"Two foreign old monarchs in battle did join Each wanting his head on the back of a coin If the Irish had sense they'd drown both in the Boyne And Partition throw into the ocean The sea, oh the sea, grá geal mo chroí Long may it roll between England and me It's a sure guarantee that some how we'll be free Thank God we're surrounded by water" - The Sea Around Us That's a much better song than this virtue signalling tripe...the sea is our border...Ireland belongs to the Irish!!!
Least nationalistic wolfe tones listener: (Listen I love irish music and there's basically no exception to that. But really, you guys really do be trying to call "Wouldn't be awesome with there were no division and we should try and work to that" something bad?)
@SimeonJMJ This song contains the opposite of the sentiments of the country of Israel. Israel thrives on the conflict it can create and the territories it can seize from continuously expanding its borders. The whole concept of the modern state of Israel is based entirely on manufactured borders and the idea of a below the surface ethno-state that uses religion as an excuse for war crimes, and which guilts nations like Germany into supporting it because of atrocities that weren’t committed by or against practically anyone who’s still alive. If anything, I’d say Israel is exactly the sort of nation that this song is calling out
@tappytibbons735 Bro, what do you even mean? You know that there being “no borders” would mean that there would be no Russia, no Ukraine, and not any one specific country, right? Like, it’s not saying “There’s no borders in Ukraine and Russia. No passports for Moscow or Kyiv. We all should just give it to Putin. So let’s abandon the Ukrainians and leave”, it’s saying that there shouldn’t be all this warfare and jockeying over borders in the first place. Obviously the song is a bit starry-eyed, as there are, in fact, many very tangible natural borders (mountains, rivers, seas, and oceans, to name a few), and ones that develop naturally outside of the control and puppeting of governments (culture, language, etc.), but if you’re going to troll a half decent song, at least try and be logical about it
Great song i agree with you

@@PersonstuckinMichiganwhat’s wrong with Nationalism? You have a bisexual flag in your profile pic, that’s pretty nationalistic I’d say.

It's anything but. It's lefty tripe sung by the people who have wrecked Ireland.
Glad to see you guys agree with Putin on this one.
