Sometimes I just want to stop and thank the animals, look into their eyes and see them really enjoying something they like. Maybe the Library Cafe will have something to read about this sort of sentiment. Getting there before winter sets in would be timely. I'm practicing walking again later this morning. Thanks for all these encouraging views! ☆🌲👌

It's called consciousness. Simply start by going vegan, not vegetarian as that is the same as the meat industry. That way you stop the murder, rape, abduction and torture of about 1000 animals per year that only suffer bc of every single non-vegan (personally! Each of you does this by ordering others to 'produce' 'animal products' which means 'dead bodies' in real language)

Are u doing kheerganga in Kasol? It's an awesome trek, much better then triund. Kheerganga in English means Milkyway. During clear sky night and no moon day you will see thousands of starts from the naked eye in Kheerganga. You can trek it in the morning and stay overnight in a tent. There is a hot water spring at the top. Or you can do Malana village trek which is famous for Marijuana crop.
November is the lowest tourism month in Himachal. It will peak like crazy in April - June and end of December and Jan for the snow. You are here in the slowest month.

I think the trail you are talking about is the one that takes you up to Papsura which is one of the highest peaks. If so, it takes you along the Beas River to Samsi Tach to the confluence. There is an amazing cave up to the left here and you can camp (best time is September). If you carry on up another 1000m up the Beas Glacier you get to our old Base Camp with incredible views up to the high peaks. It is great to camp up there and do hikes but may be too cold currently.

Very similar, the difference seems to be that Nepal is better set up for the deeper Himalaya treks with lodges all along the trekking routes. Once you leave the roads behind in India they aren't as prepared for trekkers with lodges further into the mountains. You may have to organize a trek that includes tents, porters, cooks, etc. I'm not aware of any treks in India in which you can just start hiking, get high up in the Himalayas and expect to find plenty of lodges waiting for you with food and lodging, no reservations required.
