I've been a lover of wildlife all my life, so I really appreciate this! I keep a sunflower seed feeder for the winter and a hummingbird feeder for the summer, great entertainment for the cats! I made a table for them right by the window but they can't get to anything!
I’ve stopped there once around 15 years ago. Can’t believe how it’s grown with much more attractions and animals. Thanks for the tour. I’m going to Tucson and Tombstone in a few weeks. Will have to check it out again.
Oh man. That was one of our earliest adventures on our channel when we were trying to figure our what the heck we were doing. LOL. It's SUCH a crazy strange place and just based on our experience there, those animals are in NO danger of going hungry. 😂 Really such a fun, fun place & enjoyed our time there. Thanks for taking us back! 😊
Going to check your video out to see how its changed. We've driven past a bunch of times but somehow never really noticed it before or if we did didn't think to stop (even though we've stopped at the Picacho Peak travel center). Really fun place.
This is one of our favorite places in AZ. We were just here (again) in the Summer of 21. The Lorikeets are the best part. I could sit in there for hours.
OMG that brings back memories of driving from SD to Oklahoma (where my grandparents lived) Hour after hour listening to the hum of the tires on Interstate 8, then I-10 and finally NM/TX hwy70 and then TX/OK Hwy 60. Vici Ok was the final destination. Come to think about it... the roadside attractions were a lot more interesting than Vici, Ok was! They had a collection of attractions more diverse than the Ostrich Ranch. All were a gip joint but my Dad couldn't resist his kid begging to stop!
You should hike Picacho. Yes there's a trail,or at least used to be. I climbed it twice when I was a kid. Near the top the park service installed steel cables to assist in the climb. Pretty steep.
Always brings a smile when driving past..but never stopped because when traveling between Tucson - Phx, I just want to get there....I guess we'll have to stop now, it looks like a lot of fun.
Also the title of the sequel was just Rooster Cogburn. My first thought when I saw the vid title was to wonder how this place gets away with using the name, that would've been a top interesting fact about the place.
Used to pass this area on our way to NM. We stopped once in the middle of winter to feed the ostrich and deer. This was 7 or 8 years ago and I don't think they had the goats or parakeets. Interesting to stop once. haha!
Now that was a cute video. Here in Texas we have a town on the border called lajitas and the mayor is a goat and you can give him bottles of beer and he will drink them lol
I've watched that place grow since he built it. At first only ostrich.. There used to be a restaurant next door that sold ostrich burgers but it burned down! Then he added deer, then the f of goats and donkeys and lorikeets... I miss the place and took all my visitors there. I wonder if Rooster is still alive? The Ostrich Bite sign has been there since the beginning too.😊
They aren't going to start the monster truck rides, they are going to resume doing them. I can't remember why they stopped but I think I heard something about covid and then some issues with one of busses. You should stop and rid the bus around since they take it over some bumps to bounce people around in the back while talking about the natural wildlife in the area. They also give you some sticks with rope to go ostrich fishing from the platform on the back side of the property.
Whoever screamed at 5:25 in the video, I hope their fingers are still intact! Thanks, Steve. Fun video!

I can't believe we never visited before. Have fun in Tucson and Tombstone.
You have some comedy skills MrSteve🤪

Yeah, we all agreed the Lorikeets were the best part too.
I have been there twice in the last few years. Totally worth stopping, lots of fun.
I have a Red Lory. Lol at parakeet feeding stick commentary!
Looks like a fun day feeding the animals 😃👍
That was a different experance, thanks for the share.
Looks like a pretty neat place to visit!
Its a lot of fun.

Yes! I have a similar experience doing road trips as a kid with my dad too.
My Wife and I have to make a point to stop there... Thanks for another great video
Its a lot of fun.
Great video my friend. Keep up the good work.❤
Great video! I love this ranch.

Yeah, it was a ton of fun. We were definitely glad we stopped.
Rooster Cogburn = Name of main character in True Grit I think
Yes, it is.
Also the title of the sequel was just Rooster Cogburn. My first thought when I saw the vid title was to wonder how this place gets away with using the name, that would've been a top interesting fact about the place.
my family bought an ostrich egg there once and we made a giant quiche with it when we got home. had to use a power drill to get into that thing!
A animal lover's dream.

love ostrich! nice video

That sounds incredible. I know there's a town in Japan that has a cat for a mayor or something.
@@SidetrackAdventures sounds like a good politician
I RUclipss this after I drove past it on the 10 driving from LA to Florida. I regret not checking it out.

The old man is still alive.
If you haven’t been to the Antelope Valley Indigenous museum you should go it’s in Lancaster CA
I haven't heard of it but I'll look into it. Sounds really interesting.
That looked like a lot of fun. It sounds like there is some stories related to Picacho Peak too?
Picacho Peak is really cool. Would love to climb it at some point.
Nice business model they have. You pay to feed their own animals that is one hell of an idea. I bet their overhead is cheaper than a zoo
The overhead is actually more than double than it was a year ago, it is pretty high because of government I’ve regulations, maintenance etc.

❤
There is a certain pecking order with birds which the Male gets all his feed until he gives the Female permission to eat too. then all is well.
Parakeets my butt, those are feathered piranhas the way they attacked that food on a stick.
looks to me that the parakeets are being starved
the goats have evil eyes........cute, but evil
They really do.
