Ghost. To be perfectly honest, I think I prefer the Ghost over the Phantom. The Ghost's styling is the perfect modern interpretation of what a Rolls-Royce should be, without completely abandoning its roots, like Mercedes have done with the latest S-class.
My friend in LA had a Phantom (with aftermarkets 24" rims) back in 2006. My best friend and I got to be a passenger in it for a couple of hours. Most comfortable car I have experienced by a land slide to this day. It was like riding a magic carpet and we were totally isolated from the world around us. Definitely my dream daily driver.
It’s funny you mentioned magic carpet ride. That’s what Rolls-Royce calls their suspension systems. You literally cannot feel a bump in the road while riding in a Rolls-Royce. Well, the Phantom is my favorite so thank you very much! I enjoyed the vid very much. I currently own an 87 Silver Spur for 20 years now and love her to death. These vehicles never 'look' old whatever the year. Would like an older Phantom (can't afford the new one either) but I need a place to store her.
This is my dream car too because it's the last car to focus on true luxury BUT I don't like how ostentatious they are. That's what I loved about the VW Phaeton's concept. So I'd love this ride, feel, luxury and build quality but skinned as something less "look at me and how much money I have." Since these cars are designed to be status symbols, I doubt that car will ever exist and I'd just have to customize something but Rolls Royce quality with understatement is what I want.
That's why I prefer Bentley's. I hope to get a W12 Bentley Continental GT in the future. I think it is the perfect combination of speed, comfort, and luxury. They're also very sleek and more understated than Rolls Royces, which is nice.
The one thing that bothers me In Rolls cars, is that the driver can close the front doors electrically, but not the rear ones. The driver should be able to control all the doors.
I actully knew a guy that traded in a civic in for a new Phantom. He said the RR dealer didn't even act jugmental about it. The employees were genuinely passionate about their cars.
That's an old trick at the car dealership, act happy to about the trade-in even if it will be over at LoBaller Wreckers getting weighed for scrap in about five minutes. It a psychological thing for the previous owner, the babies got a new loving home or something like that.
