    Fun facts about Elizabeth I:
    - She cursed like a sailor. Henry Viii cussed a lot as well.
    - She never smiled because deserts and sugary foods rotted her teeth
    - She wore makeup made completely of led, which is poisonous. It made her skin wrinkle and her hair fall out.
In response, she’d put more on and bigger wigs.
    - Her voice was actually very high pitched but not super high pitched like a chipmunk.

Hm wouldn’t say that Robert loved his second wife “deeply” he was just a good husband. He wrote to his friend that he would “live and die only hers” about Elizabeth, kept many portraits of her up in his house, spent even more time with her than his own wife and wrote in another letter that his “only comfort was his nephew and Elizabeth”. Also he didn’t have the best reaction when Elizabeth was flirting with the Duke of Anjou. He still very much loved Elizabeth and they never really did “break up” but just had a small rift.

It would be interesting to hear about the daughter of Henry I. He named her his heir, and she was his only child, yet her cousin swiped the thrown four months or so after she became Queen, and yet no one considers her one of England's ruling queens? I don't understand that.

I also thought the line, "his bedroom mysteriously exploded" was quite funny - so deadpan. Book recommendation: Mary Queen of Scots and the Murder of Lord Darnley, by Alison Weir. The story of Arthur Dudley is fascinating - in everything I have read about Elizabeth I, I have never heard about him before.

And welcome back to the Tudor Bachelor. Well folks, we are used to returning guests, Henry VIII set the record with six appearances but his daughter is clearly going for his record. Please welcome, her Majesty; Queen Elizabeth I. Your Majesty, we have again scoured the royal and noble families of Europe so see if any of these bachelors take your fancy.
Bachelor Number 1: The Earl of Arundel. He did back Lady Jane Grey but betrayed her and worked for your sister. Can you trust him? If he handles rejection with regicide; maybe not.
Bachelor Number 2: Sir William Pickering; he has had several lovers but he is handsome and not overtly power hungry. You could do worse babe.
Bachelor Number 3: The Earl of Arran, the link to Scotland could be beneficial and he is an open Protestant. However he may or may not need some mental health support.
Bachelor Number 4: The King of Sweden; a monarch is a good match for a monarch but he has a thing for mistresses. Hey just like dear old Dad, huh?
Bachelor Number 5: The King of Denmark and Norway. The enemy of Bachelor Number 4: so are you the wife or the prize?
Bachelor Number 6: The Archduke of Austria. Another Hapsburg but a less noticeable chin however is a Catholic spouse wise these days? Maybe not.
Bachelor Number 7: King of France and links to Poland-Lithuania; sure he’s younger and prefers his male lovers but hey; that could work for both of you.
Bachelor Number 8: Another returning guest. Robert Dudley. Simply put; he is the King of Simps.
Bachelor Number 9: The brother of Bachelor Number 7; he might not be King and a Catholic but if he can piss off the Spanish, it could work.

Love that you mentioned the confused numeral of Erik XIV. Johan III managed to get the right number, but their younger brother Karl IX also got the number wrong. (Because Johan III was married to a Polish princess, their son Sigismund became king of both protestant Sweden and catholic Poland. Due to being seen as too catholic for the Swedish throne, he was usurped by his uncle Karl IX. The House of Vasa is a wonderful mess.) (If you go Johan III's castle in Turku, where Erik XIV was imprisoned, you can see a window ledge with a pit in it. Supposedly that pit was worn in by Erik XIV's elbow as he stared out the window to the castle where his beloved Karin was held, since she wasn't of noble enough birth to get to stay in the castle with him.)

I highly doubt that Elisabeth and Robert never had sex but intimacy on a different level. You also have to consider that women in the Middle Ages got into menopause way earlier than these days. My theory is, that she gave birth to a love child. After that “incident” they stopped having sex and lived this different intimacy thing but when Elisabeth got into menopause they had sex again

I'm not so sure the husband of a regnant queen can have the title of a king. With a consort queen, yeah, but when it comes to regnant queens, traditionally the husband's title is prince consort, as we've seen with Queen Victoria's husband Albert and Queen Elizabeth II's husband Phillip. If I recall correctly, the only time England has had both a king and a regnant queen in a co-monarchy was the late 1600's under the reign of William III and Mary II. When it comes to regnant queens, I think they don't change their last names because they outrank their husbands in the line of succession

What men vs women would wear to such an event? I would also be interested to see what headgear we might see members of the royal family wear.

I do not think that this queen would risk her trone and her reputation to lie down with a man ? Especially with the history of her mother and all the men who wanted to marry her for her political position.

