I feel like this scene takes place after Po pushes Shen during their final fight, but it was replaced by the scene where Shen almost cuts Po's cheek with one of his knives
Wait, was in the novel the information about Shen being a sick albino, neglected by his parents? I mean, I doubt that it is an early concept of backstory from early draft, how many claim. There's still the article from Screenrant from 2011 (published a month before the movie's release) with link to official DreamWorks cite, where Shen was described as a sick and rejected albino, so the Soothsayer was his nanny who loved him no matter what, while the wolves were his only friends. My question - why these important scenes with important information were cut from the film?
Because this concept was changed. In the film, Shen is just a crazy genocidal man who believes his parents hated him, when they really didn't. In addition to the fact that the film makes it very clear that he He always had distorted thoughts and a desire for conquest, such as the fact that he decided to create gunpowder weapons soon after gunpowder was discovered.
@@alexandrealcantara1506Nah, that's not enough development for him in my book. I don't condone his actions, but the original background story makes more sense and dives deeper into his childhood that gives a real answer to why he truly believed his parents never loved him and that nobody is born a genocidal maniac. Doesn't excuse his actions, but it would make him a lot more understanding, even if he couldn't be saved in the end.
@@Disneyfan82 But the idea of the film version is not to give depth to what made him evil but to show how crazy and sick he is. He's not supposed to be a tragic villain but an absolute and irredeemable monster. Not every villain needs a tragic reason to be evil. Examples of villains that work well without a tragic motive are Jack Horner, Fairy godmother from Shrek 2, Mrs. Tweedy, Grimmel among others.
@@alexandrealcantara1506 Oh please, Jack Horner and all those other villains are more pure evil and irredeemable than Shen had ever been. I don't care what anyone says. I would rather have a Shen spin off series based on his background than the others that don't deserve it.

The whole "defeat by a warrior of black and white" thing always translated as Shen himself being his own downfall after all he's black and white himself?
As much as i love this deleted scenes of shen being really symphatetic, i'm glad they stuck with the current version cause it fits more inline with his personality that his fears and anger blinded him from seeing the bigger picture like the fact his fear of his fate causes him to commit genocide on the panda never fully realizing he sealed his fate at that moment and him thinking his parents hated him but the truth is that HIS actions caused his banishment and that his parents loved him but again blinded by his hate and fear It contrasts with po, who is able to reconcile with his past and able to achieve inner piece with himself by moving on;shen never let go of his past, never reconcile with his actions that caused him to spiral down further to darkness and never fully healing.
with shen's parents i think both shen and his parents are at fault. from the info we have shen was born weak/sickly, perhaps shen's parents assumed that shen wouldn't make it to adulthood and would die as a young child due to how sickly he was and so didn't spend much attention or time on him, maybe because they were already in sorrow and didn't want to make parting with shen even more saddening as if they got closer with shen the parents would miss him more when he died. shen maybe viewed this as his parents hating him however, and when he actually did grow and beat his sickness he held resentment for his parents.
Shen is so well written and drawn and Gary Oldman was a master at bringing him to life with such depth. There aren't many perfect villains but Shen is in that group

Honestly, I feel they could have made the 'your parents didn't love you' deleted scene work with slight tweaks- maybe make him look less unsure but have him unfocus his eyes so it's clear he isn't talking to Po, but to himself. He wouldn't allow himself to think any other way because if he did, he'd have to go back to face it with a level of actual emotional vulnerability, and this Kick Chicken is WAY too far gone for that. But you have to admit that despite being a perfect villain, Shen also has a heart. If he had been as wicked as they describe him...he would have usurped his father. He would have killed him, both he and the queen. He would have killed the Soothsayer. Okay. It is true. He kills the Chief of Wolves (who I understand was a childhood friend. Shen took care of them and that’s why the wolves show him respect. A bit like Scar with hyenas). But then he kills him because the Chief rebels He could kill a lot of his servants. Like the gorilla he calls an idiot because he let Po and the others escape Okay. He’s a genocidal. But (although it may seem like a paradox) he never touched the people he cares about...
I agree on the point that Shen has a heart. He would never hurt anyone he cares about, for example the Soothsayer, with the exception of Wolf Boss, but that was a desperate move because his defeat was near
While i understand why these were deleted. I think the Soothsayee & Shen relation remain too subtle in the movie. Lot of people thought " why don't he kill her", she was like his Uncle Iroh. A little more chemistry between the two would've solved this issue. Even tho it was already hinted in the final product. Now that i think about it, does the parental disdain is due to his albinism ? Does albinism causes any other damage outside of the skin ? Still confused why he was so unbothered by the genocide he caused, maybe he was always mentally unstable, perhaps due to his albinism(???)
I understand why they removed these scenes. The writers were going for an irredeemable pure evil Shen. These scenes woulda made him look too sympathetic for their liking
Really even the part where he says he doesn't enjoy taking a life if it is from a person who doesn't care about it.

And I never truly understood what po meant by “you gotta let go of that stuff in the past bc it just doesn’t matter” I thought he was talking about what Shen did to po’s family but now I look at this and now I understand it now.
3:30 ngl its sad but the look on his face is also giving me the creeps But ig then it wouldn’t make mich sense for Po to feel hurt if they didn’t use the og scene Or maybe it’s just me
3:30 this is sad you can tell how broken he sounded, i can understand why they removed it because it would make him look too sympathetic.
After seeing this video Shen became my best character even more
Noice!
All hail Lord Shen!
Even before seeing all the deleted scenes, I was sympathetic towards Shen. I was just i think in highschool when I first saw this. When his weapon started falling, and the last expression he had made me ball my eyes out. I was literally ugly crying back then. And now I'm seeing this, I'm crying even more 😂😮
Shen's scenes before greeting Po had as many changes as his rehearsals
Uhh why did Kai’s theme start playing? Kai is my favorite villain Ik everyone hates Kai but CMON HIS COLOR THEME HIS VOICE HIS MFKIN T H E M E M U S I C 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
4:29 what a horrible, horrible thing to say… one of the best villains ever!
4:29 where?
wow la escena de la pelea final nunca la había visto, las otras si pero no completas
i love how shen's palace like mk tower😂
I’m so glad I found this video! I love all these deleted scenes. Does anyone know where I can get the KFP novels? I NEED them now.
I think you can buy them on Amazon? Not quite sure
I like how lord shen is looking at the mirror
hes so awesome
Shen parent palace remind me about spongebob master karatet episode.
great video and the deleted scenes are just fantastic. i have a question, is it possible to download the last scene "battle on the ship" in good quality somewhere? i really wanted to make an edit((
Augh as far as I know that's the only clip out there, kinda sad that the quality isn't that good 😭

I actually bought the novel and didn't notice the deleted scenes was in the novel. I kinda thought it was the same script as the movie.
2:10 music for this please
"Daddy Issues" by John Powell (1:04)
4:55
Where did you find this part?
Wassup, that part is from "Ben Rush" 's vimeo. (vimeo.com/64285850 ) at around 1:03. I linked in the description a video that a friend made explaining all these scene as well, with a document leading to all the sources!
This is everything lol
It's quite odd I remember seeing like 90% of scenes you showed in theatre in the movie. And I never watched a deleted scenes video
I didn't even know that. Impressive
must say that most of the time Shen is a mood that i got idk
They should of made Shen see his parents in the final kung fu pandas film as a offer of forgiveness from the long time ago
But then he kills him because the Chief rebels
He could kill a lot of his servants. Like the gorilla he calls an idiot because he let Po and the others escape
Okay.
@@TheUnusualShenFan exactly. Besides Wolf Boss betrayed him
Amazing 😍🤩
KFP2>>>>KFP4
While i understand why these were deleted. I think the Soothsayee & Shen relation remain too subtle in the movie. Lot of people thought " why don't he kill her", she was like his Uncle Iroh. A little more chemistry between the two would've solved this issue. Even tho it was already hinted in the final product. Now that i think about it, does the parental disdain is due to his albinism ? Does albinism causes any other damage outside of the skin ? Still confused why he was so unbothered by the genocide he caused, maybe he was always mentally unstable, perhaps due to his albinism(???)
He needed her to be alive so that he could check on whether or not his future had changed.
@@Gloom_Shroom_Gaming Oh yea so thats why we only see him do that once?
And why he just doesn't jail her?
@@jammygamer8961 No real reason to.
@@Gloom_Shroom_Gaming Oh yea because leaving the person who can see the future free to roam is totally not a bad idea
@@jammygamer8961 Shen had extreme doubt in her abilities.
But why are the clips looks so scary. Its like and an old picture left in an abandoned burned house.
