    Helicopters are awesome, you are awesome! No matter how long its been, these videos stand out and are worth the wait everytime. The visuals, the vibes and the new gained perspectives. I don't live near the mountains, so I never knew that that was a thing. Really cool insight into the challenges, overall procedures and the setting up. Youre videos always leave me in a better mood and just excited for life. :)

    Great video Eric and thanks for taking the time to capture & edit it. The 350's are unique to sling work. I think it is one of the most satisfying feelings being able to do what you do right there. Just remember, quality takes time, so don't apologies for the 'delay' with your content. 😉😎🚁

      @@EricPJohnstone I can only imagine how much work it is to fly and film, then all the editing (you’re doing an awesome job!). I would really enjoy additional technical comments. Like when you fly approaches with a load what your looking for, power settings when you haul, prepping for engine failures, etc.

    Enjoying the vids, Eric. Ready for more when you're able to make the time. It's great to see real ops in Revelstoke (I sure miss BC). One small request, the parts that are fast-forwarded would mainly still be worth watching at normal speed.

      Thanks! The AStar is unbeatable, but I do jumping in the 206 and flying that machine. You have to be really switched on as a pilot, especially flying in the mountains with it.

    what reference would you use in such a white out landing and takeoff? couldnt see anything outside completely

    • @EricPJohnstone
      @EricPJohnstone  Год назад +2

      Great question. At 14:27, basically I’m using the sled as my reference for both the take offs and landings. When I was bringing the first snowmobile in, I was using the small group of trees off the right side of the helicopter for the vertical reference portion.
      In most cases for snow landings, we’ll either be using Heli stakes, or something like a small tree or rock that fits inside the rotor disk.

  • @Jazzzon777

    I am assuming that it is capable of lifting both sleds at the same time but it would just be difficult and risky for strap them that way?
    Also were the guys you dropped off doing a job or was this just for fun? It must have been expensive for them right?

    • @EricPJohnstone
      @EricPJohnstone  11 месяцев назад +1

      You can lift two at the same time, this was just a long flight and the staging area was pretty close, so it was better just to fly the one
