When I read "And a voice to sing with", the wonderful autobiography of Joan, for the first time (in 1994), I realized in her chapter on Kimmie that I might have a future. For the first time. Ever. At the age of 17. I came out because of Joan. I have survived because of her. Listening to you ladies talking about this issue 30 years later makes me well up in tears (in a packed up bus). Of sadness that we still need to talk about this. And of eternal gratitude to Joan. Her inspiration has helped me to become happy gay man.
Damn, I'm so jealous that you got to interview Joan!! Two of my favorite ladies on one show! And it's crazy that anyone can turn their back on a loved one. Couldn't agree more on the religion bs. Religion has hurt so many people, between wars, hate and pedophilia. 🎉💙✌🏽
