I was notified from Lifelock that they found my info on the dark web. I immediately call all 3 credit companies to freeze my credit. All automated on the phone. It took about 15-20 minutes total.
Im a victim of full identity theft that occurred some years back. It was the worse thing I’ve ever been through. Thankfully, by God’s grace, I didn’t lose anything. The credit freeze with the 3 major credit bureaus is a must. Also, your local Police Department can give you booklet giving you step by step measures to take. My advice is to keep good records of your charges, expenditures, etc. and monitor everything. We live in a very unsafe world but with God’s help, we will make it. Thank you for your video Boyd. My thoughts too. I believe not because this keeps happening and all they want to give is credit monitoring. You would think a breach of this nature would trigger the 3 credit monitoring companies to put an automatic freeze then if you did not want the freeze remove. The credit monitoring companies made our SSN valuable by requiring it to prove you are credit worthy when SSN was not designed for that purpose.
Quite informative and great advice on protecting yourself after this breach. Government must do more in regards to accountability for these companies thar includes prison time. As well as stop use of our SSN for anything other than claiming SS benefits.
Place a security freeze on your credit report that's in Transunion, Equifax and Experience. It's for free no cost. Also, change your passwords frequently for emails, online bank accounts, utility online accounts etc. Don't put too much info about yourself on social media sites. That's the first place scammers go.

I’m so tired of this! I’ve been a victim of these data breaches twice already (the US government employee breach and the AT&T breach). It wouldn’t surprise me if my info is in this breach as well.
I was hit by the AT&T and the State of Calif retirement system breaches @gatblau1. They pacify us with up to two years of free credit monitoring but our information is compromised for the rest of our lives. I'm sure the hackers know of this time frame. The businesses get off easy while our identity is up for grabs. So unfair.
