Wow, 80$ is indeed a very good deal for such a good lens. I prefer Vintage lenses for the characteristics you have mentioned over modern lenses, which trade sharpness against everything else, is it worth it? I don't think so. Cheers.
Thank you for sharing your skills. I have the same lens with oily aperture leafs. Do you think maybe I should clean and put new grease on the helicoids as well. Maybe it is old grease that has broken down and caused the problem on the aperture leafs? I don't want to take the lens apart again in another 6 months because I left the old grease in.
It will depend on how confident do you feel about going all the way and disassemble the whole thing, but I think my instructions are clear enough to minimize the risk of something going wrong. Thanks for following my channel, do not forget to share with as many people as you can :)
9:00 With the inner helicoid, which is single thread, I find it better to count how many complete turns it takes to screw in (not out), so on reassembly, screw all the way in and then wind out the number of complete turns, then turn the witness mark to infinity.
I need that grease!! Very smooth !! Amazing job!! 👍👏🤙🇦🇷
it is a grease that normally can be found everywhere. Cheers.
i own this lens, got a deal for 80$! was surprised how sharp, smooth, and colorful the images from the lens are.

That's an idea, I'll try to remember trying it next time I do this kind of repair. Thanks.
great stuff but was the spring 'not' armed when completing the last rear assembly?
Yeah, I think it was the case. I come back and mention that at the end if I remember right. Thanks for following the channel. Cheers.
my marks rubbed off, is there anyway else to line up the helicoils?
Yes, trial and error. You can do marks for each trial, so you'll discard the wrong ones. Cheers.
