They are all damn good players. The arrangement is so simple yet they throw these subtlety complex, off-beat accents - particularly the drums - damn creative and just damn good.
@Crystina Gomez It is in fact Danielle on guitar and drums. Este on bass. Alana is the youngest. Este is the oldest and Danielle is the "middle child."
omg when you see that the fuck'in recording producer reply's to a fans comment from the best video that you've watched in your life!!!!!! SO LUCKY Lucia Vazquez
ariel rechtshaid I’d love it if this video was on iTunes! I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I NEED this version of Nothing’s Wrong with guitar solo and Right Now with the strong ending drums on my iPhone! 🙌🏽 love it! And great work on the album!
0:10 "Sorry, I was ready for action!" 0:13 Right Now 4:24 "And that's how you fuckin' do it" 4:30 Something to Tell You 8:26 Nothing's Wrong 11:50 Badass Danielle shredding the guitar 13:08 Drums/Credits
There’s a brilliant Paul Thomas Anderson trope at 12:19 during the guitar solo in ‘Nothing’s Wrong’: the footage flicks from Danielle in the light on drums to Danielle in the dark on the guitar, almost as if contrasting two memories or recalling the meaning of the music. He achieved something similar at the end of ‘Licorice Pizza’ when Alana and Cooper’s characters chase each other through L.A., recalling memories of running to each other’s rescue earlier in the film. Very powerful.
A video like this is rare to come across these days. A video of musicians playing music, well shot, well edited... Never were so many videos produced, but in an attempt to be either viral or seem detached and cynic we seem to be forgetting how great it is to produce something with so much heart and so simple.
Dare I say, I enjoy these recordings more than the album ones. I love the album, don't get me wrong. But I love hearing the guitars and drums without all of the production.
This is not to take away from Este and Alana musically (because they're quite good), but holy shit Danielle is a triple threat. She absolutely killed it on drums, lead guitar, and vocal.
Can't believe that I have never read this comment! This 14 minutes of pure art has consumed my life in quite lengthy periods at a time on and off for just over three years. Guess I've been so self consumed in the video that I've never took time to read the comments. I never seem to tire of listening to this whenever I have free time 🙏
Can we talk about the directing for a moment? The video itself is beautiful but with the angles and the flawless transitions between the girls it just adds a whole other level.... like it doesn’t even feel like you’re watching this on a screen it feels like you could be standing right there.
tell me about it! Danielle had an incredible solo at the end of Nothings Wrong when they first started performing it live over a year ago. I was distraught over it not being left in there!!!
I love the fade/end at 8:12. Classic PTA. As a musician, I can appreciate those few moments after the final chord has been struck, and you "freeze" into the silence. The simple joy at the end of a "good take." Great!
Ikr it's such a waste when women have opinions and personalities and wanna be seen as people instead of just playing music, looking pretty and shutting the fuck up for you...damn shame
Whenever I listened to this version of Nothing's wrong, I get very moved. How they play instrumentals, How they sing, How they look at each other, How they are tensed up, and How they looked happy and excited are beautiful and bright.
Damn. These 3 ladies are absolutely beyond talented. It’s a breath of fresh air seeing 3 very passionate musicians playing their own instruments, singing their own songs with this kind of emotion. So much of today’s music is pre-packaged pop garbage. HAIM is everything music should be. Bravo, ladies.
These girls are literally the most talanted mucisians of their generation. Some could say there are super bands out there but how many of those bands have members that can literally play every instrument thats put in front of them as well as sing and always seem to genuinely enjoy having fun with it!! Pure talent...
My dog loves Haim, she's a very nervous jack Russell but I just put Haim on loud and she comes to lie dwn next to me with her head on my lap. The best calming sound.
PTA and HAIM what a lovely combination! Just amazed by their talents. Just whatched Licorize Pizza and with this music video especial I'm in the moon right now! Thank you guys!
Ladies, if you ever see this, I watch this video at least once a month. Please come to Charlotte NC so I can see you guys perform live pretty please!!!
Danielle is playing drums and singing perfectly, but I can't even make a cup of tea and sing twinkle twinkle little star without fucking up... okay, alright.
It sounds great because it she is lip syncing to a pre-recorded track. Live vocals with drums in the same room would sound awful. Live concerts are one thing, but Valentine Studios is strictly a film set, no recordings have been done there for over thirty years.
