It turned out great! 💖 I feel inspired to try this, probably will start out with making one for my son (he’s 7 and he enjoys the books almost as much as I do!) 💖 I actually like the length on yours and again you did a great job on it!
Amelia Grace Forever Aw thanks, I even had a SPEW badge I wish I still had. My mom used that awful spray hair color to give me brown hair, and it also made it extra messy. I remember it stained the bathtub 😂 (I replied from the wrong account first 🤦♀️)
As a first try on pattern drafting, you've done AN AMAZING JOB!!! You look super cute in the finished robe :)! A tip to next time: mockups are a thing, especially armscyes. sometimes I only do the top portion closest to the body and the top of body, stopping at mid chest. Then the mockup won't take as much fabric, but still do it's job. Often on robe like clothing the armscyes are deeper down to the waist, and generally done in a series of rectangles. I applaud you for trying a fitted sleeve instead!!! If the difference between the sleeve and armescye isen't that big, try easing the lager piece to the smaller one, tiny gathering stitches. Gusset in the underarm works to. I sooo want to make my own robe now!! :D Inspirational video and great camerawork! I'm looking forward to see what more you'll come up with!
I find that when I’m making new sleeves for something or drafting the entire pattern by scratch, that the no seam allowance shape of the sleeve should match the no seam allowance armscye , the sleeve follows the shape the arm hole just that halfway down the curve is inverted. So the C of the folded arm hole actually lines up with the S of the folded sleeve. So I usually trace the straighter C of the arm hole, flip it, and continue tracing the much curvier part of the arm hole. You might want to pin or mark the place you decide to stop and flip on the arm hole so you don’t skip or add too little/much, just how long it is. I hope this wasn’t too confusing and helps you in future projects if you decide to draft another sleeve! (And don’t forget to add seam allowance or write that it doesn’t have any allowance or it may end up too small!) 😉
Evelyn Rojas I think that makes sense, moral of the story is that blindly hoping the arm hole and top of the sleeve are the same size isn’t the best way to go 😂
You might be able to squeeze it out of that amount but the sleeves do take up a lot of fabric so only have twice your height of fabric will be cutting it close

One day I’ll learn that everything needs a mock-up 😂 thank you!!

Hello I would like to ask if I could use instead of 5 yards 3 yards.(my height is 1.60cm)
