More Del Sol please! I skipped right over this car and wished I owned one. My sporty Honda history included 88 CRX Si, 88 Legend LS coupe, 92 Civic EX Sedan, 95 Integra GS-R HB, S2000. Never had a Del Sol but wanted the UK version!!! Instead I owned a 92 MR-2 for a while but it never ran like a Honda.
I bought a 94 del sol with the d16 with a 5 speed for 1200 bucks. Loved that car. So much fun to drive with the top off in the summer. Somehow the cranknpulley bolt worked itself off...probably from the previous owner not tightening it. Then it came off and tested perfectly on the timing cover after I limped it home. Timing cover had a huge hole, all the splines were worn off the crank. All the belts jumped off the pulleys. I sold it for parts for 500 bucks. Last time i checked the guy that bought it put an engine in it and was driving it.
The Delsol and 4th Generation Preludes are now rare cars that you just don't see on the roads anymore. I had a 95 Prelude CDM, I couldn't get it safety for roadworthy condition cause both Rear quarter panels were rusted through.
First of all, love the synergy and quality of your shop. I do wish I had the $ to ship my car for you to perfect it. Secondly, you are doing a dream build for me. From the del sol to the b16 to the turbo kit to the skunk cams its like you are building it for me. Love it down to the old school wheels. Lastly, would love the part number for the fans used in this build, want to do the same to my 97 civic, just bought an aluminium radiator to start this same process, but think I'll be staying with the sohc.
Thanks buddy, I will update the description with the part numbers. I forgot to include those before I tossed the boxes. Lol. Building for efficiency and reliability is always our goal.
My first car and still have it after 20 years, no defects never went to a garage in this time. If something would happen to this one, I buy another one straight away ;)
This was actually my very first car. However mine was a 1996 model year which also had the B16 factory engine (1996 Honda Del Sol VTEC). It was a fun little car to be driving in my high school years.
The attention to detail you guys have is the best like the brass T you soldered together. I would love for you guys to rebuild the tired b18c in my car.

Reeeeeeally nice install. The reason I like watching yalls videos. A friend of mine had one of these and it was a nice car but the only thing I didn't like about it was it wasn't made for "big people". The reason I went with a B16A CRX swap and dont own a S2000, LOL! There was so much more room in the CRX. The Del Sol is a fun convertibl-ish spunky car though with the B motor.

Would you providing the Spal fan part numbers you used for this build? It definitely looks like the Spal fan on the passenger side is much thinner than the factory one since you have way more room for the turbo intake to fit. I’ll look to do the same thing with my build. Also, I love the AC line wrapping to protect it from the turbo heat. I’ll look to do this as well. Another great LHT build!
Hey LHT, really enjoy most of the videos. Bought a 2005 s2000 last week with 29k and good history. I am planning to do the airbox mod that you show in a separate video but wondered it it would leave lean spots in the range if nothing else is changed. Putting in a K& N plus the three modifications to the airbox. Please advise. Thanks, Dean in Oregon
Poor car, it is a survivor because it has avoided being modded all this time. Modder's can say all they want but the truth is modding these cars resulted to the early death of so many of these original b16 and modded Delsol, Civic and Integra. It has been caught one of the worst kind of modder which is focused on the speed and the fast driving experience. With a Turbo it will be driven harder, driven more riskily and experience multiple wear faster (transmission, engine, suspension etc). All a contributor to shorter life and a lump sum in repair/maintenance which many owners and subsequent buyers do not want to pay hence the death of theses cars. There is a reason why modded cars (esp with Turbo) no longer have their original engines/transmissions and/or not even running on the roads anymore like the above example and also why modders do not want a car that is already modded with a turbo.
Just got a 93. Kept in a heated garage it's whole life, owned by 1 person who was older. I am sure you might not answer this but how much did this build cost? This is exactly what I want to do with mine.
