Lucas Ambrose she manipulated someone who doesnt sell drugs and had never done them before into getting some for her, arresting justin wont help the problem, he wasnt selling them to kids, all she did was ruin his future she definitely didnt make the school safer
Alyssa P Guys you have to remember that he was super easily manipulated. What if he met a girl who convince him to murder someone? Though I still don't like her.
Naomi set him up so badly Like what the heck She toyed with his heart so badly and messed home up. He is going to be depressed and wouldn't know what he did wrong because he loved her so much. He did so much for her so much. He didnt deserve this.
pixil mon360 He still broke the law, regardless of whether or not he was in love with her. She didn’t ask for drugs, she asked if he did any and Justin offered to get her some, her assignment was to find out who’s buying and selling, Justin offering to get her drugs falls into that category.
Every time I listen to this, my heart literally breaks for Justin. Like he didn't do anything wrong, she forced him to take the money, she's making NOTHING safer, at all.
I've listened to this for more than 10 times now and even listened to the interview. So in my conclusion: They're both at fault. No people, keep your panties on Justin is still at fault for selling drugs even if it's for love. Naomi's also at fault for using her influence on Justin, and if she really had any decency in her she would've at least let Justin sell her the drugs outside of school so he could get a lighter punishment. In the interview, if I remembered it correctly, Justin told her that he doesn't sell drugs but boasted about knowing where to get some to impress her. That right there is something that he actually admitted. But he wouldn't have been charged for 'selling' if he didn't take the money, and that's when it doesn't add up cuz' Naomi denies that Justin told her not to take it. I don't exactly know who's telling the truth but... Justin has money, popular, straight A student and is clearly in love with her to the point of buying drugs for her so I'm leaning towards Justin telling her not to give him the money and her insisting on him to take it. lol. such a long ass comment :P
Zoe Murphy grew up and became a cop. She joined this organization to keep teenagers away from the drug because, as she said, she knows the harm that this causes to a family. The cousin with a hat is Rich before the Squip, when he was in Freshman year. Rich for that time was very close to his cousins since they involved him in the theme of the Squip. The Squip in its beginnings as you can see, changed his attitude and dress but still needed to take him away from his family. That last one happens in the time of Be more chill, Rich moves away from his family and his cousins also move away from him by orders of his Squips. Rich in the end He became aware of how bad his decision was and having no family or friends to trust, he burned the house down in an instinctive act There u go

I did this for my year group at school. Listening brings back so many funny (and stressful) memories. None of the cast were straight. My friend and I ended up running around school in costume, trying to work out where we were meant to be. Our homemade backing was crappy and everyone laughed when my Anthony-Obsessed friend said 'staring Lin Manuel-Miranda and Anthony Ramos'.
@@valentinetexasif you actually listen to the music she emotionally manipulated an 18 year old boy like "if you give me drugs i will love you" Justin as a love sick teen gave her the drugs. And if she actually did her job right she would have ask justin where he got it from and arrest the drug dealers And alot if people who are like "Justin's at fault he took the money, Naomi was just doing her job". Naomi kissed him and slide the money in his hand She let her past with drugs get the best of her.And a shy nerdy straight A student would not be a drug dealer(just saying) BOOM im finshed with my rant
To meet a quota. This was in the middle of the “war on drugs” and they wanted results, even if things like this happened and the cops used entrapment tactics.
i had never listened to this, i didn’t wanna get so attached like i did to Hamilton but now i’m attached to this skskks and now i wanna listen to In The Heights
I know this is incredibly late, but this isn't entrapment (sadly). Entrapment requires 3 things; 1) the defendant would NOT have done it if the government worker wasn't involved. 2) government worker pressures/convinces the defendant to do so. 3) The original idea came from the government. Everything but the third one matches this. That's because Justin was the one who did suggested it in the first place.
Lin wrote this in 8 days, it's obviously short! He may write like he's running out of time but really? How long did you think it took him to write Hamilton?
A lot of you are missing the point that Justin should have been able to explain what happened in court. However the court forced him to take the plea deal, something that happens far too often in drug cases.
I'm confused. How does the American legal system have the authority to do that? Sorry if I'm missing something, I'm just an English 13-yr-old who knows nothing of the American court rules.
@@someoneinthecomments1571 In the US there is very little help for people who can't afford a good lawyer or a proper trial. Then the defendant (Justin) will often plead guilty to the crime they are accused of and get a sentence previously discussed between the court and the defendands lawyer. Thats called plea bargaining. It saves the costs of a long court case but the defendant risks a getting a harsher sentence than what would be appropriate and sometimes even getting convicted for crimes they didn't commit. Plea bargaining is generally not a thing in the EU, since its against EU-laws, but similar ways to end a court case early on exist. They don't impose a harsher penalty on the defendant though.
The true story bothers me cause he really told her he didn’t smoke but he could find a way to get it for her and she accepted that and didn’t try too hard to actually find the stoner kids and their dealers

