one more question. Will the adhesive stick to my plastic tail gate protector or should i put it right underneath of that on the metal? the instructions said that it wont stick without some adhesive promoter. thanks for your help

How many little velcro strips do you use on the bottom part of the tail gate. It looked like you used about 6 is that correct?
