This video briefly explains the nature of the discs, how they were obtained, a short warning about looking for them yourselves, the entire installation process, and a brief gameplay test at the end. I searched for one of these bootlegs for a long time and was finally able to get one, so here's a video for all who are interested.

Nope. Unless you're talking about Half-Life related bootlegs. Russians love Half-Life so there are a lot of unofficial releases of HL1 and HL2 on meshok.net

@@herrk121 Sorry I never saw your comment. I found mine on meshok.net and they seem to ship anywhere (depending on the seller too). Of course now in the US I don't think we can order from there, but if you're in Chile I doubt they'll have any restrictions. It's a Russian site of course, so it's all in Russian and I had to translate all of the pages and send Google translated Russian messages to the sellers I bought from. If you can track down a copy you can afford, it definitely takes a while to figure out how to use the site but if you really want it, it's worth it imo. Even on there they're hard to find. I searched many hours and on different days etc.
It helps if you make a vague search like "half-life" and just go through all the results because there's no way of knowing if the sellers will put things like "beta" in the description or just list it as something like "half-life disc".

In this specific version of the beta leak? If you mean the beta in general, HL2's beta was leaked in 2003 and is FULL of cut maps, voices, music files, weapons, etc. This disc is the typical "Russian" Half-Life 2 Beta leak but it does have its own unique installer etc. to the best of my knowledge. If you would like to download and explore the veeeeeery interesting HL2 beta, you can find a download on this site dedicated to the beta and other very similar things (like rare HL discs etc): hl2-beta.ru/
I know ".ru" scares people but it's a legit site that has been up for decades.

I like how the retail disc got corrupted and put á everywhere
I think it might also just be modern Windows not having whatever old Russian text pack they had back then and using random placeholders from another font

hello there came aceoss you founded a leak of the cd so i was wondering are you willing to release the iso because i'd love to try it i myself have founded a similar russian version like this around the internet so i was wondering if you could possibly publish this i'd truly mean a lot if you can thanks again :)
I'll release it, but I've been waiting four months for my moving truck which has the disc on it. lol
