You've been asking me to do this one for years, so let's finally give the hardest challenge in Football Manager a go - The Pentagon Challenge. Starting unemployed with no qualifications or experience, my goal is to win the Champions League on all 5 continents. It's certainly the biggest challenge I've attempted - how many seasons do you think it'll take for me to complete it? And are we going to be finished before FM25 comes out...?

Good video, well edited, done with a wit! And result-wise it was also great. Did Pentagon challenge myself this year, for the first time ever, but started in Mexico out of all places. Then moved to Japan and South Africa followed. Argentina was the 4th spot and Arsenal turned out to be the end of the story. So I really look forward to your history here Kev!
PS. Had Bartman in my team, which was SuperSport. Great asset for this level.

@@Rusticles181 Chiefs should count as both a Gauteng and KZN team because why do we have 2 Home Stadiums 😂, but then again we're not so good these days.
Pentagon is the best challenge! I started a non league to legend save, inspired by yours and converted it into a non league to Pentagon hybrid. Chester and Bradford to build my licences. Kashiwa Reysol for Asia, the hardest in my opinion due to Saudi billions. Africa with SuperSport. North America with Monterrey, Latin America with Sao Paulo, Europe with Barcelona who hadn't won it since 2015! Now adding a euro glory hunter on to the same save.
Calling it now he joins monterrey and wydad Casablanca at some point

he hasn't downloaded external league packs so South Africa is his only African league playable lol

Crazy that you're posting this just as I've lost the African champions league final🤣Been doing this challenge a while, started in the 3rd division of Vietnam and took 11/12 seasons to finally win the Asian CL with Al-Sadd in Qatar, now been managing Wydad Casablanca in Morocco and just lost my first African CL final to Al-Ahly in my second season, hopefully next season goes better😅

I'm still mad that someone bought Ajax Cape Town and turned them into ct spurs after they got relegated, the only team I supported locally :/. that dutch affiliate was huge for us even for someone like steven pienaar
Great effort 👏🏻I am currently doing this challenge and am in my third season with Magesi in SA. Got them to the prem and won the cup so hoping to make champions league next season 👍
aw man I'd love to see this as a whole series (I'm aware "nobody" watches non-english league system saves, and there's not enough time before FM25. Just saying I'd love it)

I would love to see a full series of the pentagon challenge, like the NLTL series, on FM25. Not this speedy highlight version of it. But good luck. My guess is 22 seasons ;)
I don’t think enough people would be interested in watching it in that style. By this point, we’d probably be about 60-70 episodes in and there still hasn’t been a player that people have heard of, or a league they recognise. It works well for this style of video, but usually anything other than one of the top 3-4 European leagues really struggles for views on a let’s play.
@@lollujo Youre probably right. My view wont do it but I would watch the entire series alongside my own pentagon challenge in FM 25 😁

so weird. i'm at the end of my pentagon challenge trying to finish off the job with Valencia. But I also started off at Milford and then won the African CL with Kaiser Chiefs. From there I went to Jubilo Iwata and it took a while to develop a team but eventually won the Asian CL in the 3rd season
I would have a really hard time not applying to that Club America job in Mexico. I know it would be seen as far above where you were but still worth a shot!

I'm going to be doing my own version of this challenge but with only low tier footballing countries, so no countries you would expect to win Champions Leagues, my focus in Asia will probably be Bhutan(I'm going to create a semi realistic Bhutan database), but I'm also going to include Oceania because that one to me will be an interesting addition to the challenge.

11 Seasons for Kev to complete the challenge. It isn't that difficult (though it is good fun) and knowing that Kev is among the best FM players I have faith that less than a dozen seasons is more than enough time.

I'm currently on with this challenge my first job was in Indonesia at Persija Jakarta won the league threre then moved to La Serena in Chile but got relegated, the next season i brought them back as champions but then left for the Tokyo Verdy job won the league the emperor cup and the league cup at verdy then moved on to Tigres in mexico where i won the league and concacaf champions league after i was poached by Corinthians ive just won the copa libertadores and finished 2nd in league i will stay here until im poached by a club in europe

No, I don’t think a save like this would work as a longer series - it would need to be 100s of episodes long, in weird leagues that people wouldn’t be able to relate to. It would completely bomb!
Make it actually hard by making sure you only win the European Champions league with the lowest possible league at that point. Already done this with Latvia and Wales previously, takes about 30-35 years usually.

Starting an early campaign for you to only consider this challenge completed after you’ve won all five champions leagues plus the club World Cup

The hardest part of the pentagon challenge is loading enough leagues to do it while not having your PC spontaneously combust
It's amazing what you can do in FM when you've been playing for years and really understand the game.
I've gotten so bored with starting at tier 11 of England for the least 10 years and working my way up that I've finally started playing other regions for more of a challenge, not sure I'm quite up to starting without any badges yet but I think that might be my first Fm25 save.

Loving the side quest away from Wembley. With them not up the leagues yet and east fife save not as active now I had been missing episodes of ‘Kev Goes Wonderkid Shopping’, so hopefully see a bit of that in these videos while the Wembley journey carries on. ☺️

Literally Tom FM did the same thing started in Africa and won the challenge. Imagine Kev managing in Africa ,asia ,Oceania.
Oceania isn't in the Pentagon challenge, so at least I get to avoid that one...

Planning to start my own Pentagon Challenge off the back of this.
Can I ask you (and others) whether it's better to start with all leagues loaded or to start with one/two continents' leagues loaded (Africa, Asia, N America) and then add leagues from the other continents and remove existing leagues as I go throughout the save.
Which is best for the smooth running of the game?

I have 3 continents loaded at a time - the one I'm playing in and the likely next two. Then when I moved, I delete the one I'm leaving and in the next one.