Licorice Pizza brought me here. PTA's direction is brilliant. Simple. Beautifully crafted. He draws the best out of actors...and obviously musicians, too. He knows the joy of seeing music performed live. And this music is (mostly) LIVE, and it is great! My introduction to Haim. I've haven't explored their music beyond these three songs, but it's obvious..."they're the real deal," we used to say. Awesome band...real and raw and kick-ass, with enough "pop" to hook me. Watched this 3 or 4 times already; I'm sure there will be many more.
I smiled ear to ear the entire time. They embodied the feeling I get every time I listen to this album. Music runs through their veins and they are able to create music you can truly feel. The Haim sisters will go down as legends. Much love from NY
I really love your new album, but the sound in this video is beyond great. I love the clarity and clean sound of the instruments and your voices. The guitar work, drums, and your singing really comes out here. I'd especially buy a version of the album if it was all studio recordings! It's great to see how all of you put your heart and soul into your songs. Keep up the great work and I hope even greater things for you!
I give up! Almost every song I hear from these goddesses ends up being my "favorite". This has never happened to me before with discovered music. Bravo, Ladies! BRAVO!!!
In the last few years I've watched this prob a hundred times. It is AMAZING. These ladies are SO talented and don't get the acknowledgement they deserve. 🎹🎤🥁🎶🎵😘🖐🪘🎙🎵🎶
This is what the next record should be like! A band in a room playing hard rock pop with guitar solos. I haven't heard this caputred fully in the last two albums (which I love).
There's something so beautiful to see someone doing something they love 100%. You can just see the time blood effort sweat and tears they have given just to be in that moment and produce some beautiful music. Just amazing.
And in the darkest hour, when the sound of the heart was only a distant memory, HAIM sang, plucked, and beat the song of the light into the world. And that's how music of the heart was saved. :)
I seriously don’t understand how they aren’t the biggest band in the world. They are beyond talented. Just goes to show the disconnect of today’s generation and truly good music. I try not to be cynical and keep an open mind to all genres. For example, Mac Miller’s Swimming is in my opinion one of the best albums of the year. Super creative and introspective. I’m just a sucker for true musicianship. These girls are the real deal.
They were in "You are SO NOT Invited to My Bat Mitzvah" so that will get more people on board. They're really good and their music is super melodic but HAIM doesn't get any airplay, so you either need to hear about them from a friend or a movie or...
It’s incredible to see such unbelievably talented, multi- discipline musicians who compose such amazing songs and sing so superbly and with such with perfect harmonies! I love and respect such talent...! This is what music is about...!
I wouldn't have found this group of talented musicians if it wasn't on the trending list. I really like the vibe and how the music is really different than everything else I hear on the radio
How I discovered Haim: BAFTA Awards, Jonny Greendwood (the legend!) on stage with Alana. I am interested: who is she? I took "The Steps" and listened to their stuff,sSomehow I was on "Gasoline" and: "Right Now, I'm in it" 🙂 Amazing young ladies.
This amazing, trully beatiful, absolutely magnificient video made buy the album! Such great songs from these three ladies! After an incredible debut album, they come back with an even better work... Fun Fact at 10:27 I think the painting in the background (behind Este) is a painting PTA did with Ms. Rose when he was in elementary school and Ms Rose is now Mrs Haim (Donna Haim) 🥰
The light setting is genius. The glow it generates on the silver surfaces in contrast to the soft skintones are matching very nice. The panning feels so organic like sneeking arround in between. This together with the raw HAIM sound gives me a feeling of beeing a part of it. Nicest musikvideo ever imho.
"Simple for the cameras, complicated for the girls." - P.T. Anderson Yup that about sums it up, my mind was trying to find the words to put to P.T.A.'s stylistic approach to some of these vids and that definitely puts it perfectly susinctly.. and i Love it. Capital L.
I literally have to watch this start to finish once a month as part of my mental health. Brilliant masterpiece.
I can't believe Danielle is singing playing guitar and astral projecting to the drums all at the same time.
Best comment hahaha
And organ and keyboards and drum machine, too.
They are all damn good players. The arrangement is so simple yet they throw these subtlety complex, off-beat accents - particularly the drums - damn creative and just damn good.
Omni-Present
@Crystina Gomez It is in fact Danielle on guitar and drums. Este on bass. Alana is the youngest. Este is the oldest and Danielle is the "middle child."
I wish we could hear the entire album like this!
us too - ariel, paul, danielle, este, alana
omg when you see that the fuck'in recording producer reply's to a fans comment from the best video that you've watched in your life!!!!!! SO LUCKY Lucia Vazquez
You lucky bitch

