Hey SwitchUP Family - Whether you’re a cat or a dog person (or neither) this is going to appeal to fans of CO-OP ARPG goodness. Such a reasonable price for the quality of game as well. Anyone picking this up? Mark
SwitchUp most definitely grabbing this one. I was able to jump in and out easily of the first one without trying to remember things. I also easily lost track of time playing the first. Great game.

SwitchUp I had thought about the first game to try with the kids. But with this having actual coop that’s tempting.
Cory the first game is only 1 player, but it is still a great one for the kids.
when I bought my switch I had no money for games right away. I think cat quest 1 was on sale at the time. it's the first game I ever bought and beat on switch. I also ended up buying it physical. preordered the second. Devs said we get a physical if it sells well. cant wait to play!!!!
I can tell you from personal experience, it's a sad day when you find out that your daughter is better at games than you are.

The art style of this game is gorgeous. Reminds me sort of the overworld in Octopath. Let's see where it goes from here.

If you have octopath on pc you can turn off the blurry thing and upscale the graphics. It's a really easy fix and the game goes from looking "pretty" to absolutely gorgeous.
@@JonasRosenven Actually like the Bravely Default battle system more than Octopath's so I skipped it but thanks for the tip.
This has dipped under a fiver (euro) so think I might snap it up now. Oh, and you've gained almost 200,000 subs since this review, GG.

Hey SwitchUp, this is kind of offtopic for this review but I would suggest to include information on the possibility to invert the camera axes in future reviews. I recall Jedi Knight 2 and lately Dusk DIver which do not allow players to invert the y-axis (at least not at release). This would have been a very crucial information for me and I think a lot of other players too. Best regards!

This game looks like a wonderful distraction. Judging from the comments, the first one was very well received and that price point makes it even more attractive. That is a yes for me.

Just got it today on my switch! Its a gr8 game
At last a new game I can recommend for coop play and children. I loved the first one and the coop addition really helps!
I loved the first game. I jumped right into new game + after beating it, but chose poorly when it came to the modifiers and didn't get very far.
The aesthetic made it very beautiful. Its honestly amazing.

Little late for a comment but I just finished this and started New Game + and I still love this game. It's just really entertaining and collecting and upgrading the gear and spells keeps me hooked. Got it for $6 and couldn't be happier!

I finished the original Cat Quest over the weekend coincidentally enough! It was bite sized but addictive gaming. The hours kinda just disappeared and when I looked up it was 1:30am! They managed to distill the ARPG essentials into a light hearted game that anyone could pick up and have a good time with. I'm glad this continued into the 2nd game. They'll prob bundle the 1st and 2nd game together physically.
Ok this review made me buy the first cat quest, even if you didn't need to, just can't wait for what is next for the developer

The first game was such a surprise when i picked it up on sale. It was fun and this one looks just as good. When u played with ur daughter it was purrrfect. I saw what u did there.

I love Cat Quest. Taking down foes with a kitty, what a brilliant idea :D I am a bit concerned about the saving option. So the cat nap cannot save the progress anymore? It seems logical when only one player needs to restore health but.. less useful.

I do not know why, but this is one of my most anticipated titles. The first game tickled my toe beans.
I played the first one when it went on sale a while back, and I couldn’t stop playing it. Since they announced this one I’ve been eagerly awaiting its arrival! Here’s looking forward to loads more un-purr-able puns!

Definitely picking this up. My son and I played the first game quite a bit. Sad that I cannot bring over my character, 'Sir Meows-A-Lot' to this game. lol.

Grabbed the first one after seeing it on GGQ. Definitely grabbing this one, first was so much fun.
I like the concept but this game just feels mobile. I felt the same way about the first one. Personally, I feel looked down upon when things are judged X out of Y stars. I didn't like it in Overcooked and It feels worse here.
Should I pass on part 1 entirely in favor of this? Btw part 1 has a ridiculous sale while part 2 isn’t discounted heavily
Got me thinking they should remaster the Gamecube Four Swords game. Without needing a grands worth of hardware to run it. Nice looking game, cheers for the review x

Playing this with GF in coop in normal mode. WAAAY too hard. Not sure what this BS is. Dying so much it is getting super annoying and are about to quit. And you cannot change the difficulty amidst a gameplay. Only if starting a new game and I don't think we will restart just to set the difficulty appropiatly for this type of game. In the bin it goes then.

I just got 1 and 2 for $11 on sale. I truly have been missing out on this gem. I have to add that ranged for me wasn't necessarily the easiest. I built a tank of a melee character.

Gameplay looks boring and samey. I can't see any inventive puzzles or mysteries that made games like A Link to the Past so magical. Looks beautiful though - can't fault the visuals.

I’ve been replaying this with my dad and it’s a blast. We finished it around a year and a half ago and we are going back through it in preparation for cat quest 3 and the graphics and gameplay still hold up 5 years later.
When I was looking at the reviews for the game kitaria fables all I could find in thr comments were "get cat quest is better for the same price and they've even got cat quest 2 now &its better than this&star dew valley is better at farming between those 2 u have this " paraphrasing the majority of what the reviews said

This is quite a fun game but my only gripe is the framerate slowdown when a lot of action is happening during battle.

I picked up the Telltale Batman games on Switch so have been playing them all day!
I was looking for a Secret of Mana type local coop game for my small kids that are gaming for the first time. So glad I found this gem. They absolutely love it and it is their first day playing. It has more complicated mechanics than Secret of Mana or any SNES game for sure but no where near as complicated as any other ARPG such as Diablo series that would require at least 8 yr olds to get into. This game is just the perfect game to introduce kids into gaming

After watching this i went on to Steam and downloaded the demo of cat quest ...What a let down on the PC , very lazy port no key-board remapping you have what you get...shame.
Hi switch up been watching ur reviews, lovin it so far. May I ask if cat quest 2 can also be played single player mode like cat quest 1? And can I disable that white partner of the main character?
Another who got the first on sale and loved that simplistic play style. Just pick up and play. Laugh at the silly jokes and not put any real thought into it. So will be picking this up.
