My Ultra Classic is 20 model years old now. The two up traveling years are done. My wife is done riding two up. She rides her Sportster. As we approach 70, I will be pulling off the lowers, tour pack, and saddle bags. All loaded up with two people and camping gear, it was a little like the motorhome handling of bikes. Slap some leather saddle bags on it and get back to a little more basic ride. I had told her I would be done with big bikes when I turn 70. I may have lied.
I recently got an 09 Electra glide ultra classic. With 25k miles for 10k with a 21 inch big wheel made to look like a street glide and I absolutely love it!!! Im trying to get used to it since it's a big difference to me but I truly enjoy it very much. Difficulty becoming adjusted to it since I haven't ride in almost 2 years since hitting and being ran over by a semi truck an it dragging me across the highway. But super excited for this riding season coming up!
My dad rode all over the lower 48, Sturgis, Daytona, Galveston, Tail of the Dragon, Pig Trail, Sisters, Big Bend, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon etc. When he met my landlord, they talked for three hours about roads, campgrounds, hotels, bars, gas stations-it was pretty incredible. I hope to get to that level someday.
My grandfather and my father both rode harleys all my life growing up. My grandpa owned a 94 Tour glide Evo and my dad had a 02 TC88 electra glide he had turned to a 95se at the dealer new. I currently own my grandfathers old tour glide, and i just recently bought a 02 electra with a stock 88. Both my grandfather and my dad are gone now, but every time i get on one of these bikes it takes me right back, almost like a time machine. The shaking, the rumble of the exhaust, the smell of a rich fuel mixture at the stoplight, the stereo singing in the background, the heat on my legs. The ting and ping when you shut them down after a long hot ride. In that moment im 10 again and loving life, care free. I dont think about bills, dont worry about my work day tomorrow, my relationship issues fade away, all my stress dissapears... Yeah, i know im not the fastest on the road, most people scoff at me because of the hate harleys seem to bring people, and i do turn a wrench on them occasionally, but man you should see the smile on my face when i ride. I feel like they are in the lane right beside me, and man how i wish they could be. I feel bad for the people that only find hate for these classic american bikes, you really are missing out on the joys of life. Ride safe guys, cherish the memories these bikes give you, try to find your peace out there ✌️
Shaun... I ride the Limited, one of my guys has the Classic, it’s a great bike. You could have made that turn btw. I scrape my floorboards regularly. The front fairing is heavy though. It will get tiring until you get used to it. Btw, the cruise control only works in 3rd gear and above - so you cannot use it in motorcycle rodeos or doing “Motorman” courses. Thanks for the video.
I love your guy’s videos and I always look forward to the words of wisdom. Been watching for a while and can’t wait to get my first bike soon. Y’all stay blessed and stay safe
Have an HD bagger, can confirm that riding cross country with your buddies (regardless of brand) is a must-do on the bucket list. For some of us, it's a must-do often! Ride safe all.
Hi! I love your videos! After watching this one, it is making me gravitate towards that type vs like a sportster bike. I’ve been trying to save up for a Harley and your channel has really helped educate me. I want this to be the only Harley I buy and keep it until it hits 500k miles. Love your channel and your words of wisdom. First time I heard that, I knew it was a sign. I started looking for knowledge on RUclips before I purchase. And I found this page and every episode you start off with words of wisdom before the ride. To me that was a sign to trust you and that you are nit gonna rip someone off. You seem like a good man and I like doing business with good men. Thanks for your channel!!
Old post, but it is still relevant. I bought a 1992 Electra Glide Ultra Classic a couple of years ago, and it's definitely a chance from my 91 springer softtail and 78 flh bobber. It's a pleasure to ride.
I miss that bike so much. I wrecked my 2012 Harley Ultra Limited a few months ago. I was heart broken. Now that I’m healed I’m looking for another bike. But this one will always be my favorite
I have a 1972 FLH all restored to original factory condition in 1989. I carry about every part I may need that I can cram in my left saddle bag The only thing I did change was I went to a 42 tooth rear sprocket. I like your videos they make me want to go ride. I ride the 72 way more then my 2002 FLSTC.