ariel rechtshaid I’d love it if this video was on iTunes! I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I NEED this version of Nothing’s Wrong with guitar solo and Right Now with the strong ending drums on my iPhone! 🙌🏽 love it! And great work on the album!

Lol. Its Paul Thomas Anderson.
Yep! PTA gets it!
And all it took was one of the greatest film writer/director/producer of our times!
Fernando Lino So true
AMEN!
DANIELLE HAIM CAN HAVE MY HEART AND SOUL
中 how I feel about Este. 😊
They all can have mine! But maybe Alana can have more!
I like that este haim and her weird faces
Este's Bassface rocks my entire existence
YAASSSSSSSSSSSS THAT GURRRLLLL she rockkkk
PUTRI MICIN w
Right?! She's cool AF. Love it!
She’s like a cool flamingo 🦩 or stork. I love those faces!
her drum face is pretty fierce too!! lol
Dare I say, I enjoy these recordings more than the album ones. I love the album, don't get me wrong. But I love hearing the guitars and drums without all of the production.
The raw intensity Haim brought to this was phenomenal. I was in tears!
shut yo sensitive ass up
nvm im crying
MonsefMA I liked your first comment omg i just laughed so hard
Lindsey Taylor Mitchell I actually cried too
I WAS LITERALLY IN TEARS WHEN SOMETHING TO TELL YOU STARTED!
This is not to take away from Este and Alana musically (because they're quite good), but holy shit Danielle is a triple threat. She absolutely killed it on drums, lead guitar, and vocal.
So, Este has a music degree, plays the bass, drums, and could be lead vocals, and could play lead or rhythm guitar if needed.
Este and Alana killed it too
HAIM, the trio
I wish the album versions of these tracks weren't so heavy on the effects. These versions are WAY better!
Haim is so underrated! They are so freaking cool and super talented!
Underrated by whom? Do you really understand what you're saying, or are you just jumping on the current RUclips "underrated" bandwagon?
You ladies are beyond talented and deserve all the love in the world
I wish I could buy this version. I have watched this more times than I care to admit
Literally the most enjoyable 14mins the whole of RUclips is able to produce.
Agreed
Can't believe that I have never read this comment! This 14 minutes of pure art has consumed my life in quite lengthy periods at a time on and off for just over three years. Guess I've been so self consumed in the video that I've never took time to read the comments. I never seem to tire of listening to this whenever I have free time 🙏
It's like a personal live show, or being in the studio 🎙️, amazing work...
100% Agreed!
I'm in love with this also
Can we talk about the directing for a moment? The video itself is beautiful but with the angles and the flawless transitions between the girls it just adds a whole other level.... like it doesn’t even feel like you’re watching this on a screen it feels like you could be standing right there.
That PT Anderson fellow might have a future in the movie business. :-)
I wish they would have kept this ending of "Nothing's Wrong" because the guitar riffs were phenomenal!
tell me about it! Danielle had an incredible solo at the end of Nothings Wrong when they first started performing it live over a year ago. I was distraught over it not being left in there!!!
Same. Only got to see it once live. Wish they recorded this version of nothing wrong like as a bonus track or something
A modern tragedy
I have this same thought... weekly or thereabouts.
These are probably the most musically talented sisters you'll ever see
Close second to The Warning but both bands are quite different
alana is so under appreciated!! she is pure talentttt
Alana's guitar on "Right Now" rocks so hard and is is restrained and subtle at the same time. As the eldest sibling in my own family I say she rocks.
She's a future Oscar nominated
This comment aged very well
@@buddigabong .........unfortunately it didn´t .
I hope the accademy make Alana up by inviting Haim Sisters to play live during the Oscar ceremony.
I love the fade/end at 8:12. Classic PTA. As a musician, I can appreciate those few moments after the final chord has been struck, and you "freeze" into the silence. The simple joy at the end of a "good take." Great!
I love you guys so much this is amazing.
Danielle’s drum skills are to die for 😍
everything about danielle is to die for

Emily Hardy yes shut his dumb mouth

with it
Whenever I listened to this version of Nothing's wrong, I get very moved. How they play instrumentals, How they sing, How they look at each other, How they are tensed up, and How they looked happy and excited are beautiful and bright.
This Performance of Right Now sounds much better than the Albumversion. Love it.
This version of Something To Tell You has hit my soul in all of the right places.
Thank you for making music that is so raw and beautiful
0:00 - Right Now
4:30 - Something to Tell You
8:25 - Nothing's Wrong
These versions are much better than the studio release.
Absolutely!
Yep
exactly
Every video of them I watch, I fall deeper in love with Este. Just listening to her basslines makes me drool at work.
Igor Costa Gomes ela é a minha preferida!
Eu tô aqui esperando um show delas pra fazer o pedido de casamento.
Igor Costa Gomes me too... utterly gorgeous badassary

