- I first played this on camera over a decade ago. Just dusted it off to share it with anyone who might be interested.
I highly encourage you to refer to the original recording for definitive placement of artificial harmonics. Also, listening to the original solo at an extremely slow speed will help with the very nuanced, but critical, rhythmic variation of some of the most furious legato sections - particularly near the end.
As always, thanks for watching!

This is great, man. Hearing it at this speed shows even more what a freak GL is. Some of those runs make no sense and the fact that he rips them at the speed he does with feel and dynamics... as a great scholar once said, "GOD DAMN!"
It’s a wild one, isn’t it? Took a lot of work to get it to the point where it made sense enough to me to try to play it at speed.
Thanks for writing!
Requested yesterday delivered today, simply incredible,THANKS!!!
Thanks for your patience, Ben. Happy to put this in your hands.

Thank you so much for this, this is one of my all time favourite solos and can now set about learning it!
You’re welcome! It’s definitely one of GL’s finest. I hope you enjoy it!
You are a beast 🔥🔥🔥
You are too kind. Thanks! 😎🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
À 60piges j'ai découvert George lynch il y a peu de temps. Il est génial ce mec
Awesome
Thanks!🙂🎸
awesomee!🔥
Enjoy! Hope it is helpful. 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
It’s not easy playing it in stepdad speed
@@guitaraddiction4life The last legato flurry drove me NUTS - trying to re-internalize it to get it right. Its been a while since I last really pressed myself into that particular mold.
Overall worth the effort, though.
@@gbalulis excellent job
Good job George, this is kind of a weird solo and the unusual licks are why I loved Lynch, sadly that Lynch disappeared in the mid 90s.
Thanks!
I am 100% with you: he had such a great voice on the instrument. Such lyrical quality, blues influence and just enough obnoxious 80s technical swagger to be uniquely compelling. It saddens me to hear him describe himself these days as a “redeemed 80s shredder “
Yea……….”let’s turn the distortion off and use no effects and sound like I’m playing through a practice amp, oh, and no fast runs!”
If he would return to his old ways I would actually buy his albums again. That’s what people want to hear.
Still Blows my mind 🤘
😀🤘🏻👍🏻
Damn 🤘🤘🤘
Killer guitar tone!!!! What settings do you have on your amp! I like the tone!!!! Pure awesomeness!!! Rock on BRO!!!!!!!
Thanks! It’s a Hughes & Kettner Grandmeïster 36. Lead channel. Gain nearly pegged, mids just below half, bass over halfway up, presence and highs emphasized. I run the Tung-Sol tube set in it as well. Adds brightness/cut/aggression.
Is that a Custom Shop ESP GL Kamikaze ?? Or LTD ?? If it's the Custom Shop, how do you like it ? It weighs a ton ??
Heya Stephen!
It is the ESP production Japanese signature model from the late 90s. Although these bear a decal on the back of the headstock that reads “ESP Custom Guitars” (or something similar), these are not custom shop, per se.
It definitely weighs a ton! The neck feels fantastic and, unlike many, I love the aggressive brightness of the maple body combined with the Screamin’ Demon.
Of course, the finish is mesmerizing.
Thanks for watching!

😎👍🏻🎸🤘🏻
Great transcription bro. Sounds impossible to play that at full speed, some licks seem totally weird.
Are you working on playing them at real tempo?
Thanks, Jean-Marc
I actually did the full speed post a number of years ago:

I’ve been asked many times over the years to post a walkthrough. Decided it was high time to share one.
Take care!

@@gbalulis awesome. Actually I realize I had liked that full speed video. Just did not remember, apologies!
Gives me a bit of hope 😉
@@JMSoundFreak no apology necessary at all.
Take care!

Sounds more sloppy than Joe Biden speaking. You need more cow bell...
GREAT, NOW TEACH IT!
