I like vito's hair better in the original version. And of course the lights seems a little weird. But in general we can say that the deffinitive eddition has some improvements in texture and face details

Because you have access to Mafia 2 remaster + DLCs, Mafia 3 + DLCs and Mafia 1 Remake in 28 August. But buy each one separately I don't know if worth that much

Thanks for making the comparison as it helped my decision on which version to buy. Right now, GOG has the original on sale for $7.99 thru 6/15 and the Definitive Edition on Steam is $29.99. Not too much of a difference to justify buying the Definitive Edition.
If you buy mafia 2 definitive edition on steam you will also get the original version on steam

A real bisexual petrol-head No no, he has a point. It’s only Minor Texture Changed for the Definitive and it takes over 40 Gbs of storage compared to the 7 gbs. Certain features and details are missing too.
The definitive edition has high resolution textures and better lighting and shadows in some cases. I think the textures in the original game were low res because even the most powerful GPUs at the time had like 1.5GB of vram.

I’ve played Mafia 2 since it came out. The remaster has the exact same feeling with better textures. On top of that, the pc edition has a smoother frame rate than the original

I don’t understand why the orginal is about 8 gbs and the definitive edition is 44 gb, I barely see any difference except maybe for a little better shadow quality
I may be tripping, but isn't because the new one also comes with Mafia 3 and Mafia 1's remake? At least, it's this way in Xbox, I'll check it because i still didn't downloaded yet
@@maty5591 on steam they all download separately, mafia 3 actually has a smaller file size that mafia 2 DE, and both are individually smaller than mafia DE, although the mafia 2 DE file size is a huge point of contension because they didn't visually do THAT much to the game to make up for nearly 30 Gigs of extra data

Mafia 2 classic is enough to be honest. Mafia 2 DE is more like a mod than a DE. I will definitely buy classic.

@Andrzej Kudzma Wtf are you say?, Ps4 Pro can move Horizon Zero Dawn at 4k checkerboard with stable frame rate and smooth experience and can move Star Wars Battlefront ii at 1440p 60 fps... and you tell my is okay for a ten years game run at 20-30 fps with sttutering for no reason. Thease pc fanboys are patetic btw I have a pc too, i5 9400f and Rx 5600xt but I am not the classic pc troll.

Very true the console versions are terrable with bad framerate issues and a few glitches making it almost unplayable I had to stop playing a few hours in because of these problems hopefully they patch it because I want to really enjoy this game without constant frame drops even in cutscenes and sound audio in cutscenes it sound like the audio is coming from the left headphone and no my headset is not broken it's only in this game it happens there are a hole heap of problems with this definitive edition on console

Mafia 2 DE is super buggy. Especially when you get out of the prison. Map textures glitch out everywhere. When you crash your car and the exhausts are suppose to fall off but they rather just spin in circles. They need to fix that

Definitive Edition is just Mafia 2 but with excessive shaders and gamma. No remastered textures, no better graphics. RIP money, we all expected more than this :/

I don't think you can actually call it a ''Remake'' if you have to sit down and closely look for any sort of improvements. Wouldn't waste my money on it, still happily playing the old version.

Quite a failure, waste of time and HDD space! It's simply just a partial change of textures, lighting.... stuff like that. At least if it was an improvement for the entire game.... But IT'S NOT! Look at 0:35: the pavement is obviously better, more detailed in ''Mafia II DE''.... but the stone wall looks worse!! They simply tried to milk again some serious money from a "dead" project by doing some minimal work and presenting it as if it is new project.

Let's face it mafia 2 is by far the best one. Why the heck did they not remaster it like they did the first game. I mean veto at the end of the first game I was like wow here we go so hyped for 2nd.then we got practically no changes and more glitches. 😂😂. WE WANT A BETTER MAFIA II DEFINETIVE EDITION
