The fact of the matter is, you can get either of these beautiful American SUVs for less money than your average unreliable, expensive mid-size Euro competitor, that to me, don't look as nice. The choice is obvious.
Speaker count should NOT be the determining factor. HOW IT SOUNDS IS WHAT MATTERS!!!!! Which has more bass??? Deeper bass? Better clarity and separation?????????
Personally I liked the sound of the AKG, not only for wattage, but the enveloping surround sound in the headrests that you can modulate (0 to 360 degrees of effects).
@@mybro727 Here's the problem: Lincoln botched it with the Navigator's system. My Lincoln MKZ Black Label also has 20 Revel Ultima audio speakers. It's insanely good. I do not know how it compares to AKG, but the fact that the MKZ and Navigator have the same number of speakers is a bad move on the Navigator's part.
@Banana 831 Your “theory” is that Revel is the older system so the Navigator automatically should have the better sounding/performing sound system?. Smh. Again, that doesn’t even make sense. You believe Cadillac replaced Bose and chose AKG as their new “Face of Sound” solely because AKG doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing in automotive audio? That’s the reason they got the job? Do you honestly believe that? I guarantee you’re the individual that sounds ignorant here. And you came all the way here just to tell someone else that _they_ sound ignorant. Digest that.
@Banana 831 No I’m not in my feelings. I’m trying to figure out why I’m being called names just because I asked a valid question. AKG may be new to full automotive systems but they aren’t new to the sound/music industry. A well established and highly capable company is able to reinvest money for research to develop new services/products. They’re able to venture into a slightly new market like automotive systems and be the best at it because this is still their neck of the woods: AUDIO. The quality and execution of that product will be there just as it is in the products their known for around the globe. But i digress.
GM owns the full size SUV market, with 60% market share and has for many years. Buyers have spoken: luxury Lincoln SUVs don't sell nearly as well as their Cadillac counterparts. In fact, Cadillac sells twice as many Escalades as Lincoln does Navigators so far in 2021, through March 31st.
Escalade is so awesome that Lincoln said, Oh boy it's time for an emergency Navigator remodel for 2022. Now Cadillac have to do the same thing for the 2022 XT6 in comparison to the Aviator.
I agree that Caddy did raise the game more than I expected, but the refresh was due anyway. There's very rarely an "emergency " refresh in any vehicle.

