  • In this weeks landscape / seascape photography video I find myself at Saltwick Bay, North Yorkshire.
First we scout out the location during the evening then the following morning, we return with fingures crossed for a sunrise worth capturing.
Will it work? Will I finally get some light? Will I get away with my blatant homage to Thomas Heaton?
Only one way to find out.... Enjoy the video.
Part of a short series of videos from the North Yorkshire coast.
Thanks to Dave Peck for coming along on this trip.

Great stuff Gary. I'm up there in May (stupid o'clock sunrise time 😞). Where is the best car park for Saltwick Bay please?

      Thanks for watching.
You can park (free) just back from the cliff edge.

Walk towards the caravan park and look for the path down here:

Enjoy! Make sure you keep an eye on the tide.

When we were in the area last time the tides were wrong for the wreck but hopefully this time I'll be able to plan it to allow me to get some images. Is it visible at every low tide? Nice to see you tucking into a full English breakfast after. Let's be honest food and photography go hand in hand 😂

I think its visible every low tide - I've been loads of times and never had a problem. Just make sure you don't stay too long - the tide races in as the rocks are just a big shelf. Once it comes over, its cut off really quick.
As for the food (and the waking up/getting ready...) I was paying homage to Thomas Heaton :-) Even pinched his music :-)

Great location and photos. Love the "wake up" video from 5 minutes in. Reminds me of the old TeamBAD videos.
