Wow, utterly brilliant. I've heard that the Amalfi coast is spectacular, but this was next level. One of my fave videos believe it or not. Maybe because of the interaction with the guy at the start of the Staircase to the Gods as well as the guy with the fruit and veg stall. You did well with your stealth park overnight. What a wonderful experience to file in your memories!
Wow, I absolutely loved your clip to the Amalfi coast. I've never been to that part of Italy but really enjoyed your presentation of same and absolutely loved drone views and the music chosen to reflect the dramatic beauty of the landscape. It gave me goosebumps!!! ❤ Your videos are so entertaining and educational; I so look forward to the next Sunday when your next trip story appears on here.... Travel safe!!! Greetings from Australia ❤
My most favourite road Positano is beautiful. Loved your walk. My husband and son did the other route. Was lovely seeing the one you took. Your drone shots were amazing. ❤
I'm working my way through your vidoes (the earlier ones around Australia at present) and really enjoying them. Great work, informative, unpretentious, honest and really, really helpful for people planning a trip. I'm sure those of us who do not do this sort of youtube thing realise how much work goes into it - so thanks very much!
Enjoying your series. When you can't travel yourself watching this kind of thing is the 2nd best option. I love Italy too so thankyou. I d suggest visiting liguria in the north. Beautiful beaches, beautiful towns, immaculate everywhere.
We still have a few areas we want to visit in the north and central part of Italy. We came to the south while it's colder, and when we have some more days on our Schengen allowance, we will come back to see the places we haven't seen yet. We really love Italy!
You both are Gems, you do a brilliant job, taken us with you, not only video, but filling us with info, especially us who will never get to travel overseas, my wife won’t fly Thank you thank you, so looking forward to more of your videos.❤️❤️
OMG! What can I say but wow 😮 on the footage from the drone!! Amazingly beautiful and breathe taking views. Thank you Nigel 👏 and great job on the narration Sue👍 much ❤ from Melbourne Australia 🦘
Ah the beautiful Amalfi Coast! We always stay in Praiano when we're there. Not quite as crazy busy as Positano and a great spot to use as a base for day trips to the other towns. That fruit stand guy is always there and always pretty pricey, but like you said, it's all part of the experience.
I've walked the Path of the Gods twice with my sister (2020 and 2023) We walked from Bomerano to Positano the first time and Bomerano to Nocelle (where we were staying) the second time. It is just spectacular. The little stall you passed with the giant lemons is a great place stop and enjoy the view with a fresh lemon granita. Love Italy. Happy travels.
Blimey that path of the Gods looked really tricky but wow what fantastic views, and chance encounters you wouldn’t get anywhere else. Fabulous memory for you and a rare chance for me to see too thank you 👏💫🥰
Love it I’m going to Italy in sept my daughter is getting married in Capri , after the wedding I’m hoping to explore the areas surrounding ,great video 👍
Capri is BEAUTIFUL - we didn't have the chance to go there this time (and it's not really the place to visit in winter anyway - September will be beautiful there. Hope you enjoy it!
Great vlog guys! What a beautiful hike. I follow a couple of families who live in Positano, so many stairs. You can park up the top and walk down. There is a lift half way down too somewhere! 😂🤷♀️
Thanks for sharing your adventures! I was in the Amalfi Coast two years ago and thought it was absolutely breathtaking. Would like to go back and walk on the road of the gods, looks divine!
Fantastic adventures though sketchy hike. I did this road on a bus last year and it totally gave me a headache. I will do it by boat next time. Cannot wait till you get to Sicily. Stay safe always Lyn.
You were right to visit this area now....👍in spring and summer it is impossible to walk and drive especially to park👀🤦🏼♀️! And now Sicily ? So don't forget if you have time to visit, Siracusa, Ortigia, Noto, Ibla, Modica, la Valle dei Templi Agrigento Taormina....and drive safely...🤗
Hey Patti, you're right it would be a nightmare there in summer, I guess that's why they limit the cars coming through the SS163 (odd/even numberplates). We did visit most of those places in Sicily - our videos are a few weeks behind! Hope you will enjoy that series!
We tried to do that highway in our camper going south but were confronted with signs saying no campervans, as u say nowhere to park. For us the traffic was mental crazy, in october which rather spoiled things. Well done u.
