The bass sound is what ruined this album for me I like this album better then the one before it but the bass mix causes me headache and is the same on every song. Adam's choice ruined this album for me I cant physically listen to it though im a huge fan and like the album. He ruined it
This whole album was super underrated and way better than Innocence and Experience IMO. This song is classic U2. A super catchy Edge riff, funky melody, and meaningful lyrics/messaging.

I 100% agree with Brian Eno that Moment of Surrender should've been the first single. An epic soulful song would bring a strong statement, getting away from the standards of "Vertigo", which in my view they tried to replicate with Boots.
Bob Dylan came up to Elvis Costello at an event and said to to him '”U2! How could they do that to you? How could they take your song like that?” It took Costello a couple of minutes to realize Dylan was talking about this song, which has parts derived from Costello’s “Pump It Up”. But Dylan was also taking a jab at Costello, because “Pump It Up” was derived from Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues”. Costello then pointed out that Dylan’s masterpiece (and all three of the above songs) were derived in part from Chuck Berry’s “Too Much Monkey Business".