Escalade is way much better than the Navigator, in looks, technology, interior room and quality of driving. There is no comparison. The presenter in the video is just biased toward favoring the Navigator, he is probably a Ford guy.
I dont think he is biased, navigator is more original. Overall i think the navigator is better and i like Ford and GM. The seats look more luxirious and more cushony.
"biased toward favoring" is redundant. Biased toward the Navigator. Biased against the Navigator. And you clearly have no idea how a business works. You think CarGurus is going to publish a video where a guy is clearly "a Ford guy"? Yeah, not how it works. There are a bunch of different review and approval levels that it has to go through.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.
Both look and perform well. I think GM does so much with the Suburban and Tahoe, which are quasi-luxury themselves, that maybe that's the reason for the "GM" parts he mentioned? I definitely come from a GM family, so I got a ton of crap getting a Lincoln MKZ Black Label (400 hp is nice). I like both Cadillac and Lincoln. @@lexithomas3163 Hi Lexi. I grew up on a cattle ranch driving crew cab pickups, we needed them to carry everyone and their horse trailers. So large vehicles were what I learned to drive in. Flash forward to 2001, my wife was pregnant with our third child and her Honda Civic wasn’t going to work with 2 car seats and a booster. I had read good things about the new Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon. My wife was like “absolutely not”… too big. Well our local Ford dealer sent her home with a Ford Explorer (mid size suv) to test drive. She drove it for a week and liked it. However, I asked the local Chevy dealer if they had a demo Tahoe we could drive for a few days. They handed the keys over to a loaded black exterior with tan leather interior Tahoe. Cheryl was hesitant for about 1 day. By the end of the second day she was like “wow!!!” This is actually easier to drive than the mid size suv. So we bought the Tahoe. Since then my wife has much preferred full size SUV’s to that of any other vehicle. If you drive a Yukon Denali or Cadillac Escalade, you will find they have extremely good handling characteristics. It’s not hard to park and it’s a very safe vehicle. We live in an area where we get a lot of snow and ice every year. These true 4x4 systems are better than the AWD’s we have owned. For example, we had a 2017 Acura MDX loaded. We were hit by a kid in a small car and the MDX was totaled. We have been hit in the Tahoe, just as hard and at same speed…. All we needed was a new bumper and grill! If it’s the “size” that worries you…. I’ve found that people who buy these vehicles adjust to the size. Now… we are in our mid 50’s now. Cheryl is driving a loaded grande Cherokee. However we now have lots grandkids. So…we are looking to buy a Yukon, Escalade or Ford Expedition in 2023-4 model year. We now need to be able to carry 6-7 people several times a month. My wife is looking forward to going back to the full size SUV.
Yeah, GM's Tahoe/Denali/Suburban lineup is basically already luxury-class vehicles. I drive a Lincoln, but GM does so well with that lineup I mentioned.
@@rpospeedwagon yep. We loved our Tahoe. Wife has a Lux Grand Cherokee. She loves it but misses sitting higher in the Tahoe. We have found in bad weather, in particularly at night it helps to sit higher relative to to the headlights of oncoming vehicles. We also like the better visibility on toad trips. I personally would get the diesel but am looking forward to a hybrid. I wish someone would make a diesel electric SUV. Why not use an electric with a small diesel generation to replenish batteries when driving more than the batteries can supply.
Had the twin turbo v6 in my SHO. loved it, was quick as hell and could get 20+ mpg. Was at the dealer for service, and overheard a couple of different customers in with F-150s close to 100k on the clock. They were being told they would have to replace one if not both of the turbos.... at 8300.00 a piece. I sold that car before I had to put 16k in it because of the way I drove for another 75k miles. Loved it, but was not willing to drop that much money so far into its life. Like the old saying goes, there is no replacement for displacement.
That's the price of a engine long block two turbos and a catalytic converter trust me I know 2018 f150 platinum and 2200 more for the labor. Idk where he's coming up with 16k for two turbos
Great review and insight. However, I have had 2018 Navigator reserve L and in the first 2 years have stated "this is the best car I have ever owned", then in the last 2 months, all the engine issues began and Lincoln struggled to fix it until they completed a replacement of a Cam Phaser, that took 2 weeks. Now the concern begins about the ability of a V-6 twin turbo hauling such a massive car. Last week I ordered a Cadillac ESV Sport. I guess I will see first hand. Keep up the wonderful reviews.
Interesting. That's my only worry with my MKZ 3.0 V6 Twin Turbo (2017 Black Label). 400 HP is amazing, and hopefully it holds up well over the coming years.
With the premium price Cadillac asks for, I'd like to see it with its OWN HIGH HORSEPOWER ENGINE! Instead of using general motors workhorse 6.2 liter that's shared across the brands (Chevy, GMC,CADILLAC...)
They are both completely outclassed by the Grand Wagoneer! I was shopping around for the most luxurious and capable SUV available…much to my surprise, the GW just makes the competition look sad! Kinda like what happened when the RAM 1500 came out…all the other trucks were way behind and old looking.
Ive sat in the grand wagoneer. Wasnt really impressed. Big suv with leather is all it is, with screens that are too bright for the road. The escalades presence is unmatched. That gw blends in at the grocery store.
It comes to personal preference. Just bought an xt5 Cadillac w/ 20" rims.love it but those seats in the Lincoln look like 4k$$ stressless leather from a high end house.I want em!!
If we talking 2022 models escalade all the way. Just got better tech features and in general better value I think. Like even night vision or even magnetic ride control. That alone is deal breaker
Looks like you guys made a video just for the SUV driver! You didn't show the rear interior, the seats and the habitability of the second and third rows of seats. Left to be desired, in this video! I wish I had seen more!
Can't ever defy physics. The v8 is superb and will never be over-worked like the turbo-charged v6. And at 11:13 you can hear the v6 being over-worked as it does not sound smooth under demand as the v8 does. Been a loyal Ford and Lincoln owner for a long time, but I'd opt for the Cadillac this time round without a second thought. Remember, those vehicles aren't built for speed and the Navigator isn't getting better gas mileage.
In a upcoming video do a trio luxury comparison. Still do the Escalade and Navigator, but after the Jeep Grand Wagoneer gets released put that vehicle in as well for the comparison. That would be nice. It has some nice n comfy features as well.
People love to go against Ford Lincoln simply because it's the easy choice. Caddy..Gm..Chevy...all the time. Lincoln is true American luxury. So many features throughout the years that many cars adopted. Your favorite cars adopted so many aspects of Ford Lincoln.
I don't think all these people have ever been in a Navigator. The Navigator is true luxury. Yeah Cadillac may have that big screen and the more modern touches, but the Navigator has the most old school true luxury. Which I prefer the Navigator way more than the Escalade. Especially when it comes to comfortability.