I rode my yamaha fz1000 from homestead florida to central falls rhode island and back in 2018.....in December (cold....as....heck!!) Worth seeing my grandmother before she died and surprised my son in RI for Christmas.
What gets me is that I love bikes all bikes sports, classics, all of them. Then you get the other guys who say they love bikes but they only ride 1 type of bike like you don't love bikes you love 1 style of bike
I have a 2011 ultra limited, I don't know if something is hooked up wrong, but if you roll the throttle back or roll it on with the cruise on, it doesn't shut it off. Maybe you should try the other Harley's to see if they do!
I owned a Concours 14 and an Ultra Classic. The HD us more comfortable and that's about it. It's so heavy and slow. I can't stand it anymore after riding a concours. I will say that the Ultra is comfortable for 12 hour days no problem. The concours is kinda stiff after 8 hours.
My classic does NOT have an accessory plug on the radio… but she’s 33… I don’t remember there being much available to plug in at the time. Cassette tape works tho. 80k and looks and rides great.
Sean...I presently read the 2009 - 2012 xR1200 sportsters are becoming collector idems ..I just traded for one last week ..as the dealer cost was $6600..collector retail value is now around $10,000...original price was around $10,000 - $13,000 look up the history of these XR1200's..there was also an optional XR1200X MODEL these bikes made right at 95 horsepower
Love to see the great content. You have inspired me to not only get a fully dressed bike but also start a RUclips channel with my wife and buddy. What would you recommend for a good com system? Also would love to see you guys test out some of the 110cc or 125cc chopper/ pocket bikes. Iv got a few myself and there's nothing quite like it
We came from UK and rode Route 66 on two of these last year. First time Harley riders. The good stuff; strong engine (107) very comfortable all day, carried two of us 2500 miles with luggage across America. Bad stuff: lots of gadgets to play with ,radio etc but the satnav on both bikes was garbage. Very difficult to use and struggled to find any destination we were looking for. Brakes are poor. Suspension basic and all that plastic bolted to the steering makes it very heavy. On the face of it it looks like a lot of motorcycle but underneath all the flashy bits it's very basic, I'd say even old technology and new ones are way too expensive for what they are. They sort of work on long straight US type roads not so good on our twisty UK roads.
I have had all types of bikes. Harley Touring bikes are a little heavy and take a little bit of getting used to. Spend a day on one and you get used to it and the weight disappears. Then you get on a smaller bike and it feels like a ten speed bicycle!
I’d say getting your friends to take vacation time off of work or whatever to go anywhere in the first place would be the biggest barrier, second would be getting the bike lol. Maybe that’s just me. Anyone else???
Sean get into the mechanical detailing of all Harley Davidson motorcycles ..they are all true tuner bikes ..we have one technician at my local dealer who knows how to tune a Harley of any model ..and you never get a chance to talk shop with him cause he's busy tunning
@@SuperUnknownKIDS I sure he wouldn't kick anyone out that's just a bike person . They all seam to be good guys . I wouldn't offer up a classic bike for nothing lol . I'm planning to buy a bike from them eventually. I don't like to trade off my bikes but I would for a chance to checkout there shop...
Shhh.. Here's the secret: For all of the "rebellious" imagery attached to these, It's the motorcycle equivalent to an old school big Buick! These are made to eat miles as comfortably as possible with simple tech, yet some fair bit of luxury. Harley even used the name ELECTRA.
Yes, Harley are premium bikes but other premium bikes offer more safety features standard as well as horsepower. I live in a humid, salty environment on the ocean. Sean o' yee young grasshopper you are learning and soon you will be the great guru of motorcycle wisdom ! Motorcycles are just like guns as they are all purpose built for one target ..and owning just one limits your ablility to enjoy the wide range of the sport ..and the road king is your limo .now all you need us a dirt bike , sport bike heavy and light weight cruisers street tracker a drag bike and a eazy rider full out chopper
Eh. They are nice bikes but give me a Road King if you're gonna give me a Harley touring bike. If I'm going for a full on old-man full fairing monster there aren't many options that compete with the Goldwing.

