Honestly a great idea to use this song as a benchmark. Has stuff filling every part. Plenty of bass, a ton of high end at the start, and a good mid treble.
It's so simple...I question myself why I like it so much. Then I press play again. Something about that hook that draws you in for more. It could keep going round and round all night and I doubt I would press stop. Beautiful.
Ya know...i only found Home because of memes. Resonance in specific. Then it just drew me in. Like a kid and some candy. Or a fire to oil. What is life anymore.
This song envokes a feeling of progress, not for ones self, but for society as a whole. That is what this album is mainly about, hence the album cover. The ability to get such a feeling and condense it into a song is very impressive. Bravo Home, bravo.
Collective progress, there's even a Kanji letter for it. The charge of an army, or something like that. And it figures, that forward is success, even if you don't reach your goal. As long we're trying to get there, and that's an Odyssey.
We're so lucky to be alive... It does put a tear in my eye to think that millions of years of evolution led us to this moment we share right now. Life is something only we know. Don't let it go to waste. Goodnight.
Agreed, also, and this is my personal take, the beginning and end of the song with the more natural sounding notes reflect that aspect of nature and evolution that mankind was so lucky to exist in the first place, but then when the song kicks into gear at 1:09 I feel that marks the beginning of mankind and our great adventure of technology, invention, growth of scientific knowledge, and achievement. You could even call it an Odyssey, seeing how far our desire for more knowledge and more advanced technology brings us, the things we can experience only because of that. Then at the end of the song, it returns to the more natural sound just as man reflects on nature. You could also interpret is a “from dust we were made and to dust we will return” sort of thing. tbh though, I think we will outgrow natural death eventually, with more science and technology, it seems we can overcome even death.
@@broglemalemaster-race9764 So I typed out an extensive comment as a reply to you, but RUclips seemed to delete it for some reason. (sigh.) Regardless, I'll type it out again, as best as I can. I hope you, along with any user reading this, can find some insight into their own self-reflections. I believe the 'natural' synths at the end reflect the natural end-point of humanity. Once humanity is crushed by the weight of space-time, or somehow manages to break away from it, the Universe will inevitably return to its natural state of nothinglessness, now only nostalgic for what it used to be. This brief window of self-reflection, that same window of time that allows for the appreciatiation of the beginning and the end, will also come to an end eventually, no matter what we do. As such, the time period we live in is the peak of the Universe's existence, after which it will degrade and falter, until it returns to its natural state of nothinglessness. To me, this isn't something to lament. There is a beauty in endings, too - this is something we have only recently started to accept as a society. Without endings, there is no appreciation for what we live for. The fools will scream "Life is meaningless!" in despair at this discovery, but they are looking at the opposite angle of the truth. Indeed, life might very well be meaningless - there is nothing stopping you from leaving it meaningless, if you wish - but meaning is completely subjective. The phrase 'Give life your own meaning' is the truest response to that mentality, but yet, I would like to add something more. Life, and its limited lifespan, is the only way anything can experience the Universe. As such, life is, quite literally, everything. Life is the beginning, the middle, and the end, because without life, there is none of the those things. How could 'nothing-ness' exist without an 'everything-ness' to compare it to? There is no *lack of existence* without *existence* in the first place. Thus, only a fool would call life 'meaningless': It is, to the truest sense of the word, all the meaning of the Universe. I have matured a lot since initially posting my first comment, but I still confidently stand for all I have said, emotions included.
The beginning sounds like this one song, from a fantasy movie, game or something. I think I used to know the name but I can’t figure out what it is Edit: It was a part in the song Worst games to play/Deep on the Meadow from the Hunger Games.
There is not one song in the entire Odyssey Album I dislike.
And thats a pretty damn hard thing to pull off. Thanks Home.

Decay

b r e e z y n/a I think intro is one of his best too.