After driven both for long trips and owning none. The cadi is very pleasing on the eye, very modern. But the seats on the Navi just had superior comfort. For long trips I personally enjoyed the comfort being able to relax and not get fatigued. Cadi instrument is entertaining because it’s a shiny new toy but after it’s used as intended just for driving, I wished I was in the Nav.
Cadillac is the true winner, sales do not lie. read this The Navigator almost doubled its sales that year (to 17,839), but it still has a ways to go before catching the Cadillac (36,872 sales in 2018). Please review the upcoming Navigator when it's refreshed!
The fact of the matter is, you can get either of these beautiful American SUVs for less money than your average unreliable, expensive mid-size Euro competitor, that to me, don't look as nice. The choice is obvious.
Escalade for me!!!
They coming out with a Escalade V series I can't wait.
I’m a Executive Car Service driver’s! When my customers get in those back seats with the executive package; all I hear is WOW is this a Lincoln!😁😁😁
Love the new look on Cadillac
It just looks more prestigious to me.I like em both though.
Speaker count should NOT be the determining factor. HOW IT SOUNDS IS WHAT MATTERS!!!!! Which has more bass??? Deeper bass? Better clarity and separation?????????
Do you actually believe the sound system in the Lincoln sounds better than the AKG Studio Reference system?? 😂
The best 1 minute intro in a car video ever!
As long as the Suburban is around so will the Expedition, Ford is actually concerned about Quality over Quantity...

The XT6 will never get to Aviator levels due to its platform, but it's creation definitely felt like an "emergency" response to the Avi!.
@@kclark8080 With a interior redo (Colors + Quilted Seats), and new drivetrain options. A 4.2 liter BlackWing or at least a 3.6 Twin Turbo would separate it from the 3.6 liter in-line engines in the Buick, Chevy and GMC lines.

@@kclark8080 No need to shake your head, I didn't think I had to mention that All-Wheel drive Cadillacs come with these engines. XT6 does come in AWD. Cadillacs from recent past have used the 3.6 liter Twin Turbo and 4.2 liter BlackWing without being RWD only. XTS, CTS & CT6 for example. When you take a road trip from St Louis to DC & coast down I-70 for 14 hours with little to no effort using super cruise in a 2021 Escalade it's then that you realize that Navigator doesn't even come close.
Stay tuned for Cliff’s Escalade ESV review focusing on Super Cruise going live this Tuesday the 29th, I think you’ll enjoy it!!
Escalade is way much better than the Navigator, in looks, technology, interior room and quality of driving. There is no comparison. The presenter in the video is just biased toward favoring the Navigator, he is probably a Ford guy.
why would the navigator be better than the escalade? The Escalade was just redesigned but the navigator has been the same for 4 years
I dont think he is biased, navigator is more original.
Yay a comparison video love these 😍
Choosing a Lincoln or Cadillac over a Jeep, GMC, Merc, or BMW is just delusional
Merc, bmw, and jeep/stellantis are WAY less reliable
The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily.
The Escalade is just better in every way. The Lincoln Navigator needs to be updated.
Lincoln Navigator looks soo nice
yea, the monochromatic pkg makes it look much better!
The black label interior is insane as well
Those captains chairs look sweet too.I love my caddy & the black leather but that Lincoln got some beauties.
Hopefully GM keeps the Caddy cars in production, unlike Lincoln.

