Hey Alexia, I've only seen your EMT video so you may have answered this already in other videos but are you still working as an EMT? Also as an EMT did you or do you work with a private EMS agency and if so do you get to run ALS calls, trauma, car wrecks, etc.? I'm starting my first EMS class in August and in my area it's a lot of fire/rescue but I'm not interested in being a firefighter I just want to work as an EMT and hopefully medic one day but a lot of the traumas and "crazy" calls go to fire/rescue and I want to be able to run those calls so just wondering if that's possible in private EMS agencies.
Hi! Yes, I am currently working as an EMT at a private EMS agency. I do run ALS calls and see many traumas, car wrecks, and other “crazy” calls as well as other “non-crazy” calls. You will definitely have a bunch of cool calls as an EMT or paramedic; it’s a very fun job to have! Good luck with your class in August and let me know if you have any more questions! :)