I've been listening to this musical for about 30 seconds but the 'Naomi's are already giving me Be More Chill vibes.
They way Antony says what the heck did you do at the end just breaks my heart you can here the heart break in his voice
10:49 ya if doing your job right is emotionally manipulating a 18 y/o boy
I love it tho! This helped me memorize it lol
wellll i mean he DID say he could get her weed. she is doing her job
Rylie D I don't really think giving someone weed and murdering someone are really comparable
I swear Anthony Ramos gets screwed over a lot.
John Laurens: *dies
Philip: *also dies
Justin: *went to jail for falling in love with a cop
TBH I've just learned not to get attached to Anthony's characters in anything bc I know they're going to get fucked over somehow.
Moment of silence for his characters...
Bc he got he got a good life so he switches roles for musicals

Naomi set him up so badly
Like what the heck
She toyed with his heart so badly and messed home up.
True that BUT THE FEELS AHHHHH POOR BOI
Squishy Angel even if she wasn’t a cop, he still would’ve gotten her the drugs, and boom, he’s a dealer.
pixil mon360 THANK YOUU IKR WHEN I HEARD THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME I WAS SO UPSET AND PISSED OFF WHAT THE HELL
Funny enough, the real-life Justine is completely happy and is a successful car dealer. He found a way around this, so don't worry, he good :)
This musical is so fun to perform, like, even just being a cousin/boy is amazing my dudes.
fyi in “the money” they kiss
wbk
Yeah thwn she slid it in her hand
A line I think is *way* too overlooked is
"Is your dealer a student?"
I can totally hear the Hamilton vibes
Its like a new hamilton song with a different plot
Every time I listen to this, my heart literally breaks for Justin. Like he didn't do anything wrong, she forced him to take the money, she's making NOTHING safer, at all.
I've listened to this for more than 10 times now and even listened to the interview. So in my conclusion:
They're both at fault.
Rain Luces I don’t think Naomi was fully aware, like, she knew Justin had a thing for her, but not how far he’d go.
Awkward Antisocial Perhaps, but what really bugs me is who really is telling the truth about the money part.
why would this conclusion lead to people removing their undergarments?
@@trinskeetyaboi3938 i think that's an idiom
"man, she used to fall asleep in class" that's why you should like someone honestly
Am I seeing a new Lin-Manuel Miranda musical to obsess with?
One month later update : I'm now obsessed and know the whole soundtrack:))
But... But I want more.....
Rich in the end He became aware of how bad his decision was and having no family or friends to trust, he burned the house down in an instinctive act
There u go
Hamilton has screwed up the word "luck" for me. I keep thinking of say no to this. "When a pretty girl showed up-" WJOM HE WANTED TO FUUUUUU
I DIDN'T KNOW GERARD CANONICO WAS IN THIS?! RICHARD
Spicy Biscuit CONNOR IS TOO!!!!!
RICH SET A FIRE AND HE BURNED DOWN THE HOUSE WOOOOAAAAAAH
my heart..
The only reason Justin got arrested is because he accepted the money. He didn't want the money but Naomi forced him to take it...
Sasha Prutyanu oh for gods sake. THATS HER JOB, TO FIND OUT WHOS SELLING, SHE PROBS FELT GUILTY, BUT JUSTIN WAS BREAKING THE LAW, IF HE FELL FOR ANOTHER GIRL IT WOULDVE BEEN THE SAME STORY, HE GOT HER DRUGS AND THE GIRL TELLS HER FRIENDS OR WHATEVER, THEN BAM JUSTINS A DEALER, SORRY FOR CAPS I JUST HAVE A LOTTA EMOTIONS, BECAUSE NAOMIS BEING PAINTED AS THE FUCKING VILLIAN.
FoxesAndCrows this is like a year later, but this probably qualifies as entrapment :^]
@@kassius2531 again fuck the law and fuck her job. I have 0 respect for someone whose job it is to ruin lives to meet a quota when no harm was actually done. She is the villain. She's a terrible self righteous person with a power hungry god complex just looking for an excuse to be the "better person" regardless of who she screws over in her wake. Just like most cops.
@@kassius2531 acab. She is a villain. If she felt "guilty, " she would've pleaded guilty to entrapment

