The revelation that has me floored here is that Bowens filled in on the song. He didn't really know it that well?? Seriously?!?? I've listened to this song countless times in awe. Less is more as long as it's executed properly. Thanks for this as always Sean.
So while this is another winner of a breakdown, the MVP here for me is the chord BEFORE this. The assist goes to the F minor 7. That setup was absolutely EVERYTHING. When you hit it during the breakdown it was so satisfying, but then in How Great, I missed it! The chord is sweet, dont get me wrong. But when you set that thing up, that was when I turned my face up! lol Your videos always have these hidden gems! We have to look for the stuff you are saying!! This a genius video SEAN!
Listen man I think him not knowing the song allowed him to allow God to use him to properly interpret that song musically, and under the anointing. This song was in my head for years and how Parris masterfully executed the piano accompaniment. This is a model song I use to assist me in my accompanying vocalist.
Hi Sean you can put subtitles in portuguese please, i really like your classes, but i don't understand the explanations i just understand the movements, thanks.
@@SeanWilsonPiano I see recently was looking at where tritones come from and it occurred to me that it is from dominant chords but I wasn't very sure until this confirmation!
Adding on to what Sean is saying, the key thing to know for a tritone is that it relates to your bass note (root) as the 3rd and flat 7 of the related scale. Also, there's only 6 total tritones.
Think you may have missed this one bro, just a tad. It's more of a G minor over F. Just playing the F as the bottom note rather than the Bb. Great work your doing for the musicians though. Keep it up!
I dont get it. Why would someone want to learn how to play 1 chord for 1 song? Why not just teach people theory so they can learn how to make their own chords for all songs?
This brother, Parris Bowens here is one of the most humble, intelligent musicians out there. Thanks Professor
Sean Really Good Keyboard sounds

Rip to this legend
Brother Parris , a genius, legend, soldier, high priests, giver, a loving son, husband and father.
I had the pleasure to work with him on a video shoot a couple of years ago. He and his family came in and you could immediately feel the love.
Yeah man, check out the live chat above too, he came by... just to chat with the folks during the video

@@SeanWilsonPiano yes lol thanks. It caused me to really consider the set ups!! Im missing out if I dont include a good one!
That quick 2-5 of Eb a minor 3rd above C Major was so smooth bro!
Y’all be catching everything man, now I gotta go listen to what you talking bout doc!
@@SeanWilsonPiano lol 9:39-9:41
Nice catch lol, cause right after the Eb lick I said “I’m in C” ... stop catching all my hidden stuff man, let me be great lol!! 😂
@@SeanWilsonPiano you know I gotta catch it lol 😂
@@MusiqExpress So with this, could you use a 2-5 from a minor third to approach the 1? Example 2-5 (in Eb) to approach the 1 in C?
Sean you are a beast
I love his sound.
It was played nicely the way he played it on the recording. Sometimes busy can be bad.
Parris Bowens met him in 09 he is a gift
Really nice movement love using the dominant chord on the 2
This video made my day
That chord gon' have you shouting "thank you Jesus" when you hear it in church 🤣🤣
yessir!! 🙌
Parris the influence minister😊
Nice voicings
Yo I love your work! Not taking anything away from P but I head mike b with that chord yearssss ago!!!!!!like over 10 -12 years ago lol😂😂
And he probably wasn’t the first either, my motto is there’s no new chord under the sun at this point, Everything is placement and how they use it
I would love to see how you approach a simple ccm song
Rip Master Parris Bowens
Yeah man 😕
@Sean Wilson thank you for this lesson.. can you please break down Darrel Walls He's able remix.. I love the intro
Please breakdown Jamar Jones and Quenells album
That is a really nice collab they did!
Thanks Señior man for the dhope chords
Definitely man!

Good stuff man!
It's cool.
Sean, what piano is that and what sound???🔥🔥🔥
Man, I spend a lot of time trying to get a perfect sound before every vid, I need to save the soundtrack levels... its just piano+EP
Yeah...sounds very rich, nearly acoustic 👌🏾
Rip.
Man R.I.P smh
could you look at this as a 2-5 substitute from the relative major?
Hey Sean could you do a tutorial on the chords and piano voicing in the song Perfect Peace by Marvin Sapp (original by Keith Pringle)
I am incorporating the record
Isn't the chord Parris doing in the live different? It seems more like a 2nd inversion Gm/ F. But the record version definitely is a 9 13 chord.
btw... you're AMAZING
Yeah im frustrated lol here im giving these away 🎹

Do you have courses on tritones?
Not specifically, but you'd benefit more from studying dominant chords, which are where tritones come from, and I do have a course on that
@@SeanWilsonPiano I see recently was looking at where tritones come from and it occurred to me that it is from dominant chords but I wasn't very sure until this confirmation!
@@AMAZING_INSIGHTS776 yup, it is a dominant chord without the bass note... basically a rootless dominant

The source of that video?
The video is on the ig of Parris bowens
@@Edmond812 Thanks
Are these some sort of diminished chords???
If you don't have musical singers who are sensitive to modulation, key changes, passing chords, this performance is very difficult to execute.
Fair point doc
Whew😷😷

It’s not one chord for one song. You get to practicing and apply it in different genres and songs in your style
This is not a song tutorial. It’s analyzing how a chord is used. Song tutorials are on the 1st week, generally
It's about application. You have to start somewhere to build a musical vocabulary.
