    This here is really what separates the channel from others... He gives you a solid scaffold to ground you and then actually suggests the best ways to build on top of that without getting lost so you're not all at sea. Kudos sir. You could literally write an album of songs just with this one video!
    Other channels would maybe provide a scaffold and then just leave you to it with no direction.

    I think the great thing about this channel and the people involved is the humble approach taken. I've taken time to listen to Jason and Ken's music, and it is pretty bloody good. That these guys and the team are encouraging people to craft their own sound is very uplifting!

    Dude, I stumbled onto your channel four days ago. Even as a dedicated bass player I've learned more than in the last few years.
    I know it's a different video, but you have , hands down, the best Circle of Fifths explanation EVER.
    Thank you from possibly your newest subscriber.

    Sick video Jason, I've loved your videos and they've helped me immensely in coming up with my own riffs and combining them into songs. This one is the cherry on top!
    Thanks for this! Have a good one.

    All good points and definitely helps on the creativity, especially when you’re in the groove and playing well. Those techniques open up the door for other new riffs. Nice video.

      I still don't know how to play. I learned solely on making writing my own. Never learned covers except maybe small pieces to learn a technique, but that's about it. Don't know the name of notes or chords besides your very basic. I play until it sounds good 🤷

    What scale are you using?

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  Год назад +6

      I don’t base any riff or licks on scales; it’s not something I think about at all. It’s just going off what I’m hearing in my head and translating that to the fretboard
