I rewatched her US Open run again recently. She played like a goddess. Didn't' drop a set the whole way. The final was incredible. Happy to see she is getting back to that form.
In the last couple of years her critics have sometimes disparagingly compared Emma with her opponent in the finals of the US Open, Leylah Fernandez. While Leylah is out of Wimbledon, beaten in a three setter in the second round by wildcard Caroline Wozniacki, Emma's goes into the fourth round without losing a set.

The draw has been a kind one for Emma, Alexandrova pulling out Round 1 was a big break. She can only beat who is in front of her but I do expect Emma to reach Q/F minimum. The level will have to increase significantly from there on in but reaching Q/F would be considered a success.
Why do you think it's ridiculous? Emma admitted in her answer that she watches videos of herself back. Alcaraz also said he watched videos of himself winning last year to prepare him this time. Seems pretty normal to me.

Emma brings joy to the game of tennis and is particularly suited to big matches and Slams, especially on a fast surface that suits her game. Everyone who sees her play is enthused by her and now that she's added more variety and game craft she's definitely in the mix at Wimbledon. My wish is that Emma stays healthy and happy, so that the world can enjoy her progress to full fitness.

Who cares about clay or other surfaces, as long as Emma excell's at Wimbledon on grass the British public will love her. Ive been playing/watching tennis for over 30 years and heres my take on the Emma situation. I dont think anyone hates her personally. I think people get tired of the overhyping and over the exaggeration of her looks. Yes she won a grand slam, but her best win was Sskkari and not a single top ten player. Then social media went crazy and shoved her in everyones faces. Everyone has their favorite players or players they think are attractive, but the influx of excessive and creepy comments from male fans and the Social media influence get a bit carried away. I dont care what a player looks like. I want to see high level professional tennis. I feel Emma definitely acquired a bit of an ego from the attention and some people dont like that. I personally dont think shes that attractive and that narrative shouldn’t be pushed so hard. In almost 3 years, her results have not been stellar and another win over Sakkri and Pegula who blew a match point, just dont hold the same weight as the would 5 to ten years ago. Federar,Nadal, Serena, Novak, Justine, Iga all won grand slams and never looked back. I would like to hear less about injuries and coaching problems and see consistent results. If she does that, great, she will gain respect that way. People dont want to be told who is great. The player has to earn it
Honestly, I still cannot understand why more people can't say more positive things about Emma! She has been saying that in the past, she was rushing into too many situations, she is now steadying herself and is now taking each match one at a time, she looks so much more composed when she is playing, the patience in her shots and serves - she looks calmer then she has been for a long time. The smile which brings so much joy to the viewers watching her enjoy playing her game. She is just a good human being and I think it is sad that so many people ignore that side to her!