Those three girls just take me to the moon. Top quality talent. I feel the drums in my chest
Alana: "Sorry, I was waiting for 'Action!'"
Holy fuck that was so funny and cute.
My dog loves Haim, she's a very nervous jack Russell but I just put Haim on loud and she comes to lie dwn next to me with her head on my lap. The best calming sound.
Great music + Paul Thomas Anderson = this
PTA and HAIM what a lovely combination! Just amazed by their talents. Just whatched Licorize Pizza and with this music video especial I'm in the moon right now! Thank you guys!
I love that they kept this as a live performance. It's so good. It really proves their talent to any nonbelievers.
Ladies, if you ever see this, I watch this video at least once a month. Please come to Charlotte NC so I can see you guys perform live pretty please!!!
If they come to Charlotte… take me with you??!! 🎉
I love that PTA finds time to direct music videos, the guy really seems like a student of his craft. I can't wait for Phantom Thread!
The last song "Tell Me" has a sound that calls back to Fleetwood Mac. I dig it!
The drum part always be my favorite
Such an underrated band. They are so great and original.
Agreed!
Danielle is playing drums and singing perfectly, but I can't even make a cup of tea and sing twinkle twinkle little star without fucking up... okay, alright.
I think she is even better drummer than guitarist! Check her out playing drums with the Killers live, the song is On Top.
Juan Ayestas I've seen it! She's such an amazing multi-musician, a very talented woman!
same
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
It sounds great because it she is lip syncing to a pre-recorded track. Live vocals with drums in the same room would sound awful. Live concerts are one thing, but Valentine Studios is strictly a film set, no recordings have been done there for over thirty years.

This. So much this.
That tell me nothing's wrong solo is out of control. Danielle made that guitar cry
never cared much about their music before but THIS just left me in awe. I wish there were way more music films like this. thanks PTA
I give up! Almost every song I hear from these goddesses ends up being my "favorite". This has never happened to me before with discovered music. Bravo, Ladies! BRAVO!!!
I haven't watched this yet, but I already love this
I can't explain how mystified I am by how insanely talented and raw these three are. There's truly nothing like them out there.
Danielle playing drums and singing at the same time during STTY tho 💓🙌🏻👏🏻
So is that what Phil Collins used to do at live performances? Ya think?
Jorge Ramos She's in the Don Henley / Phil Collins club.
omg, their latest song is just PERFECT!!! ruclips.net/video/rmUoh-oMJe8/видео.html

You are so powerful, inspiring, hard-working and classy. I feel honoured to watch you create, thank you.
These sisters are simply phenomenal musicians, singers, songwriters and arrangers.
How amazing would it be to have been born into that family.
Ladies and gentlemen, for your Grammy consideration: HAIM - Something to Tell You
It was so good I almost cried. Rock n' roll is not dead and the only reason is because of these 3 women.
💯✔
Straight for the Hall of Fame!!!
This band is SO versatile. Really well-crafted songs performed brilliantly and with tons of emotion. Love it.
This is what the next record should be like! A band in a room playing hard rock pop with guitar solos. I haven't heard this caputred fully in the last two albums (which I love).

This is a beautiful collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson.
Not sure which one of these ladies I love and admire the most.
And in the darkest hour, when the sound of the heart was only a distant memory, HAIM sang, plucked, and beat the song of the light into the world. And that's how music of the heart was saved. :)
I love how they kept the studio noises that usually would get cut out on an album mix, it feels so intimate and real.
Such an unbelievable performance, makes you wonder why the album version of Nothing's Wrong seems cut short
I seriously don’t understand how they aren’t the biggest band in the world. They are beyond talented. Just goes to show the disconnect of today’s generation and truly good music. everytime i watch this masterpiece im crying from beaty, talent, naturalism, etc
They were in "You are SO NOT Invited to My Bat Mitzvah" so that will get more people on board. They're really good and their music is super melodic but HAIM doesn't get any airplay, so you either need to hear about them from a friend or a movie or...
Because they're middling vocalists and not particularly original.
Very few people on this planet can do what these 3 can do!!! Insane musicians all of them!!
I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Haim sister with their hair in a bun?
Spencer Cammarano Same, I love it

Bass face is the best thing in music ever. love you Este xx
I wouldn't have found this group of talented musicians if it wasn't on the trending list. I really like the vibe and how the music is really different than everything else I hear on the radio
Every time that drumming beat comes I literally wanna cry, it’s SO GOOD
It's called Valentine because it was filmed at Valentine recording studio in North Hollywood. It says that at the end of this awesome video.

Yes! Especially at 11:50 onward. Can't place which Buckinham solo it remind me of, but maybe towards end of "Think About Me".
No, Fleetwood Mac could all play their instruments....
@@longsnapper5381 here you are again loving haim
Este is the greatest combination of groove, musicality and beauty in the history of music
damn. they didn't have to do that but they straight up just, like... did.
If I had three children who turned into this I think I would spontaneously combust from pride.
Danielle Haim is super talented.
I think this is the most clearly I’ve heard (and identified Este) when singing solo. Her voice, especially in “Nothing’s Wrong”, is so good and clear!
really hoping they release the audio for this on iTunes or something
How I discovered Haim:
