- My husband leaves me, so I'm back on my own, living in my car, driving from Bigfork via Swan Lake through Missoula, Montana, looking for a free BLM campsite, where I end up camping alone in grizzly bear country.

Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄🎅🏻☃More camping adventures: ruclips.net/video/YFrQrjNHWKo/видео.html
Feliz Prospero Año Nuevo 🥰🤗🥳🥳🥳
Hahaha, you are adorable!! And my kind of crazy!!
Thanks Maggie... Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas & an adventurous New Year!!
Merry Christmas to you as well, Juno... :)
Merry Christmas, I think I would be nervous to camp out in the woods by myself like you do. I know I wouldn't feel safe unless unless others around.
Merry Christmas, Gail! I often feel safer when no one else is around... :)
You’re hilarious “my hand is doing the talking”. The bear 🐻 at the end, perfectly scary! 😂
LOL, thanks for staying all the way to end... ❤️
You are so brave chilling out there alone in Bear country. I was on pins and needles for you looking around and feeling uncomfortable wondering if there was a bear lurking due to the soup aroma. You got me good at the end of your video🤣🤣🤣🤣with that roaring bear🐻. Safe travels beautiful soul.
LOL, thanks for being a good sport. The odds of seeing a bear in the wild are low, but, still possible. And I was a little nervous about attracting the wrong kind of attention, so to speak!
Great video, love your idea of adding bacon bits to the stew! 😋
I should have put some shredded cheese on there too... :)
@@dianeschmiane yes! Everything is better with cheese! 🧀
Diane, You are my hero. Love your trip.
Awww, thanks Charlotte. Merry Christmas!
Hey girl: Binge watching and catching up!!! Commenting on each video to help your algorithm!!! Swan Lake beyond beautiful!!! Suggest you put on proper footwear when you leave vehicle or camp; voice of experience, all bad!!! Also suggest you get and carry bear spray when you leave camp for all bears … both four and two legged. You can enhance your hammock with two things … a mosquito net and a ridge line tarp cover. Keeps you insect free and dry. The tarp can be retracted to your feet to improve the view when not raining and the pulled over and secured when it rains. I LIKE your table and mat next to your hammock; the candle was a nice touch. The grocery store where you bought the beer had their priorities right (one whole wall plus a walk in cooler dedicated to beer ;o)!!!). Anyways, excellent video!!! Take care, be safe, best wishes and God bless!!! Chuck Knight from Buffalo, Texas. 👨🌾✝️🙏☃️🐩
Chuck, thank you so much for all the great ideas and helping me out with the algorithm. Yes, Missoula Montana Albertsons does beer right!!! 😂
@@dianeschmiane … Amen, girl!!! Chuck. 👨🌾
Hey! We got another cameo 😌Here's to flip flops 🩴🩴Another fun video! Loved how you attempted to get down to Swan Lake. That's our sort of thing, try and find an uninterrupted path to a lake......in flip-flops. "What we do for YT" 😆Thanks for cleaning your windows!!!
LOL, yes, ever since you told me about that "flip flop" hiking standard, I can't get it out of my head. I'll try to be better about those windows in the future... :)
Yeh I’m watching this on my second beer in a pub in Brisbane- once again enjoyed the content
LOL, sounds like fun, wish I were there right now!
Great smile
Chili mixed with cooked Mac and cheese is my comfort food, along with California sushi (no fish) rolls.
I'll be honest, that sounds a little bit nasty, but also kind of curious to try it... :)
@@dianeschmiane California rolls I buy at safeway they have rice too, the Mac and cheese I make up as usual 1 box then add a small can of chili to it, you can heat the mix until chili is warm if desired and I usual eat that for dinner once in a while.
Haha, I use the pot as bowl to clean one less item. If you add half a cup of rolled oats to the soup, it’d be more filling :)
Jen, thanks for the tips. When I backpack I cook everything in an oven bag so that I don't have to do any dishes at all... :) Merry Christmas! 🎄
Oats are not good for you.
Watching this one in February & you had me laughing out loud - often !! 😂
Yay, thanks, Krisg, mission accomplished!
Y'all did pretty good, I'd say...OMGOODNESS lol you made me jump when you yelped then I saw it was just an ant(I thought, 😳She must be really scared of em...I do that in 🇵🇷 they have hot red ants. Yeah, I'd admit, I feel same as you to be able to at will it's called "FREEDOM" 😆 I really enjoyed your vlog journey such a great way for me to chilax till its my turn😁
The fire ants in PR loved me, so I could NEVER go barefoot in the grass there. I'd get a bite, guaranteed!
Me too I love horses 💕
🐴🐎🎠
I love all your videos! 😂 ❤
Michele, thank you so much!
Diane you have a safe and warm holiday in Tahoe!
Jen, thank you. Have a wonderful holiday yourself!
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 from Whittier, California.
Love your daring ways...you are funny 😁 thank you fir sharing your video
Thank you Carmen, Merry Christmas to you as well!
Hello Diann i also grew up in the San Joaquin valley but I think you must be younger than me.
I just found your channel and I’m living vicariously as you go about doing so many wonderful things that I’ve only dreamed of … thank you for your transparency, sense of humor, lust for adventure and even making room to include your hubby along the way … he was a sport!! I’d love to be doing what you’re doing now but when I tell others they just think I’m crazy lol
Also want to say … you’re adventure is your own incomparable to others. You’re doing amazingly!!! At least IMO 👍 I appreciate the local beer reviews as well 🍻
Awww, thx NewMxGrl, I appreciate your kindness! I’m just doing what I can while I can because life goes by so fast. I hope you find a way to get out there too, however you can… :)
Hahahaha, as the potato and carrot drops from her mouth. Just after she says the soup was good. Priceless. Anna has a bigger fridge and has been doing this longer then you. You're doing just fine.
👽
Thanks, Paige. I appreciate the encouragement!
You're coming alone with the bears. I'm camping alone on the Mexico border of Arizona with the badgers, coyotes, tarantulas, scorpions, and snakes! 🤣 Stay safe out there my friend!🚙👍. And, free camping on BLM land or forestry land is always the best bet! And most of them big fancy meals on RUclips are just for veiws! I basically do the same thing as you in my vanlife experience! Quick and easy filling meals!
I'll take the bears anytime. You stay safe out there as well! ❤
I’ll take bears over scorpions any day!
Back to being you. Freedom!!
Spend the $50 for bear spray; works on bears and sketchy people on truck stops
Yeah, I've been thinking about that...
Now that was an epic hammock moment 🎉
Right??? I can't believe it took me so long to get that thing out!
Merry Christmas! Taking Vit. B-complex will keep the mosquitoes away.
Interesting, haven't heard that one before, will have to try it. Merry Christmas!
Love your Videos , and I love that you LOVE beer. I try and go local on my beer too. I haven't tried the Chocolate beers though, its on my TO DO list. Merry Christmas to you. BTW, Your screens are so simple and effective. Checking Amazon now. ( gotta measure window first)
Thanks! I love the stouts, they're super rich. The window screens are a must for summer. They don't fit perfectly, but they work well enough... :)
What time of the year did you film your trip because it has been pretty cold in that area resently? Still enjoyable, beautiful video.
I’m guessing someone else might have mentioned this; but did you ever think about a 12v cooler?? The hassle of finding shade and getting ice might have been avoided with a mini fridge / freezer
Yes, it's on the wishlist, but right now an expense I need to put off... :)
Do you carry a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB)? My husband bought me one for Christmas and I feel much safer carrying one on my walks (in venomous Australia). You’re probably home and back to “normal life” by now. Enjoy Christmas and New Year.
I will be back travelling in my car (short breaks), when school resumes after the 6 week summer school break. What’s next on your travel agenda? 🇦🇺
I have and old one but need to activate the monthly service. I didn't use it this summer, but I really should to be safer. I'm thinking about a trip to the desert next. Happy Holidays to you as well... :)
@@dianeschmiane a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) doesn’t require a subscription. It uses satellite technology worldwide to pin your location once you activate it. Unlike a subscription service you cannot send messages to people etc. It’s purely a locator beacon that sends an SOS message. They are more useful for emergencies than subscription services as they work worldwide as long as there is sky above you. Worth considering as the advantage is you aren’t dependent on there being service in the area you’re in and there is no subscription. Hope this helps. If you’re considering desert adventures this will be more useful than a sub-service.
Merry Christmas Diane!
Merry Christmas to you as well, Larry... 💗
Merry Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas to you as well... :)
Ok IV decided we're soul sisters, lol. I'm a horse girl, hv adult kids n struggling with my Mom, and HELL YEAH MONTREAL STEAK SEASONING MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER!! ❤️💯 LOL
LOL, I love it... ❤️
👍👍
Has anyone ever mentioned you favor Diane Keaton?
Yes, a few times. More so when my hair was long... :)
If she was familiar with bears she should know never go walking by yourself, take bear spray and or go armed. Keeping food in your car is a big no no. Wear hiking boots not flip flops, they call it Rattlesnake park for a reason. There is such a thing as common sense, she cooked at the back of her car another no no, she said she cleaned everything up really good, I wonder if she carried a bear proof container in her car for trash. I hope she had a good and safe trip, if she did it was just by mere luck. The price of her cavalier attitude(I know bears) could be her life then of course the bears life.
Really worried for her safety. So many things doing wrong. You will probably hide my comment but I had to say it.
LOL!!!👍😎🙏⭐🇨🇦
Car camping…that’s not very scary in bear country. Tent camping would be.
Yes, I really appreciated a hard shell like that in grizzly country!
I like your videos but I skip past the food parts. I like scenery, median house prices, etc.
Lisa, thanks for the feedback!
What is wrong with Rice-A Roni? IT IS GOOD! Anyone who makes fun of you for that is a hater!
OMG, right? I love it so much, it's comfort food!
