- Kirkwood Mountain Resort is the most remote Epic Resort in the Tahoe area. It's got 2300 skiable acres that contains amazing terrain for advanced riders!
Kirkwood being deeper in the mountains also causes it to get more wind and more snow than a lot of the other resorts. You never know what you'll get there, but when the snow is deep the resort is tons of fun.
We had an icy groomer morning that took forever to loosen up in the afternoon. The wind was preventing the snow from heating up for a lot of the upper slopes. The lower slopes got almost too slushy by mid afternoon.
Our next stop after Kirkwood is Heavenly!