I like both vehicles. Personally I like the Cadillac more. However, I’d go with the GMC Yukon Denali.
Oh Please, what makes you like the denali? Just Curious, cause comparing it to both of these cars, they’re a lot big and have much space and for me that was a big turn off idk
Why not use an electric with a small diesel generation to replenish batteries when driving more than the batteries can supply.
yeah I will most def choose the escalade
Had the twin turbo v6 in my SHO. loved it, was quick as hell and could get 20+ mpg. Was at the dealer for service, and overheard a couple of different customers in with F-150s close to 100k on the clock. They were being told they would have to replace one if not both of the turbos.... at 8300.00 a piece. I sold that car before I had to put 16k in it because of the way I drove for another 75k miles. Loved it, but was not willing to drop that much money so far into its life. Like the old saying goes, there is no replacement for displacement.
16k for turbos?
@@13jrvernon That price is probably with shop labor.
That's the price of a engine long block two turbos and a catalytic converter trust me I know 2018 f150 platinum and 2200 more for the labor. Idk where he's coming up with 16k for two turbos
I used to like Navigator / gotta Check Cadillac Scalade - after all is the Secret Service choice!
Realmente a Lincoln Navigator é melhor, parabéns pelo vídeo.
Just a word of advice, Car Gurus...more...morE...moRE...mORE...MORE!!!!
I’m going with the Navigator
With the premium price Cadillac asks for, I'd like to see it with its OWN HIGH HORSEPOWER ENGINE! Instead of using general motors workhorse 6.2 liter that's shared across the brands (Chevy, GMC,CADILLAC...)
we don't wanna get another Northstar
Love that you did this is the snow
These are the best of the best! Gorgeous.
Great job....from Argentina ....keep it up...
That Lincoln Navigator though 😍
Cadillac also offers super cruise you can have it drive on its own, Lincoln doesn’t even offer that
They are both completely outclassed by the Grand Wagoneer!

Looks like you guys made a video just for the SUV driver! You didn't show the rear interior, the seats and the habitability of the second and third rows of seats. Left to be desired, in this video! I wish I had seen more!
Paying 100K for either one would be a very stupid thing to do even if you could do it.
Someone’s broke
Nice tribute to the Men's Warehouse founder at 0:55.
But the Cadillac still use Chevy switchgear
I believe the rear seats are way more comfortable in the Navigator. Escalade back seats seem to be lower which is terrible on long trips
Great review, you should do the same review but now with the 2022 expedition.
In a upcoming video do a trio luxury comparison. Still do the Escalade and Navigator, but after the Jeep Grand Wagoneer gets released put that vehicle in as well for the comparison. That would be nice. It has some nice n comfy features as well.
If I could afford one, I'd go with the Cadillac just because it has a V8.
"Because it has a V8 that makes less horsepower and drinks more gas."
Dumb.
It's really weird getting used to the cameras versus mirrors, but once you do it's great
People love to go against Ford Lincoln simply because it's the easy choice.

Awesome review. Loved every second of it.
My Navigator with a V8 ('07) had a 13.4 mpg average and my V6 ('15) gets 17.8 mpg. Significant improvement, especially considering there's more hp.
Man, I love these cars, I don’t particularly like either front, I do prefer the Escalades back end, but man, the interiors are both absolutely beautiful, the Cadillac is modern and eye catching, but the navigation is comfortable and relaxing, I have zero preference over the other, but if given the option would go with the Cadillac, I like the modern design and amazing presence, but seriously these cars are nice.
I like both, but I love the V8 engine. Nothing like that rumble.
Cadillac Always wins duh
If you had to choose which would you?
I think both are pretty cool but I can’t help but feel the Escalade has a bit more “cool factor” looool

If those cars were 80,000 max brand new I would get them but 100,000 is a lot for a Cadillac or Lincoln, I would get the lincoln aviator instead
The navigator starts at 85K for base (give or take I believe?) and the aviator base is almost right below base for the navigator.. that’s the big hang up I had between the two. I’ve had two navigators and currently have a new one. When I was a teen, my mom had a aviator before they stopped producing them and did this recent revamp.
If you think $100,000 is a lot for this type of vehicle you cannot afford one. You cannot even afford the little brother Aviator. Maybe in 10 years you can get close
