You can access your spirit storage even when the research center is closed by interacting with the shaking box at the back :)
Also might be worth adding you can change the difficulty at any time for things like the card battling if its not for you. Same for fishing. The day length can also be changed at any time too.

I would have liked to hear more about the relationships aspect and have had that included in the gameplay score, but maybe that's just not Mark's cup of tea😆 Definitely a key aspect for girls like me!
I just got it so I cant say too much in regards to the relationships except that in the beginning its very basic and I wish there was a little more dialogue from npcs but i love all the designs and i imagine theres just about something for everyone. My favorites are ossono, cleo, ferra, and magic man
Just started "I was a Teenage Exocolonist" and it is a peak game! I'll have to wait on this title, but I'll be sure to pick it up as soon as it goes on any sale

I've already played this on steam, the only down side for me on this game is the lack of variety monsters and its short after 18 hours, i already finished the game. I am not a completionist but after finishing it, there's are no other things to do after post game.
Looks gorgeous but sounds like a big commitment for me personally. I don't know about managing all those systems at the same time. Thanks for the review.
This looks fun but the card mechanic is one that’s never gotten it’s hooks in me.
Great review. Been looking forward to this one and seems to run fairly well on Switch. Only downside for me is that it doesn’t seem you can customize your character at all.
Haven’t watched more than 15sec yet but I’m loving the artstyle and colors

Is there an option to adjust text size? That looks very small and worried it won’t look any bigger on my tv based on my experience with other games I had similar impression with. Also the music choice is strange I agree and I’m not particularly liking the idea of the game not giving you enough freedom in what you want to do in game… hmmm might wait for a sale…

I’m liking it so far. But everything is too small. The text, the characters, I was wanting an option to blow things up since this is a handheld. It’s different on PC where it’s a TV or monitor.
Also the repetitive music is driving me nuts.
Most of these elements sound great for me but I’m not a fan of card battling, shame. Thanks for the well balanced review Glen

I am so obsessed with this game right now. Is it perfect? No. Is it charming and captivating? Yes.
You can still get the creatures from storage when it’s closed at the computer in the back
I keep trying to like this one, but when I play it, it makes me grumpy. I think it's like you say, there's so much you're expected to do and you can't really do it all at once. I love the dungeons and exploring, but less so needing to craft things and feed things to be able to continue on.
Yes you can Take monster in the lab even when it s closed you have to go in front the machine behind the desk 😂

Sounds like a really fun game but do the creatures “evolve”?? I’d get pretty bored if the creatures I level up don’t actually appear to be leveling up.

I’ve come to the conclusion that farm sims and monster collection games are not my jam, so I’ll definitely be skipping this one. Now Echoes of Wisdom on the other hand…
This looked really awesome until it showed the cards for battling. I think pokemon has the best battle system, so it's probably why I'm biased for that turn based style. I will probably give it a shot though as the price is not too bad. Thanks for the great review.

Please stop comparing every game that exists to some other game. Moonstone island is not "stardewmon" its moonstone island and it's incredibly disrespectful to the passionate dev team to imply that their game is just some knockoff of existing titles. Stop it
This game is exactly Stardewmon! The video is for perspective players to contemplate purchase, not some official avenue for developer feedback. So....Stardewmon is in fact a very helpful descriptive little graphic to have on a thumbnail of a video like this.. There has got to be something more constructive and personal to you for you to fight for me thinks.. maybe log off here and there.

