I saw them live in Osaka and Shinjuku last month and they are truly amazing, Nagisa on drums is an absolute beast, you have so much to look forward to with the Japanese music scene...Little Lilith, Hanabie, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus, Yosei Teikoku, Bridear, Jiluka...the list goes on...next Trident song has to be Spoopy...enjoy !!!
Japan is the female drummers paradise! Well the female rockers paradise actually - drums, guitar, bass, they KILL. You've just seen the snowflake on the top of the iceberg!
TRiDENT's rocking pretty hard, I liked them before, but their latest stuff, love it :) Spoopy (yes, that is the name...), Signal, Voltage, Distination.... all good, although Spoopy is my personal pick. Someone already pointed it out, but there's a lot of awesome bands coming out of Japan, Sokoninaru springs to my mind first, ridiculous skill, great songwriting and just fun people :) Saitei and Gou Ni Moyu, Tenohira De Odoru, re:program, Lament Moment.... all awesome. (No female drummer though ;) Another favorite would be Unlucky Morpheus, Technical Melodic Speedmetal, pretty much everything is great, Opfer and Angreifer rank highest for me. Then there's Nemophila, Band-Maid, HAGANE, Gacharic Spin, Yousei Teikoku, Maximum The Hormone (but you did mention 'em), and more.
TRiDENT is fantastic but they are just scratching the surface of the talented female bands in Japan. Check out BAND-MAID, they are the BEST in the business. I recommend checking out From Now On for a special treat. If you want a taste of the different things they can do, check out the double feature of Manners, BLACKHOLE live. If you like metal, check out NEMOPHILA! Japan is KILLING the music scene!

Trident is seriously underrated, awesome musicians. You’ve got to dive into the Japanese metal/rock rabbit hole: Nemophila, Bridear, Lovebites, Gacharic Spin, Band Maid, Hagane, Lonsome Blue, Hanabie (they started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band, check out We Love Sweets) The Devil’s Killing Merry Go Round and many more. Once you start down the rabbit hole you can’t get enough.

I would recommend their most recent song Signal and also Spoopy (which is uniquely good) and Ambivalent, Last hope, No regret, Continue, Imagination and Alive. This is from their current EP called D-X which also has the excellent “Spoopy” which showcases Asaka’s voice better and is a bit mad, as girl’s J-Metal should be. For more current music like this try Lonesome_Blue. For a taste of real Harajukucore try some Hanabie. More attitude? Try Nemophila. This rabbit warren is deep and wide and it’s all SOOOO good, this is “normal” levels of skill and talent - let that sink in! 😜 People have been known to voluntarily stay there forever. 😜 Every one of these bands has a drummer. Every one is female. Every one is amazing - Murata Tamu of Nemophila is possibly the best but it’s subjective as there are a few truly outstanding drummers in the genre.
