I don't care what anyone says he's the pioneer of sports entertainment, he made pro wrestling bigger than what it was. He turned a travelling circus into a global juggernaut so I have respect for him. He's quirky, he's eccentric and a lot of people in this World have done far worse than him yet they've never been as heavily criticized, publicly shamed or dragged through the mud constantly. Most of these podcasters and his peers like to kick him when he's down, they treat him like he's committed the crime of the century and act like they're angels that have never sinned but I'll always be grateful for his contribution to what I've enjoyed for over 40 years. People need to cut him some slack, the slander and petty jibes are becoming more pathetic by the day.

Vince McMahon was never a fan of professional wrestling. In fact, one of the reasons he had such an aggressive move nationwide back in the 80s is because he didn’t respect the traditions of the sport. He never respected the NWA, the territory system, or the bigger picture beyond his own selfish ambition. So yes I’ve always said Vince invented “sports entertainment” and that’s what WWE is. However, professional wrestling is something he destroyed and intentionally so. One of the things that drew his ire about Crockett/WCW was the fact that fans considered Crockett to be the purest form of traditional professional wrestling, which it was. Highly technical, better spots, where the matches were the main focus. The WWF/E never had better wrestlers, they had better storylines and better management. The NWA/Crockett/WCW ever since the early 80s had superior talent.