👑She thought of herself as a Prince, she referred to herself as a Prince and am quite sure she privately behaved as one, the question of silence in partners expected their knowing the result of the slightest indescretion. A child would not be out of the question, Fitzroy comes to mind and her keen sense of political distraction, Cecil at her elbow, and fashion, though a challenge, would enable her to disguise her pregnancy adequately.. Her issue would be dealt with in a different manner than her father's indescretions. Those wondering about why she didn't dispatch the pregnancy or would a baby, I invite to examine her years of anguish and anxiety over the decision to execute Mary Queen of Scots. The Divine Right, Royal blood was sacred to her core belief, certainly so with her own blood. Bastard or not the child would be of royal blood. "Princes do not kill Princes " in her soul.

    • @emilybarclay8831
      @emilybarclay8831 21 день назад

I’ve never seen her refer to herself as a prince.
She would not have privately behaved that way because it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to hide. Every day of her life she was naked or barely dressed in front of DOZENS of servants, and spent all her time in the close company of court ladies who were not necessarily loyal to her. Hiding a pregnancy simply did not happen, and any child she had would not be a prince or princess nor would they ever have a claim to the throne, but that child WOULD threaten her own position as a respected monarch

part 3 of my family's story
my grandad mansour was a black moroccan man and went to the same secondary school as my grandma. luckily, her family was not racist and did not mind her husband was a black muslim, the only person that minded was edward moyer, her great grandad. edward only talked to elisabeth and not her parents, but after their wedding in 1983 he never said a word. he died on january 31st in 1990(exactly 33 years ago today) due to brain cancer at age 81. moving back to my grandma, she and her husband had 4 kids. the eldest born in 1984 were twins, adam ahmed 1st and 20 minutes later had my mother, khadijah. later in 1986,there was another boy called blaine and their last child,a girl called adelaide after adelaide cottage in 1988. however,in 1989 mansour cheated on my grandma. she was heartbroken, but couldn't do anything for the sake of her kids. he did it again in the beginning of 1990,my great grandparents were furious and ready to argue and even fight after they found out but elisabeth found out and new she didn't love him anymore. he became stubborn and his personality changed, and when her grandad found out all he said was "i told you that you shouldn't of have married that black n****". in 1996 they finally divorced, and my grandma knew that she would never let her kids live like this. she got a new job in a new city as an accoutant and there met a wealthy beautiful man called johnathon olo,a ghanaian man. they got married very quickly after 6 months, and had a kid that same year, the baby was born in 1997 and was a girl called frances when she was 38 and he was 43. in 2001,khadijah(my mother)got pregnant as a teen. she didn't actually know who the father was as she had 2 boyfriends but soon after she knew who it was. his name was mohammed(my dad)and he was from sudan. her grandma(clarissa)helped as she was also a teen pregnancy. she then had the baby on december 24th,a girl called khadra, and the year after in 2002,elisabeth had twins with john,a boy called jayden and a girl named tanya when she was 43. then khadijah got engaged with mohammed in 2003 and got married in july of that year. they had another kid in 2004 called omar. then in 2005 they had salma and in 2006 they had osman. in 2008,i was born(maria)and i thought i was the youngest. in 2010,my parents divorced due to struggles in their relationship. my mum got with another man named james ngyuen. they got married in 2012, and had 2 daughters in 2013 and 2015 called hannah and nadia. my dad got engaged in 2017 and had triplets with a women named alicjia nowak, they were 2 boys and 1 girl called hafsa, abdul and marwin. both couples split in 2020 and 2021,my step dad cheated on my mother and my step mother moved back to germany and my dad didn't wanna leave. he still sees my half siblings. in 2022 my parents got back together and had their last baby last week, the same day as my bday! now my family travel a lot and do a bunch of things with every kid and even my dad's ex have settled. I still talk to my grandparents, great grandparents and even one of my great great grandparents who's turning 113 this year. i still love and talk to all 9 of my siblings and my cousins/aunts and uncles. in 2019,mansour passed away due to a car crash and john passed of a heart attack in 2022,mansour was 62 and john was 67. unfortunately,my great grandpa who is 79(albert) is suffering cancer and is at the verge of life and death so I hope he makes it out. One good thing that happened was that my family found my great great grandmas jewelry in the adelaide cottage in 2022.(elisa). she died 56 years before I was born, and she could've been alive today, edward moyer(my other great great grandpap)'s wife is still alive and she is 112 with no illnesses,we do actually talk to her often

The supposed double-standard between men having affairs and women having affairs actually makes sense considering that before the advent of DNA tests there was no definitive way of confirming the parentage of a child for a man if the woman was promiscuous.
