    911 Complaint Aids are NOT required to give Maranda Warnings before asking questions. The State's Attorney will be listening to the 911 tape.

    I would add this even if you don’t have to pull the trigger , be the first to call 911 .by standers may only see a person with a gun and start calling in listing you as the threat.

      You are correct. I have been there .... done that. Fortunately, the officers that surrounded me had common sense and I wasn't arrest once they verified my statement of what happened.
      Many years ago I was forced to draw my gun to ward off an attacker. My wife and daughter were with me, so running was not an option. Fortunately, no shots were fired, and no one was hurt. A "good" person called the police after we all went separate ways, including the attacker. We were almost home when suddenly surrounded by police on my own street. I did EXACTLY what the officers told me to do.
      After all the interrogation and lengthy questioning, I asked the officer in charge "What would you have done?". He responded with "Just what you did, except I would have called 911.". Then they let us go.

    After calling 911, if the situation allows (e.g. there is no more threat) and before law-enforcement arrives, would it be good to use a smart phone (if you have one) to record the scene of the incident, either with video and audio or photos?

    • @JacobRAdkins
      @JacobRAdkins Год назад

      No, keep the scene as untouched as possible. After the police and detectives have finished their initial investigation, CSI will come in and take photos of the scene and mark where bodies, bullet casings and blood fragments are.
      The less you disturb the scene, the better off you’ll be when you’re interviewed by the detectives. The last thing you want them thinking is that you’re a suspect.

    So what do I say when I call the police? Give a quick brief description of what happened, what I’m wearing and where it took place and hang up and call my legal defense correct? I’m with US Law Shield and they definitely will be getting that call

    I live in Illinois and am trying to get an answer about our concealed carry law. There is a parking lot section in it that states that in gun free zones you can have your weapon locked up in your vehicle. Some have said that it does not include schools. Some say that the law does include school parking lots. Would someone on your staff know about the law In Illinois and could shed some light on this issue? Thanks
