its is def gugu.... its been like 7 months since the episode has released and i have seen this episode 100's of times and i still cry every single time
@rocket puncher587 I can see why he did it but if I was Rean I would've rather wanted someone to tell me the harsh truth instead of making me believe he was still alive when he wasn't. Ultimately I'm glad Rean found out the truth though and I don't blame Fushi since he clearly only did it because he cared about her.
Isn’t Fushi around 5 or 6 now? He’s still a child. It’s like we’re watching him go through stages of life through each relationship. First a baby with no knowledge how to do anything, then learning from his mother, next getting close to his brother. I bet next he finds his childhood friends, and later he’ll meet his love. He may even eventually become a father to others. Each stage is deeper and will hurt more. I don’t know if I’m right, but that’s what it seems like to me
He doesn't age like a human though. His growth has definitely been stunted by staying in that one place for too long and the "spirit guy" warned him about that.

Despite being clueless as a child, the current Rean is a smart girl. I think she began to suspect right away that Gugu wasn’t Gugu when she hugged him and he didn’t react like perhaps Gugu would have. When Fushi said that Fushi died, you can see her look at the back of the helmet. She also seemed to test him with the talk about giving back the ring. I think she also may have seen Fushi in March form (that scene where she pushes Gugu to save him from the bear claw swipe), so she may have been able to put two and two together and realize Fushi could take on different forms. As for who my favorite character from this series is, though it would be easy to say it’s Gugu for the reasons you said, I could say the same for Parona. Parona is very selfless, brave, smart, competent, compassionate, and beautiful inside and out. Rean is great too, which is why this episode was especially painful. Not only did Gugu die, but so did Rean’s chance for happiness with her true love. It’s not enough for this show to stab my heart… it has to slice it into little pieces then set it on fire…
Thank you! I’m so glad someone finally came to mention Parona because I feel like she’s done so much more than people give her credit for. She’s the reason why March survived the ritual in the first place and I’m happy to see there are people out there that remember how selfless and badass she was during the March arc
How is it possible for anyone not to love Gugu!? Of course Gugu. But I feel like a bad person to say I like Pioran more than March. Do you remember the scene March refused to accept the dreamy afterlife, then noticed Oniguma's spirit was there and hugged him/her? (not sure about the gender of Oniguma) Gugu may be petting Oniguma now.
I honestly was pissed off at Rean's dad at the end. He goes "Who's this man? I'd like to meet him" as if he hasn't remember who he met at the booze man's store 4 years prior as well as who pulled him out of the collapsing building earlier that day.....you would think he'd take the hint after seeing his own daughter spending so much time with them for the most part, not even an ounce of acknowledgement.
The glowing lights and beam-like sound effects were a bit much for such a thing. Something a bit more subtle like cracking rocks and sounds of steam escaping might've been easier to understand.
Qotd answer: my fav is march but when I rewatched or watched ppl react to this anime i find myself more of a crybaby for Parona (like why shes doin this for march, why she doesn't really care for anything else just saving march cus it kinda showed when march died she kinda loses the only purpose she had to keep on goin cus tbh shes really selfless it really makes sense why shes suicidal) but I think March is still my favourite
Someone I want a way to stop my tears, I literally can't stop crying, I hated the author so much and wished he was dead at the moment, he became one of the most despicable authors 💔💔💔💔💔

I've had that same thought. Though given how quickly he learns and adapts I'd say his current mental age is closer to that of a young teen.