Arctic Taco No problem I listen to this everyday at least twice so thank you for making it!!❤️❤️
9:21 to 9:32 if you listen u will notice its in the same harmony as Dear theodosia from hamailton a musical that was being written by lin during the same time he was producing this musical :)
I KNEW I RECOGNISED IT OMG
I did this for my year group at school. Listening brings back so many funny (and stressful) memories. None of the cast were straight. My friend and I ended up running around school in costume, trying to work out where we were meant to be. Our homemade backing was crappy and everyone laughed when my Anthony-Obsessed friend said 'staring Lin Manuel-Miranda and Anthony Ramos'.

ok but what toots my horn is that Nioami was on this big job at a high school and shes falling asleep in class
Omg Naomi why 😫
Why not?
Naomi didn’t do crap really, Justin offered too, if you listened to the song.
@@valentinetexasif you actually listen to the music she emotionally manipulated an 18 year old boy like "if you give me drugs i will love you" Justin as a love sick teen gave her the drugs. And if she actually did her job right she would have ask justin where he got it from and arrest the drug dealers
And alot if people who are like "Justin's at fault he took the money, Naomi was just doing her job". Naomi kissed him and slide the money in his hand
She let her past with drugs get the best of her.And a shy nerdy straight A student would not be a drug dealer(just saying)
BOOM im finshed with my rant
To meet a quota. This was in the middle of the “war on drugs” and they wanted results, even if things like this happened and the cops used entrapment tactics.
" I am doing my job and I am doing it right."
.....Girl you just got an innocent boy arrested
*”Naomi I know there’s a reason you were transferred here to me”*
Yea honey you in jail now-
i had never listened to this, i didn’t wanna get so attached like i did to Hamilton but now i’m attached to this skskks and now i wanna listen to In The Heights
This is entrapment right? He wouldn't have done it if not for her
Jack Rogers Yep
Jack Rogers not really
That’s exactly what it is
I know this is incredibly late, but this isn't entrapment (sadly).
Entrapment requires 3 things;
1) the defendant would NOT have done it if the government worker wasn't involved.
2) government worker pressures/convinces the defendant to do so.
3) The original idea came from the government.
Everything but the third one matches this. That's because Justin was the one who did suggested it in the first place.
@@JoJoDoesntKnowKnow
You didn't tell us the third thing, but I feel like these two both apply
I just realized-
"I'll come through for you, *Justin* time for you"
And I'm cackling
it's so..... short
Lin wrote this in 8 days, it's obviously short! He may write like he's running out of time but really? How long did you think it took him to write Hamilton?

I like how it says at the start of the musical, "the last name she used was" I didn't notice that the first time I heard it.

Why should we get you these drugs? *LOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEE* excellent answer Justin, congratulations

don’t be a simp:the musical
Honestly, thanks for taking the time to do this. So underrated. SO dramatic. SO LIN. ArcticTaco, you da real hero. This album gives me major feels.
The true story bothers me cause he really told her he didn’t smoke but he could find a way to get it for her and she accepted that and didn’t try too hard to actually find the stoner kids and their dealers