I love how farming sims were a niche genre before but now we got a bunch of then with different flavors. A buy for me.
Does anyone know if this game has UI sizing options?
Why is the UI in these games always so frickin small. As someone with visual impairments I a) I can't see the text because its small and black text on a deeply bright white background. b) the icons are too small. c) This is going to be completely illegible in handheld mode.
There is a reason subtitles in movies and games should be white/yellow text on black background. Because its a lot easier for people to read.
I would literally buy every one of these farming games because I love the genre, but there is a reason I stick with Stardew: You can scale the UI and Camera independently from one another. All these games borrowing ideas from Eric but they fail to include any of his good UI ideas.
Its not just this one game, so my annoyance isn't targeted at any specific dev, but not every person has pinpoint perfect vision. Especially not when gamers are all getting a lot older!
I feel you, I have 20/20 vision technically but I get headaches from small/hard to read font. It blew my mind in Stardew when I realized the entire UI was resizeable! It's just such a shame nowadays that most devs work on their games while sitting a few inches from a large monitor.
@@mewichigo3410 Yeah it is a shame. The jump to HD visuals over a decade ago also caused issues with small text in some AAA games. That mostly got course corrected by the big publishers. As much as I criticise Nintendo for lacking in accessibility options, they at least have big fonts in their games and consider what games need to be on smaller screens.
I think the main issue with a lot of indie games is they create pixel art fonts at a 1:1 scale, which is always too small.
Icagree..I ended up selling my copy of f.e three houses cos it was impossible to read the tiny text!
I'll definitely be picking this up, maybe not for some but I've been looking for a game that smushes all the different genres together 😁

I have been waiting very anxiously for this to come out on Switch! I love the idea of monster taming and farm sim with turn-based card-based battles. Sad to hear that the shops are closed at various times/days. That's one aspect that irks me in farm life games, but then I come from mainly a turn-based JRPG background where nothing is closed ever and time doesn't matter. That's been the hardest adjustment for me when I first got into sim/farm life games. I like taking my time and not having to remember who's open when.
Anyway, I'll probably still wait for a sale, more because I have so many other games to play right now. I still need to finish Sea of Stars. But Moonstone Island is one I can't wait to dive into.
Thanks! Yeah, there are a few odd quirks such as keeping the shop closing aspect, it also auto-pauses very quickly if you leave it which, again, is at odds with putting the controller down for a moment to wait for aforementioned shops to open! Glen

@@AngelREvilyep came here to say the same and from my perspective the shops closing has very little impact on gameplay. Ive played maybe 10 in game days and only gone to shops to turn in some quests and upgraded a few tools and bought a fishing rod. So far the shops seem kinda underutilized so if i want to go the the shop i wake up and gather some resources or fish or try to find people to socialize with for a few in game hours then buy whatever and go out exploring

Me 2 but unfortunately the dev has no plans to make a physical for the time being so I downloaded it. Maybe if they do I’ll grab it also but highly unlikely atm maybe if it does good.
Is there a way to increase the text/font size or the UI in general? It's a bit too small for me to read and interact with. I apologize if I may have missed it from the video.
No, there are a few adjustable options within the game but text size isn't one of them I'm afraid. Glen
@@SwitchUpYt Thanks for your response! Unfortunately this seems to be a trend in the industry which could be an easy option to include to make games more accessible if done in development by not making text boxes and other items in the UI static.

This is the one thing that really bothers me in games nowadays, they don't take into account text size on consoles 😢 Ah well, I'm probably getting it anyway because it looks so good. Time to bust out the reading glasses 😂
The age-old problem with a PC game being ported to a handheld. It wasn’t meant for this tiny screen. For this reason and others, I might be returning the game.

@@That_Lady_Charlie games tend to lack accessibility options in general imo, but the fact that SO MANY developers don't consider text size in their games is crazy to me!

Can you say more? All I could find on RUclips was a tabletop game and 'Moonstone: A hard days knight', but neither seemed related to 'Moonstone Isle.'

I feel like I have already played this game over and over within other games. Will be a pass for me.
I wish they stopped doing games with day timers. I just wanna play and relax without having to run around looking at a clock. Rly despite thats what all farm games come with now.
As I said, I am not a big fan of card based combat, but I definitely gotta try this thing. It looks like there's so much to do before you manage to 100% the game X)

I kinda feel like they made this game just for me. Stardew + Pokemon + Slay the Spire sounds too good to be true.
This game sounds like the Trifle Rachel makes in that episode of Friends, but in a good way.
sadly the game is a pass for me. pokemon type games are boring for me, and i never was a fan of the card set ups. oh well. the island concept is cool at least.
