I used to think about the ideal rim brake solution and my conclusion was:
    1. Ride a deep carbon rim in front with an alloy brake track. These wheels exist. There's a weight penalty. Ride a normal carbon wheel in the rear. This preserves most of brake force in the wet and dry while being aero and stiff.
    2. Swap fork out for a disc brake fork. Use rim brake in the rear and disc in front. Cable actuated disc brake, if selected carefully, can be great. And no risk of overheating the oil or bleeding required.
I still ride pure carbon rim brake because I'm lightweight, but I won't forget the options. 😊

@@mikeh6286 looks a bit complicated to me. I did a week in Mallorca with the Lun Hyper R45 wheels and the braking was great

A spare alloy wheelset is a clever way to be able to ride in any weather. Just remember to swap to "alloy" brake pads.
