    Time Stamp is the right thing to do. Saves people so much time.
    Not everyone watches the whole video. And so many big name RUclipsrs don't do time stamps. 🙄🙄🙄
    Gave you a subscribe and like for this video.

    • @nerdemporium
      @nerdemporium  Год назад +2

      Appreciate it! I can understand why some people don't include them, RUclips cares a lot about 'audience retention,' if people don't watch your whole video then RUclips is less likely to recommend it to others. But as someone who consumes quite a bit of this kind of content myself, I know I always appreciate the timestamps, so I include them when I can.

    • @thatminimalisttrainer
      @thatminimalisttrainer Год назад

      @@nerdemporium thanks for typing. I don't understand and can't be bothered to understand. Once I see no time stamp, I usually don't watch the video, even if it's a topic I like. One only has so many hours a day to spend & just like these people wouldn't lose anything from me as an audience, I also don't lose anything by not watching their Videos because there are other choices.

    Happy to own every game on this list other than Ar Tonelico, though I do have Atelier Iris 1 and 3 on the PS2 and enjoyed them both a lot. Overall I think this is a great list! Star Ocean 3, Rogue Galaxy, and Radiata Stories were a few of my favorites to see here since they're all fantastic games but don't always get as much mention as others. In terms of Radiata Stories being remembered I think there are some references to it in the newest Star Ocean game, though I still need to play that.

    10) Rogue Galaxy (Space Pirates are cool, especially because of people like Leiji Matsumoto R.I.P.)
    9) Final Fantasy X (In my book, the last hurrah of Final Fantasy's greatness, at least until Final Fantasy XVI sets everything right)
    8) Growlanser: Heritage of War (Mainly for Satoshi Urushihara's character art)
    7) Drakengard (Just simply put, one of the best dark fantasy storylines this side of Berserk)
    6) Shadow Hearts (H.P. Lovecraft in my JRPG? SOLD!!)
    5) Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (Best SMT game in my humble opinion)
    4) Front Mission 5 (Best damn VOTOMS RPG I've ever played)
    3) Ring of Red (Best damn dieselpunk re-imagining of Gundam 0083's plot)
    2) Dragon Quest VIII (Final Fantasy XII may have been more anticipated, but there was no doubt in my mind that this was one of the GOATs on the PS2)

And people are still commenting about me not including Kingdom Hearts 2 and Dragon Quest 8 lol

      So, I'm a little weird here. I put Persona 4 Golden over Persona 3 FES, but put FES over base Persona 4. I feel like the rebalancing, the extra month, the Adachi social link, Marie and her whole storyline, and all the other additional content and quality of life stuff really elevates it. Not that base Persona 4 isn't also good, but I try not to let one developer dominate these lists for varieties sake, and since Atlus already had two entries it had to be cut. Persona is my second favorite overall JRPG franchise of all time, though, so sympathize with the statement.

    Dark Cloud's fatal flaw is the weapon system. You merge weapons to make better ones and they have a health bar. The problem is combos cannot be broken so if you start a combo and your weapon doesnt have enough health it's destroyed.

As for FF10 I despise it with a passion. It changed everything and FF has never been the same since. I really hated that infamous plot twist in Star Ocean 3 and it happened right when the game was finally starting to get interesting. It doesn't help either that I was a huge fan of Star Ocean 2 (way better item creation and private action interaction than SO3) and the idea that everything which happened in that game (some of which references legit science concepts like the idea of a big crunch) is made a mockery of as some MMO nerd's virtual fantasy is garbage. Star Ocean, as a series, is dead to me after the first two games.
    My top 5 list for PS2 in no order:
    FF12
    SMT Nocturne
    Metal Saga
    Breath of Fire 5
    Shadow Hearts 2
    The PS2 era is when I started to fall out of love a bit with JRPGs, perhaps in part because I didn't care much for Square's initial offerings on the system (namely FFX and Kingdom Hearts). They really let me down compared to how good they were on SNES and PS1. I think that, overall, there were a lot of decent to good JRPGs on the PS2, but few genuinely great ones. PS2 was still maybe the third best console for JRPGs overall, but I think SNES and PS1 are #1 and #2, respectively.

The battle character models have the lowest followed by the models used in the field followed by cutscene models when the focus was on that one particular person. But in cutscenes sometimes they still use the field models when they were not the focus of the cutscene or they were in the back and it really sticks out when it's in hd.
