Well, everyone's voice change as they get older, it's a hormonal thing I guess. Siouxsie is still a great performer though, one of the best around, not only for her vocals but also for the way she looks and acts, she really is a Queen! I love you Suzy!
She has become from punk rock queen to soulful diva with her new voice. After finding performances of her from 2004 and probably even before that in 2000 or so, her voice is different now. She can still sing but unfortunately doesn't have that amazing resonant voice she used to have. Well, she is also older which naturally brings her voice lower. I still like her new songs though..it fits her style now.
Dorit, what I meant was that hearing Siouxsie put me in the alt wave of the 80's, and I honestly love it. So, it wasn't Siouxsie's music necessarily, but the fascination "she introduced me to" for the goth wave of that age. Because wether you like or not, she IS associated with that movement.
And by the way, I'm completely obssessed with Siouxsie, so I have certainly read and seen about 70 interviews. Yes, I am young, which doesn't mean I don't go to online newspapers, or be everywhere where Siouxsie name is.
True, musically they did fit that genre. But she's more associated with punk acts like The Sex Pistols, and got her start in that scene. Whatever you'd call it, the music's better than anything out there today!
Well, personally I think she's better than ever... She Rocks and I loveeeeeeeeeeee her very much... I'm becoming a Gothic because of that lady up there!!! Anyways, GA SIOUXSIE AND COME TO PORTUGAL DAMMIT!
Siouxsie is well beyond any category and well beyond the "goth" one. Even though I enjoy now & then a bit of goth music, I think artists that are 100% within a category are not really interesting
I don't really care what people think. Being goth is not about Marilyn Manson. Anyway, Siouxsie did not have quasi-goth songs... Juju and Tinderbox are as goth as one can be! I know she prefers being called punk, but wether she likes it or not, she will always be remembered as one of the first goths.
This is why most artists will say however you wish to interpreted their art is ok with them. Actually the main meaning of this song for me at this time is the more shallow sexuality of her voice and dancing or to put it another way my beath has been taken away
... she is definitely NOT closely associated with any "goth" movement. If you've read so many interviews, you'd know she's more often referred to as a "punk icon." Musically, the banshees had a few quasi-goth-rock songs but they were never in that scene. And I'd be careful about saying you're "Becoming a goth." People imagine teenagers wearing pancake makeup to the mall. Glad you love Siouxsie, though! xoxo
What a kick-ass performance.
Siouxsie Sioux is the best singer EVER!
I get the feeling she's been wanting to do cabaret style music for awhile. Good to see her having fun.
God,what a voice.Still spellbinding!

Nobody else should ever sing with her!!!

thanks for putting this up! Siouxsie is the best. What has become of Budgie? Did he play on this new album at all?
They were fine. The two with the "Ice Queen" shirts from New York. But it is not needed. Siouxsie alone is primo.
