One of my favorite covers from Glee. Such a shame that this is the only cover that features the trio of Amber, Naya, and Jenna (there are times when they sang in the same group performances though). Of course there are Naya and Amber duets/group performances where they both sang lead and those were always so good. Absolutely love the a cappella vocals in the opening by Naya in this cover. Jenna is a great singer and I wish her vocals were utilized more in the earlier seasons. You will hear more of Jenna's voice in the later seasons.
Exactly we needed more of Jenna. This proves that she can hold her own with Naya and Amber. During her part in this song, I noticed that Naya even smiles at Jenna in a way of saying "yess girl".
I think Jenna sounds beautiful. I like the layers in Naya's and Amber's voices, but I love the soft tone from Jenna too. It's one of my favorite performances by Jenna.
I think this isn't about her being a bad singer, but more that in this performance you could tell Naya and Amber have a stronger layer to the song than Jenna... I love Jenna's voice but when you put her in a song with Naya and Amber you can tell she's one of the weaker ones....
Sugar is the girl on the end, canonically in the show she's tone deaf and they never let her sing solo bits. Idk why they didn't have Brittney sing though.
Hands down my favorite song from Glee. I get goosebumps every single time. Super excited for this one:) I think you've covered all my top songs at this point! It's been years since I've seen these so thank you :) Two fun ones you haven't hit - Let's have a Kiki - super fun and random mash up Don't dream it's over- I adore Cory Monteith in this one
This episode will always be so powerful, especially the ending. So many people ask why victims don’t get out of abusive situations and blame them for staying. Truth is a lot of times these abusers prey on victims who believe no one else could ever love them, that they have to stay. They destroy their self-worth, their ability to feel worthy of love and kindness. I think that came across very well in this episode, and why it’s so heartbreaking. Survivors of domestic violence should never be blamed, they deserve to feel loved because they are worthy of it. They are not broken, and they are strong even if they fall back into their abusers grip. Listening to their stories and re-affirming that strength is incredibly important.
You should check out more of Jenna Ushkowitz songs ong glee, I suggest these: Because you loved me More than a feeling (duet with darren criss and her best performance on the show imo)
Thank you for covering this, it is a moving response to the situation. No one is alone! and wide awake are also lovely duets. Love is a battlefield is a super duet too. Hope you cover these as they have not been looked at since Glee aired. Thanks
Jenna (Tina) is one of the best vocalists on Glee and has in my opinion, one of the best tones and can harmonise so so well. It’s a shame that her talent was slept on, on the show but also when vocal coaches react to her singing…
this is one of my favorite songs on glee. i sometimes go back and watch this performance every once in a while and i'll be honest, i never once noticed the man in the background smiling. i was too focused on the ladies singing.
After this Episode Shanon/ Beast actually got the courage to leave her Boyfriend. I always get goosebumps with this emotional Song and Shanons emotions showing on her face ='
can I jus say I adore you and I appreciate the respect and love you have for Naya I watch you reacting to her scenes and I can see you feel similar to alot of us she was such an amazing talent gratefully we have these performances but it still hurts its so bittersweet and you pay reverence to that so thank you 💚
I'm escaping DV and Abu$€ right now and this hit me. HARD. Because escaping can be lonely and impossible even when people pretend to care. I'll post today's journal of mine as a comment, and I'm a total gleek and I stream! Maybe I could be on a podast some time. Reach for the stars?
How does society get to use you, chew on you, shove your head underwater and then let you breathe for just a second before reminding you their intent and your place. Why when escaping abuse do we constantly hear "you're.... like..... too much right now... call me when you're 'better'". I will 'get better' because I'm stubborn as he-double hockey sticks, I have a fierce love for my children, and really want this world to be a better place. Please think of this the next time a harmed person blesses you with sharing their pain. Even recovering abuse victims need people, sometimes more people than normal even, but we're given zero. We're too much. So the cycle of abuse continues to drown us. We know we aren't worthwhile
Apparently, Jenna said they were supposed to do an original song for this episode, but it didn’t get appoved, so they had to quickly record this song for the scene.
It even more touching when you consider the original song they performed before they, in the episode not the actresses, found out why they were performing.
Ohhhh please pretty please do Home/Homeward Bound next? I know how much you love Naya and Amber together. Ohh and We Are Young. I have a feeling you will love those!
I never minded the guy smiling in the background, my focus was squarely on Mercedes, Santana and Tina...on Glee it was like the musicians were in their own worlds anyways. P.s- why Sugar and Brittany are there 🤔 I dunno. They're not singing and I don't really consider them eye candy. I guess it's for emotional support in the moment for Coach Beast.
At first I skipped this scene when I was watching this episode because I had some work to do but then I was confused about what was going on and I was thinking “Is Coach Beiste crying happy tears or sad tears?” so I went back and watched the Shake It Out scene.
Omg gosh this video is amazing I love how you watch videos then we get to watch it and I love the video you picked out and their voices is awesome and I subscribed also turned on the notifications 💕 💖 ❤️ 💗 ♥️ 😀
Please react to wide awake in season 5. Its performed by tina, jake, kitty qnd unique. I think It would be a beautiful song to react to and had brilliant vocals
Sugar Moto (spelling?) was the girl to the right of Mercedes. They established during her first appearance that she can't sing at all, but her family had money to donate to the Glee club and, well, they always seem to need funding, so she was accepted. Her character has had a couple of arcs and she performs with the group, strangely, but never solos or anything.