Yeah, I guess October is right at that shoulder season - when a lot of people head there to miss the summer crowds. There is good and not so good with winter! Hunting for an open restaurant for example!
Ahh we’re doing great in steamy North Queensland, love sharing your next big adventures in Europe, you’re both such a wonderful inspiration xx keep on going love every minute xxx
G'day Nigel and Sue. Love watching your channel. From your start in Australia and until now and beyond. I have a question for you. We travel Australia full-time towing a caravan fir the last 5 years and are thinking about changing to a van like you have. So my question is with size van do you find the best size to live in full-time the mercedes sprinter van or your poss van you got now. Once again love you videos and thank you both for the hard work you do to present them each week. Thank you Grant and Shelly
Hi Grant and Shelly, the LWB Sprinter is a great size for Australia, but over here with the narrow roads, having 1m less is easier. Plus I can only drive up to 3.5tonne on a car licence here (4.5 tonne in Australia). I do miss all the kitchen bench space we had in the Sprinter!
Another great video! We're off to italy in April for 2 months from the Uk in our campervan. Its difficult to find out what docs and stickers for low emissions etc you need, so many sites say different things. What did you docs have you found you needed on your trip and where did you get them please. We enjoy your videos and are looking forward to the next one xx
Hi Wendy, a lot depends on your campervan, and how old it is. Ours is Euro5 so we can't go into many city centres. And realistically, we'd never be able to park anyway! We usually leave the camper at a secure parking on the outskirts and take public transport in, which is fun and exciting! We needed the CritAir sticker to drive in France (order online, its about 5€ and they mail it to your UK adress within a couple of weeks). For Switzerland and Austria, you need to buy a vignette to drive on the motorway. We usually google about the low emission zones or congestion zones. They have a lot in the towns in Italy, and they are usually signposted, but you need to be observant!! Lastly, we've only ever been asked for our camper registration papers, even coming to Albania (where we are now) we haven't had to show our Insurance documents yet).
Hi Sue Thank you so much for coming back to me. Ours is a 2018 euro 6 peugeot boxer. We went to France last year and got a crit air sticker. I understand that we can buy vignettes as we enter Switzerland but there's not much info on italy unfortunately. We loved the latest video, of Sicily. We're hoping we'll have time to get there but do want to spend a little time in the black forest either on the way down or on the way back to the UK. Most of our time will be in italy though. Your videos are giving us plenty of ideas😊. Thanks again and safe travels x
@ oh in italy you don't need any vignette, but you do need to pay tolls if you drive on the autostrada (motorway). They aren't too expensive, not like france! You will find you can't go into a lot of the city centres without a permit, but like I said, there's not really anywhere to park in the centre anyway. Much easier to leave the camper outside the centre and take public transport. As we approached each town I just googled [town name] ZTL Map to know if there was a congestion limitation zone..
Thanks so much Sue thats really helpful. We'll be leaving the UK beginning of April and are looking at a route now. What are your plans? Im not sure if youre affected by the dreaded schengen? Thanks again for the info, it's much appreciated x ps just watching your Aussie films, the solo van life with the mice, huntsman and snake omg!!!😱😱🤣 @@nigelandsueadventures
@@WendyFrankham Hi Wendy, we've actually just caught the ferry over to Albania, and will be spending the next few months in the Balkans doing the Schengen Shuffle!! Our van, being German registered, only needs a German MOT every 2 years, which gives us a bit of breathing space. We still have a big chunk of Italy to see (especially around the middle, so we may come back there this year to finish that, unsure of exact plans once our allowance re-sets.
Hi S&N - great blog - spectacular! TFS - the area area always reminds me of the Italian immigrants & their fruit & vegie blocks here!! We are wondering what internet you are using in Italy ? Have we missed you talking about this?
Good question! We will talk more about this next video! We have Starlink for when we are working in the van, and we use an eSIM from Holafly to keep connected when we are driving or out and about.
Absolutely stunning trail. But one has to wonder....WHY? Not why would you walk it. Thant's obvious. But why did anyone think of building on those cliff faces? And surprising they still use donkeys for hauling in 2024-25.

What a beautiful place for a wedding!!
A stunning hike in a beautiful area. Doesn’t get much better than that😀
