AMAZING 60 YEAR OLD FILIPINA - Philippines Rice Terrace Village In Mountain Province

  • THIS RICE TERRACE VILLAGE IN BONTOC MOUNTAIN PROVINCE IS AMAZING...
This day starts off with a drive from Buguias to Bontoc. But before leaving Buguias, I meet a few awesome Filipinos who also spend time in Canada. After some coffee and snacks... I motor across mountain roads (some with landslides) and make my way to Bontoc.
Bontoc is the capital of Mountain Province, nestled inbetween beautiful mountains, and along a river. Just a short ten minute drive up from the center, you can find Barangay Maligcong. This place is a beautiful rice terrace village that seemingly goes on forever! It was not only stunning to see, but the amazing locals really inspired me. I met a few Filipinas working on the rice terraces... their attitude and vibes were inspirational.
Mountain Province is a beautiful part of the Cordilleras...
The Philippines is home to so many stunning rice terraces with amazing local people who keep them planted and utilized!

These rice terraces are truly a wonder to behold. It's mind blowing to see them here in your video, but I can't imagine how much more mind blowing it is in person. The feeling must be overwhelming when standing in the midst of it. I get that it's difficult work and that the young people want something more than what rice planting and harvesting can provide, however, the thought of no one to carry on this way of life and maintaining the terraces is deeply saddening. Kulas, keep recording these places and the people there as a historical record of this way of life. It will be a valuable record for the future generations to see and understand what built the Philippines into the country it is. Aloha at Mabuhay! 🤙

its very humbling and heartwarming to see how they live their lives so simple and yet so rewarding for themselves. The ladies look so young for their age probably becuz of their innocence of the outside world of technology, pollution, internet and bills. I really admire you Kulas for taking the time to actually "hunt them down" jk,...to talk and get to know them. i hope in the future to meet you and thank you for "Becoming a Filipino" ..u like what i did there..hehe
