I generally go for stuff that’s a bit rockier than this, but I have to say that Lewis has quite an amazing voice. His use of rasp, distortion, and vocal fry sounds natural, not forced at all, and he can go from that to silky smooth at the drop of a hat. This song pretty much hooked me on him. Tyler Perry did a great video from one of his plays. (Let Em Go). Madea talks about the leaves on a tree, some people are like leaves and sway in the breeze and then fall away. It’s not their fault, they were made to be leaves. Then there are branches, branches, branches can fool you into thinking they are trees, you gotta be careful of them. But if you can find someone who is a root, you have a good one there. He also states that he would rather be alone then come home to a house that has no peace.

Thank you Lori for requesting this & thank you Jamel for reacting to it. I wasn't familiar with Lewis Capaldi until recently, but I absolutely LOVE his voice & this song is a heartwrencher. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure most of us can relate. Not one of the happier parts of our lives but I believe the pain makes you stronger. Peace & love to you Jamel ✌️💜
