That Ludwig sounds and looks iconic, without a doubt. The Benny Greb snare is my clear winner though as it‘s actually several snares in one due to the dampening system. You can go from jazz and funk up to fat 80s rock. Incredibly versatile, looks great, too.
I am a big fan of the Benny Grebb snare. I’ve heard it on many videos played by the Swedish drummer and it sounds amazing. The Ludwig however, won this battle by far. Sounded great no matter the tuning, higher or low. Thank you for this great video.
The Sonor is a great snare.. but the Ludwig is just like butter in your risotto, like potato and rosemary.. I mean, there's nothing close to that flavour!

Mapex is no joke anymore. They are not the Mapex of the 90's; they're the real deal anymore!
Oh yeah, Mapex can hang with the best of them.
Mapex and DW for me. They run a close race together in high tuning, but the Mapex pulls ahead a bit in the low tuning.
same mostly mepex for me
Wow, that Mapex is a real beauty to look at! The Benny Greb snare sounds amazing. Good playing too!
Thanks a lot Carl. //Simon
I owned a Sonor snare, and constantly got offers to buy it from guys that owned Premier, Ludwig, and Tama kits! Great snare drum!
i loved the mapex and dw make more vids like this please this one was really really good i loved it
Loved the BRONZE BLACK BEAUTY, but was surprised how good the MAPEX SHADOW was..

Mapex is #1 overall….incredible sound, especially for the money!! But, that base model Tama……WOW!!
Great sound quality, editing and playing. You should do some comparison videos, I'd love to see that. Cheers Thomann!
Hi Ze Bubba. Thanks a lot. What would you like me to compare? Any wishes? //Simon
@@ThomannsDrumBash Bronze snares, all-around rides, brass snares and large chinas! Cheers!
TAMA Low is best suited for my new wave / electronic / house taste.
I wanted to say Sonor but that Mapex was intriguingly beautiful, I like the high tunings for a crisp pop on the hit 👍🏽
P.S. my double kick pedal is airborne and headed my way 🥾🥾🥁🤘🏽
Yes! Congrats!!!
Left Burgebrach yesterday and 1/2 to me already 🤘🏽your lunar delivery services are fast !!!
I can't believe he didn't like the Tama low tuning, it sounded amazing. But the Ludwig for the win at both ranges.
Same I love that one
I dug that one too
Wow the best video !!!!!!!!!!! Amazing sound !!!!
Glad you enjoyed it //Simon
The sonor is the winner for me.
love the pdp low tuning
The Tama was the biggest surprise. They cost next to nothing .
Keep the midnight groove groovin' 🤪😎
Mapex black panther for me!
Die geilen Snares mal beiseite - dein Getrommel ist sehr geil!
Vielen vielen Dank! //Simon

Hi Joe. It's a 21" Zildjian Avedis Ride! //Simon
Thank you for this video.
Your welcome! Glad you dig it! What’s your favorite snare out of this video? //Simon
The Ludwig kills
Sonor 😍
They will all get the job done, but since I already own four Ludwigs, I’d go with the Sonar...
Low tuning in this demo is more in mid-tuning field. But, it is good video.
Very nice 👏🏻
Jesus that ludwig
🔥
Superb
What Pearl kit are you playing?
Hi Michae. It‘s a Pearl Masters Maple Reserve. //Simon
1mapex 2ludwig 3 sonor
Sonor, Ludwig, pdp
What hi-hat is that
