THIS IS THE ORIGINAL TIE FIGHTER CASTING FROM THE SNOW SPEEDER BUILD THAT WAS FILMED IN MAY! I NO LONGER USE PLASTIC MODELS
Could you give plastic items a layer of epoxy the uv quick drying stuff to give it a bit more integrity when it heats up. Might not bend or as much. 👍🏼
Ben's Worx So does that mean you are going to find metal models? Or something else?
Is it possible you can make small resin rods to hold the wings together? Like put a rod on each corner of them kind of tie together...great job, thanks for sharing!!
I like the dipping in resin first idea, just give it a hard layer to stop the warping
@@misterhangman3586 "Tied-fighter", lol.
This is my first time seeing somebody put a camera in their pressure pot and with the glitter it makes for such great content
I agree. I was affraid that he wont show it when just before start he changed the camera. But fortunately whole process was shown :))
It wasn’t glitter they were air bubbles.
@@konstantinethegr8 Nope, at 3:52 he adds the glitter to the catalyzed resin mix.
@@waylongroves200 oh thanks must have missed that part. But the whole reason for the pressure cooker is to remove air bubbles
Just what I was thinking
Hey Ben!! I have a few suggestions on how you can prevent your Star Wars diecasts from melting and deforming and how you can prevent your resin from cracking and giving off exothermic reactions!! When mixing resin and hardener together, they generate heat!! Try pouring thinner layers of your resin into your molds at a time like a few hours for each layer until you get the right amount of resin you need for your projects because by pouring in thinner layers the heat disperses and the resin cures properly!! Also, try cooling down the temperatures of both your workshop and your resin because by cooling down the temperatures of both your resin and your workshop, it will help in slowing the curing process as well as controlling your epoxy resin’s exothermic reaction!! Have your resin cure in cooler temperatures until it gets to be a soft solid and then expose it to room temperature or higher to complete the curing process!! Hopefully, these suggestions will help prevent your all of your diecasts (including your Star Wars ones) from melting and deforming in your resin and also help prevent your resin from cracking and giving off exothermic reactions in your pressure pot, too!! I hope these suggestions help you in your future resin diecast projects!! :)
And this guys is the reason why handmade products are not cheap. There is passion and hard work behind paired with a lot of creativity
See, a true ARTIST will even show when things don't turn out exactly as planned...GREAT JOB!!!
Wow Ben. Another Masterpiece. I've seen way out crazy wood turning, and I have done some too. You are up there. Its BEN Great Watching you Resinate your idea on this project. The camera inside the vacuum pot ... priceless.
Whenever I think I've seen your best, you pop out something different. Love, Love, Love your work.
Thanks Caren :)
My son (31) would love this!! Another great video 😊
Unbelievable you are the best at this!!!..lot of skill and patience!!
FREGIN AWESOME!!!
I am constantly amazed and awed by your talent! Wow! First rate! Absolutely spot on! Thank you for sharing your talent! A lovely piece!
Thanks Ellen
This is now my #1 favourite turning video. Awesome!
I love the time lapse in the pressure pot it’s interesting to see how it hardens.
These videos are always soothing to watch
The "curved" wings of the fighter do not deter from the overall finished project. Nicely done and keep them coming. The fact that the attachment rod disappears is far more interesting & cool. Thanks
Thankyou
I'm amazed every time watching you create these absolute works of art.
Thanks Mate
Amazing as usual Ben. Love watching your work. Stay safe Kath UK
Thanks Kath, you too
I always love watching your videos, but I still don't see the USS Enterprise!! I guess I can wait . Thanks Ben
Idk why but i find these videos soo relaxing lol. Always enjoy your work good sir, thank you for the entertainment
This might be the best use of resin in my opinion.
Looks great in the sun. Excellent job Ben.
Every time, I am so impressed every video! Soooo cool!
Thanks Mate
Another great one, Ben. It turned out really well. Take care.
