In March 2021. I had intramural fibroid surgery on the back side of my uterus. After 14 months I was pregnant and in 35 weeks I felt very sharp continuous pain. My gynecologist diagnosed “fetus mortus in utero” but even though I complained of constant pain in my belly (especially from my left and right back sides) he didn’t suspect dehiscence. I came to the hospital and even there nobody suspected dehiscence. They started the procedure of labor induction. Few hours after that I was in hemorrhagic shock. They could not see the rupture on the ultrasound because it was on the back side of the uterus. When they started with the C-section they found half the body of my baby out of the uterus. I was lucky that they saved my uterus. This year, after 14 months of that tragedy I’m pregnant again. Now in 32+4 days. I had an MRI in 29 weeks which showed a 3-5 mm thick uterine wall on the place of the rupture. My doctor (not the same hospital and not the same doctor as in the previous pregnancy) is very positive about the outcome and she told me the time of delivery will be 36 or 37 weeks. We are trying to be positive and brave. It is not easy to regain the confidence in the whole medical system and procedures. Still, we are hoping and waiting for our boy in the first week of November.