I like Sean cos he gets what motorbikes and riding are about. One of the few people on RUclips who do. Sadly.
Only problem is....HE IS ACTING. He is sooo fake
J Jones he’s not but ok
J jones how is he acting?
Ultra Classic is the ONLY Way!

Just got my 1st one yesterday. 2012 Ultra limited. Very pleased..
I love my custom Electra glide classic rode it on a 3,000 mile round trip 3 months ago. I enjoy riding it everywhere short trip, long trips.
Got any Virago 750's from the mid/late 90's? I'd be curious to hear your opinion.

It’s cool we ride the same trip past Spooky Nook except on the return I don’t take 283, I ride through Mt. Joy.
You need to do a group ride with the guys from shop .a over night camp trip see who can make the best camp set up for your bike
Thank you for starting out with the WORD! Love your videos
1:06 Can confirm, my 2000 Ultra has an MP3 aux. Random sidebar, it also only has 21k miles
Yup, everyone needs a Harley Ultra Classic. Best hold on to it, so you have one!
What gets me is that I love bikes all bikes sports, classics, all of them. Then you get the other guys who say they love bikes but they only ride 1 type of bike like you don't love bikes you love 1 style of bike
Thanks Sean, they sure had options for a 10 year old bike, like the cruise control. God bless and stay safe.
I have the 2002 Ultra Classic has all those same features and bought it with twenty-three thousand miles last year
This is my dads bike, took it for a spin after getting my permit and the last motorcycle I rode was a 50 when I was 6-8. Thing is to much of a tank
BMW K1600 bagger is the bike with that F1 sounding 6 cylinder.
Just for fun, do a short clip with putting it on center stand.
Center stand? On a harley?
Wow. I still like our farm 1984 flh Electra glide shovel head. Nice bike btw. My family would call this a old man bike
I have a 2011 ultra limited, I don't know if something is hooked up wrong, but if you roll the throttle back or roll it on with the cruise on, it doesn't shut it off. Maybe you should try the other Harley's to see if they do!
Hey Sean, how about a video on top bikes for tall riders?
😊I like the fact that He first prayed,, ", I luv' it"
Sean, I hear ya! LOVE a road trip on the bike
Love the ultra classic
I owned a Concours 14 and an Ultra Classic. The HD us more comfortable and that's about it. It's so heavy and slow. I can't stand it anymore after riding a concours. I will say that the Ultra is comfortable for 12 hour days no problem. The concours is kinda stiff after 8 hours.
@MrZep420 It can be solved with a lot of $$$$$ and even then it will never compete with a sport touring bike.
@MrZep420 No shit. I'm not here for character. I'm here for efficient, reliable and fast transportation.
@MrZep420 LOL you're a clown. I wrench on my 89' XR600r all the time. Ive been daily riding for 8 years. Don't tell me what motorcycling is or isn't.
Hoping to get my hands on one next Spring!!
My classic does NOT have an accessory plug on the radio… but she’s 33… I don’t remember there being much available to plug in at the time.
Cassette tape works tho. 80k and looks and rides great.
Any thoughts on the new 131 engine
I feel like this was made because of Yammie Noob’s recent vids 😂
Could you do something abit different.
Love to see your opinions on the North West 200 or Isle of Man TV
Like a reaction video
Test drive a Harley-Davidson breakout next time love the vlogs
I needed that prayer
Just put 1400 miles on mine in Northern Michigan this past weekend.
Northern Michigan, so sweet. There every other week myself.
That is a steal of a price, barely broken in with that mileage.
HD touring bikes really are great for rolling the miles on, but my 2018 Goldwing does it just a bit better! 😎
@ 1:30 My wife would've said there's something special about a FED-EX truck. 😅😏😒
I love my ultra classic 2017 m8 lots of power and fast also love to rid In heavy wind west Sacramento !!
Love the ultra classic 👍
Once you dial in the exhaust sound the rest is Fun! ✅

My birthday is in the 7th...I'll come pick it up!
I need to try a touring bike, I’ve always ridden light sporty bikes. Always been afraid of heavy bikes...
I have had all types of bikes. Harley Touring bikes are a little heavy and take a little bit of getting used to. Spend a day on one and you get used to it and the weight disappears. Then you get on a smaller bike and it feels like a ten speed bicycle!
it’s the BEARDS N BIKES guy !!!
This is their other RUclips channel, this is their store basically lol
What is the difference between a ultra classic and a ultra limited?
hey shaun what year is this ultra?
Love my 09 ultra classic
Me I got the same !!!
nice bikes i had one but there big heavy and lack power for what they wiegh
How much for the dude sitting atop? 😉😉🇨🇮🇨🇮
I used to bash harley... but then I rode the 2018 low rider s and fell into a deep love affair ... what a bike
I'd like to see you guys take different bikes, lay them down and try to pick them up. Showing different techniques.
Did I miss the info for the Indian for giveaway?
I’d say getting your friends to take vacation time off of work or whatever to go anywhere in the first place would be the biggest barrier, second would be getting the bike lol. Maybe that’s just me. Anyone else???

You get an ultra classic with 100 plus horsepower and a once boring motorcycle becomes hysterically
exciting
I've got an 81 shovelhead ment condition. I'd love to trade you for a bike like that . I'd even ride it to you from VA.
just go there i don't think he'll kick you out or at least call them

No

Ive never rode with a fairing, after seeing this, im not sure I could
Bro do you think Harley Davidson is better than Triumph ?

That FTR 1200 S is a staple of Indian!
It's just to much for me, I mean seriously it's a 2 wheeled mini van

The best what? jesus?
Frank Conlon yes
Sean, I never thought I'd say this but you seem to be turning into a Harley fan boy. Given this video and what you have listed for sale onsite I'm beginning to wonder.
Eustace Mullins is the Truth
Gold Wing and BMW are another level higher
if your on a Harley, it WILL break down
Ride clutch has the same music as your videos 😐
Do you ship to California? Lol