Bill
Thanks Bill
The sphere and the ship look incredible, even if the wings melted, they are perfect inside the sphere
Thanks Mate
Great project! Thanks for sharing! Be safe, be well! Beach,NC
Thanks Bobby, you too
That was 15 minutes well spent, loved it.
You knocked this one out of the park. That is pretty amazing!
Thankyou 😊
My favourite piece ever!!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍
Thanks Mate
Thats a lot of material.
I didnt notice the bent panels until pointed out. Though it was the curve of the ball.
Beautiful work sir.
You do like your Star Wars, the skill involved is great.
Thanks Mate
I really don't know how some people can thumbs down this, amazing work.
Thanks Mate
I didn't down it... but didn't up it either. The hole and red resin was a mistake.
Absolutely beautiful work!! Love the color changing resin you use, and that glitter that shows up when dark. It’s too bad how those plastic toys reacts to the heat.
Just wow. Just found your channel. Im obsessed
Thankyou
Fantastic work as usual, it whoud have looked fantastic with a light in it as a night light
Fantastic as always- really enjoyed the other videos but missed the turning videos for sure!! Keep it up ole boy
Thanks Mate
Enjoyed it pour in the turn thanks for sharing you have a blessed day
How could someone not like this. Guess they are jealous they can't do it. Great job.
How about an AT-AT on a white field.
Make a hollow snow globe so you can shake it up!
Man this is so cool! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
Thanks Mate
@@BensWorx thank you! I'm all the way in Idaho, by Yellowstone and I really love your work 🤓
And yet another awesome build! Good job brother!!👍🏻💪🏼
Absolutely ridiculous talent and creativity. Nicely done
Thanks Mate
Oh wow - when you took it out into the sun it looked totally amazing.💜
Thanks Kim
Ben's Worx Yw💜
I love the composition of this video man. I love your other style too, but the no VO and chill cuts over chill music are fantastic. Glad I subbed.
It's like a snow globe that's frozen. 😁 Got a couple of visually interesting artefacts in this one, and I really like the base. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mate
Wow very incredible you should be proud of yourself there was so cool
Another Piece of art Ben love it, I find your videos very restful to watch much like Frank Howarth, something to just enjoy.
Thanks Robin
The Jetsons!!
You really need to get that in resin.
I love your sphere jig. It’s so fancy.
Amazing is that so perfectly round 👌👍
Awesome as always thanks for sharing
Holy Shit!! You just gave me an idea on how to make the lightsaber Ive been trying to for weeks!! I need precasted, hollow fitting for the LED (because they break easily) and I haven’t been able to figure it out!! YES!! THANK YOU SIR!!
Wow. You freehanded the sphere shape pretty well! Special jig didn't have to remove much. Love watching those things in action though.
Thanks Mate, yeah I’m getting better at the free hand spheres 👍
Здорово!!! Наверное можно часами залипать глядя на такую красоту
It's still awesome Ben and my wife says thank you for making her starry night dragon egg she loves it
No worries mate anytime 👍
Brush on a coat of artist resin on those plastic ships and that will help protect it from warping during curing my friend! Great job!
Yay the return of the pressure pot cam! Also, that base is clever! Great project!
I'm not gonna lie, I'm new to your channel but you have a subscriber for life. I can't stop binge watching your videos, they're just too damn good.
Thanks James and welcome to my channel
Same here second video that got recommend I can proudly say im a subscriber now
And hit that bell for notifications
Well done that looks really great . have a great day and stay safe 😀
Ben, yet again a brilliant piece. Glad you've moved away from the plastic models. Just need a nice Millennium Falcon one now. Or something to celebrate season 2 of the Mandalorian. This is the way.
Funny I was just thinking about that too.
This is beautiful!
Thankyou
Awesome video love the starry night finish 👍💕💕
Thanks
That little bit of a hole makes me think of a crater .That would be nice if you can make one of these to look like a surface of a moon. With lot of craters.
That would look cool
Wow, that came out looking really good. Like really really good.
