Keep doing your thing brothers. I love to see black men in medicine, we don't have many at all. Thank you for sharing your journey and help people like myself to stay motivated and not to give up on their dreams. I know if I put off my dream to become a doctor I will regret it. So I'm gonna keep going. If you can do it, I can too.

Absolutely! Keep finding ways to improve, talk to people and get help and you’ll be calling yourself doctor in no time (minus the years of training lol)

Do med students not have to have patient care hours before applying? Like working as a medical assistant, CNA, PCT?

Hey Kiana! No you only need shadowing hours. There are some who have worked as EMTs, MAs, etc but that’s just a bonus. They do prefer some patient care hours on applications but from what I remember it’s not required.