I never even thought about the cast not being told exactly the meaning behind what song they were singing. That just sounds crazy to me because they do need to show emotions as they sing.
That was the guitarist who said that. The girls were there throughout the episode so obviously they would know the story. It still doesn’t make sense for them not to tell the band what was going on though.
You need to react to Cell Block Tango to get the first half of this story. At least the song sections of the story. Love this song. Love the reaction. I always get choked up. Bieste is my favorite character. I really do need to join your Patreon!!! Your videos are amazing!! Going to wait til the first of the month though, given there is only 5 days left. lol
you should react to Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For or Don’t You (Forget About Me) from glee. they’re honestly some of my absolute favorites Edit: plus Loser Like Me (the acoustic version) and My Life Would Suck Without You if you havent dont them already :)
You should listen Prayer for the broken by Naya....its from her album but not released because she pass...its a massive and beatiful song.....sorry my english, i'm from Brazil and not much good on english
hi! my suggestion for another glee reaction video is either or both diva and diamonds are a girls best friend/material girl. both were performed in season 4 and i think you would love them as well
This episode ENDED me. I was so excited for Coach Beiste to get a romantic interest and then THIS!!!! Oh, my heart went through too much watching this episode.
Could you please do a reaction to “No one is alone” from season 5??? You’ll get to it eventually with the watch parties anyway, but I really think you’ll like it!❤️❤️❤️
@@hunterbyrne8047 yeah, i only listened to her on Glee and i think most of her are bad like I kissed a girl is a terrible song, i think most of her songs are unflattering to her voice. I'm gonna search for her work outside of Glee
Not only that, sometimes she seems like holding her singing back, like she's not doing all she can do. Many fans assume that the writer really told her to sing like that, that "okay" singing. And even further assume that they edited her voice. She is definitely one of the strongest vocalist of the entire cast as proven by her live singing, but Glee barely let her doing something like that. We should remember her character was supposed to be "secondary" compared to Rachel/Mercedes/Santana. They got to showcase all of their potentials (especially Naya) on Glee as proven that they were featured in many good songs and got the leads. While Jenna didn't get much songs and some of her songs are bad. And when she was featured in group songs she mostly just sing back up..
I feel like Jenna/Tina was really mistreated in Glee as she only get few screen time and a few songs, and once she got the songs I feel like they really tone her down. When I hear some of the casts sing live, they surely not as good as the recording. But for Jenna, her live singing are way better 😂 It's weird since the studio version supposed to fix vocal mistakes and make it better but I don't think they apply it to Jenna. They did applied it but only to make her sound bad or not as good as her real voice :( And her voice is actually way fuller, and singing in a breathy voice isn't really her style. She could, and she did do it sometimes, but Jenna is actually more of a belter. And she rarely belt in Glee lol
I love how Naya started it out and Amber finished it by putting some stank all over that thing! I also loved this this was one of the rare moments where Tina had a chance to shine, they all blended so well together. While this was such an emotional episode I always laugh just thinking about the faux pas the girls made at first by singing "Cell block tango". I loved that performance but under the circumstances it was a terrible choice of songs. Then Nene Leakes had one of the best reactions to them singing it, which led to us getting this gem.
Tina had several solos and duets and featured in songs throughout the run of Glee (especially the first four seasons), plus her own share of story arcs, so not sure where the "rare moments" comes from.
@@kev7161 It's true that she had solos especially in the later seasons but I hate to say that many of them are unremarkable. This is why I said a rare chance to shine because I love her in this. This one and "Because you love me" were ones where she really had the chance to shine. I liked "Jumpin Jumpin" as well but it didn't showcase her voice as well as the first two I mentioned. IMO Tina was underutilized on the show.
@@TroubleD123abc To be fair, it was a show with 3-4 leads and then about 15 other characters running around for the writers and music directors to try and focus on when they could. Not to mention a whole slew of guest stars taking some of that spotlight. I feel a lot of favorites were probably underutilized according to different viewers.
@@kev7161 very true. I realize that there was just so much talent on that show. I just always felt that as one of the true original glee club members, before even the Unholy Trinity joined, we would have gotten a little more of her. I did relish the moments like these, though.
The other girl isn’t featured because Sugar isn’t a very good singer in the show though she is singing in this song. The actress however irl can sing and found it hard to sing badly in the show.
Another person who doesn’t appreciate Jenna Ushkowitz. Same story, different day. One of the only people from Glee to have a career on broadway because she’s that talented. She was one of the strongest vocalists on the show, so it’s a shame no one gives her any credit.

Its hilarious because Vanessa Lengies can sing but they wrote Sugar tone deaf and its sad
The harmonies in this song reach right to my soul. Mercedes is killing it with the runs, and Naya's voice kicking it off was perfect...R.I.P
when jenna gets to shine she’s one of the best singers on the show, it’s a shame she was rarely able to show how talented she was on glee

Brittany’s and Sugar’s solos were really good in this :)
