Currently have a 9 week old and it’s wonderful that you’re using your platform to talk about this. It’s so important. Also it’s interesting how we always feel the need to caveat ‘negative’ things with “but of course we’re grateful”. I wish we wouldn’t have to. Obviously we love our kiddo but exactly what you said, two things can be true at the same time.
As my mom tells me, this is the hardest job you'll ever love. You guys are rocking this and the love you have for Shelton and one another really shows. I praise you two and send you so much love! ❤️
Hello from small town USA. As a mother to four and now a great grandmother, it is so nice to hear you talk about the hard core values that should be ingrained in each and every one of us. With social media at the forefront of most everything in today’s world, your podcast gives me hope that some good can come of it. I love your deep thinking, your positivity and your love for God. Also, I want to say congratulations to the both of you, thank you and God Bless❤️
You're keeping it real. Love you guys! Someday he will be 20 and this will be a memory. I love how grateful you guys are. I love how you look after your souls as you walk this new path. Beautiful family. Beautiful podcast.
Yes yes yes! My son is 13 months and those first 2 months were incredibly hard - so much crying, sleeping only 2 hrs at a time, ~6 hrs a day spent breastfeeding, it was such an adjustment. I missed my old life so much. IT GETS SO MUCH BETTER! Once he can smile, laugh, hug you, kiss you, etc it gets so fun. You are doing amazing!!!
Mom of a 4yo and a 3 month old, who also doesnt live near any family, and just wanna send some encouragement your way: IT WILL GET BETTER! Every month/year just gets better and better. The first 4 months are the hardest and then it's just absolute fun. Thank you for being so open about your postpartum experiences because I felt the same way with both kids. Also, don't fret about not preparing for baby. There's no way you could prepare. The best learning is on the go, and you guys are doing great! He is so lucky to have you as parents!
I'm 8 days postpartum with a beautiful baby boy and I connected so much with everything you both talked about. I really needed this reminder that I'm not alone in this!
My baby girl is 11 weeks and I could not relate more to everything you said. I will say, I think we are turning a corner now. She is starting to be happier and very fun. Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. You’re not alone and it does get better overtime! 💕
Breastfeeding is so hard at the beginning, but it’s such a wonderful experience & the bonding is so different from just a bottle fed baby. Not like you love them any less it’s just different. I did the saving the milk from the other side thing as well. That’s stuff is liquid gold! My youngest is 33, so your story brings back precious memories. You’re doing amazing. Enjoy every second! 💙 All praise to The Father for your healthy baby boy!
Newborns are emotionally and physically taxing. Don’t feel bad or guilty. It does get easier. May God bless your family with sleep, prosperity, protection, and love! ✝️
This is soooo relatable. We are now 5 months in and those hard newborn days/nights are starting to blur! It is so much easier and so much more sleep in a few months! Y’all got this!!! You are doing amazing and don’t feel guilty for feeling like it is hard.. it is hard!
I’m a mom to a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old. Postpartum for my first, I had three SUPER hard weeks from weeks 3-6 with PURPLE crying, but then it was smooth sailing. With my second, it was SO much harder- I had SCARY thoughts and the hormones were INSANE. You are not alone and it does get better ❤
I pray you guys can drown out the hate and the judgment from other people. It’s absolutely ridiculous how people act sometimes! Every child is different and every parent is different. So we’re gonna do things differently. And then you adapt based on your child and their needs and their personality. I was going to comment on the bath thing. I viewed baths as more of a nightly routine to get ready for bed. It helped my child to get on a good schedule for sleeping. It helped him wind down and you know comfort him into that sleeping time. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t! Love you guys!!
Hello from Ontario 👋🏻❤️!! I'm a mom of a 3.5 year old and am currently 36 weeks, I've loved getting to follow along on your journey in pregnancy, I'm a couple months behind you all and it's given me so much to look forward to. I've been so excited for you all the whole time! And honestly I appreciate so much the vulnerable shares. I know some people don't want to share how hard it is, I felt like maybe I just had a really hard time the first month because its not talked about really how hard it is? Though I kid you not my experience with the first month or two with my first little girl was almost identical, it was so beautiful and honestly the hardest thing I've ever done, I would say harder than the birth lol! I've never been so tired. A few times I literally thought I couldn't do it. God really held me through that time, thankfully, and my little girl and my husband. You guys are an amazing family, and I wish you only the best!! Thank you again for your content, and for glorifying God through it all. So thankful. Lots of love coming from up North ☺️🇨🇦❤

It is just so obvious how deeply you love Shelton. You are doing amazing. Can’t wait to see him grow in your love and caring.
Also, the baby squeaks are literally the cutest thing ever!!!! 🥺 My little girl grunted a lot lol they are all so unique.
Y'all are precious and doing a great job. That is one very lucky and very cute baby.

At the beginning of breastfeeding you’ve got to remember that you’re trying to learn how, but Shelton is also learning. You’re doing GREAT🙏🏽💙🙏🏽
