Happened to me just a few hours ago, 2000 Suzuki Bandit 600S. Clutch cable snapped while in 6 gear on a 3-mile bridge! 11/3/21 God helped me make it home safe (along with a friend) RIDE SAFE & GOD BLESS
my red naked 00' recently snapped right at the perch. all that was left was the cylinder. had to ride through ~15 stoplights in 4/10 traffic in a hilly part of town. put in N, pull clutch in to trip safety switch, start engine, push downhill to ~5mph, jam into 1st. that's the hardest part. it will jerk around and shifting will not be pretty but you're off. if you stop it will stall and you will have to go back to rolling it at 5mph. do whatever you can to wait out red lights and if you need to just orbit in a parking lot or something until it's green thanks for the vid, really liked how you were talking to people who are watching and currently stranded LOL
Just wanted to say thansk alot this was entertaining and helpful just schged my clutch thanks to you wry help ful mad love from west keloen bc canada goong for a rude now thanks to you brother
Happened to me today . I was able to Drive without the Clutch for some time untill i got Into my City . Then i got Into First Gear and rode in the Sidewalk . But even there are Traffic Lights every few Meters.. sucks to snap the Clutch
got home found 3 strands left of my cable. I was wondering why it wouldn't shift into neutral. Almost as if the clutch was half engaged. Thats when I looked at my adjuster thinking my cable had stretched a bit and found the three strands hanging on for dear life
My clutch cable broke as I got off the highway going to work. I just left it in third and made the last half mile and parked it there. Left the bike at work while I waited for the new cable to arrive. In the meantime we lost our home in last summer's wildfires. It's likely I would not have been able to save the bike if it had been at home.
Thanks for sharing. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your home, but I'm glad your bike made it. Were you able to get the cable replaced, I guess in the parking lot at your workplace?
We unfortunately don't have the R15 here in the States. The best advice I can give is to just start removing fasteners until you get the fairing loose. Just be patient, and if the fairing isn't loose, look for more hidden fasteners. It also doesn't hurt to have some extra rubber well nuts on hand in case the old ones are dried out. Good luck! Plastic fairings are a pain the first couple of times you have to deal with them, but it does get easier.
Solid video except for, fyi not trying to troll or be a hater, the last part when you explain how to adjust the clutch cable is close to being right, but close enough could lead to your clutch being burned up with or possibly without you realizing it. I'm adding a link to a video that is easy to follow and is 100% correct per the service manual. ruclips.net/video/I1TC2OybT6o/видео.html Like I said, I'm not trying to be a dick, just want to make sure my fellow SV riders are getting the exact info instead of the close enough info. Just had this happen to me. Managed to ride home even in the city by going around the block every time I hit a red light. Haha

Orbiting in parking lots is a good idea! I hope you didn't actually watch this while you were stranded!

Could have cable tied the new cable to the old one before pulling it out to easy feed new one in position.