Stunning as ever Ben, noticed in the vide the convection current caused by the resin going off and that it hardens from the top down, if you ever did want to try a resin model again
may be find a way of suspending the burl inverted on the container.
In theory the resin contacting the burl will harden first and then travel down, could be worth a shot ?
Another great video and project. You have to have a nice Star Wars collection going on. Hope all is well! 👍
Thanks Mark, you too mate
I wish I had some burl wood like yours, it’s all amazing. Thank you Ben for sharing your wonderful skills. I love all of your videos.
Thanks Mate
That was fascinating to watch. Such a beautiful piece you created. Mesmerising.
Wow Ben, you always amaze me with everything you make. It turned out beautiful 💙
Thanks Kristine
Brilliant mate, is like a big star wars crimbo ball ball and glass with glitter very cool
That was so Awesome!
Still love Potcam
Watching it move, twist and turn while curing
I've not seen anybody else do that.
Thanks Mate
Absolutely Gorgeous, Ben! Great work!
Thanks Mate
LOVE it, but I love anything Star Wars.💜💜💜💜💜
That's impressive! Really nice piece of work!!!
Absolutely awesome effect! I love the misty space nebula look. So I guess die-cast is the way to go from now on? Beautiful Ben, thanks!
Thankyou, yes definitely die cast
When you brought it into the sun making it pop, was amazing!!! Looked just like nebula behind the tie fighter
Just awesome Ben, well done
Thankyou
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! ❤️
I love seeing my sticker on you pressure pot!!! This was so cool!
Thanks Mate
Ben's Worx thank you Ben!!
Amazing work!! Love your video
Total genius 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏♥️
Really appreciate your efforts and enjoy your work Ben. Greetings from WA, the big sandpit to the west.
Thanks Mate
Great workmanship well done.
Beautiful piece of art. 👍
Tip with the straw:
You can seal the straw by holding a pair of pliers near the end of the straw and melting it with a lighter. Once it's melted just pinch the end to completely seal it off.
This way you don't have to use so much tape to close off the end.
Great tip Jason
Awesome job!
Another gorgeous piece. Had a thought on keeping the ships from warping/melting while the resin cures. Maybe paint on thin layers of resin gradually building it up around the model and sealing it up?
Love it love it. I love your work. Not a fan of Star Wars but the sphere is brilliant.
That's pretty awesome !
Thanks Mate
I love all these Star Wars projects. Great job once again!
Thanks Tim
Ah I love the look of these! I was kind of hoping that the rod would explode on this one - it's a really cool effect. Nicely done as always!
Amazing !!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mate
the wings bent
not good
and your advice is....
Um... he pointed out the wings bent, why go after him. And beside, any turner/epoxy guy knows that anything flexible in epoxy will bend or move in the vacuum. This isn’t a thing to get bent over, it’s definitely a mistake. Still, why does someone have to suggest a better idea when someone else messes up?? So what, he made a mistake and it cost him a perfect piece. Why deny he messed up?? Every single person that will see that on a shelf will say the same thing... “um, are those wings bent?”
If the red scanner beam was drilled right through the sphere, the base mount could have a red LED shining up to the ship. That would look cool
Star Wars AND wood turning. Okay, Google's tech now officially knows me better than I know myself. Minority Report is not far off.
This was so fin and we learned so much.. We as in I learned from watching you learn. LOL. Awesomeness
Oh, Ben! Pressure pot cam with glitter? You spoil us!
Thanks Miriam :)
Amazing as always! Have to try coating the toy in something to stop the wings bending in the heat, it always happens in the videos 🙈 but turned out great for the shape of the orb!😲 Bravo Ben love your videos and work!👏👏👏
Thanks Mate, yeah i need die cast
What a beauty. I would try to drill a hole to the red pull sidways, paint it black as well and put a red LED into the hole. That way you would have indirect light eluminating the red light-beam :)
Beautiful
Incredible!!
Stunning
Thanks Mate
