Unplanned Stop at Incredible City, Praia da Vitoria,Azores , Portugal 🇵🇹

Our ship was diverted to this incredible beautiful island, Praia da Vitoria due to weather conditions.
We really enjoyed this stop. We hiked the hill called Miradouro Do Facho. It was a challenging hike because of the incline and the strong gusty winds. It was as so totally worth it. The views at the top was amazing.
Walking around the town was also fun. We visited the beautiful church . We just enjoyed this charming old city.

One thing they don't tell you about the cobblestone streets and sidewalks...... Each stone is hand carved. I remember walking to the beach, early one morning, and seeing and old guy with a chisel and hammer working on a sidewalk. Upon returning, at the end of the day, I saw the same guy working on the same sidewalk, but he was much further down the road.
